It required special measurements and work. The new bulkhead is metal and that had to be made to order which took sometime. Just about the day they were going to make the initial part of the installation, we had a storm of hurricane force that stopped all work. They were able to get back the following Monday to pour fresh concrete for the structure. Then they had to come back another day to install the metal bulkhead. It all appears to be well. They told me what kind of special paint to put on the metal and I did that a couple of days later.

door was made about 1 inch too wide, but they managed to put it on with overhang on sides. Not a problem for me. Had no trouble of leaks.

Errol worked and supervised the project. He notified us in advance of any overruns or issues. They were very meticulous about their work. The product looks great. We are very satisfied with the project. We would define steely hire them again. I would ask for Errol for my next project.

Though it took a little while for them to get back to me at first, they did set up an appointment to see the job rather quickly. However, then there was a wait again before the appointment was made for the actual work. They only sent one person to do the job, which surprised me, but he seemed to know what he was doing and was capable. There has been no further leaking in the basement, which I hope is due to the good job they did and not just to Mother Nature's unpredictability. A warranty comes with the job and I hope I will not have to submit a later report if ever I need to call upon it. I paid both the deposit and final balance with a credit card. I got a receipt for the deposit, but never was given a receipt for the final payment. I even called and wrote a letter specifically asking for them to send me a receipt for the final payment, but they have completely ignored my requests (it's been months since the job was done).
Response from The Cellar Door Co
"We fill out a fully detailed job proposal and contract with deposit amount and spot for check number or payment type on the form as well as final balance amount . When the work is completed customers usually pay by check which becomes their paid receipt if they like we will mark on their contract paid in full , date and initials . We feel another invoice is redundant seeing they already have their balance info . Cash payment customers are always given a paid in full amt. dated and signed receipt . Customer was given the info the day he signed or mailed in the form. Unless other work has been added no other bill is given."
