They send different people every time, are in and out in an hour and are not very thorough. We have been dissatisfied since the first time they worked with us and have they have not gotten any better.

We have hired excellent cleaners over the last 15 years, but this company's price was superb, so we switched. After a year of service, it's clear that price is the only consistent thing about their service. We've needed to call and voice concerns at least 9 times for a variety of problems:
1. Despite 8 promises to heed our requests for consistent team members on our team (something the owner promised easily during our initial service review), teams almost always changed. Owner finally admitted they have employee "turnover issues" and they hire a lot of "summer and seasonal employees", which is a warning flag about the company in general.
2. Despite 6 promises to heed our requests for consistent cleaning of shower mold (again something the owner promised easily during our initial service review), shower mold was left untouched 75% of the time.
3. After cleanings were completed, we've had to call 5 or 6 times to "remind" them of a couple of things we prefer be left alone, and a couple of things we prefer to have done a certain way. These customer preferences faded away by the second or third cleaning after the request was made (probably a result of the continuous rotation of different workers being assigned to our house, as well as poor or ignored team communication of customer preferences).
4. Because we have a larger home, we were promised a regular team of 3. We've received that only a few times, then teams revert to 2. Also, time spent on site initially looked appropriate at 3 or 3.5 hours, then reverts to 2 hours. It's evident this company intentionally decreases service levels after a customer is expected to become "complacent" after the routine goes on for a few cycles. We find this to be an unacceptable service tactic.
To summarize, this company talks a great game and charges an attractive price, but ultimately provides poor service. They might be OK for small spaces, but even then we would recommend reviewing their work with a healthy dose of skepticism.
We set up an initial in home, room by room tour, cost estimation and detailed description of their cleaning service. This meeting was very professional and detailed. We have had the cleaning authority clean our home on a bi-weekly basis for the past 3 months and have generally been very happy. There was a little confusion in the beginning about which areas would be "detailed" (their system breaks the home into 4 areas, detailing one a visit in a rotation). I contacted the supervisor and she had them detail the missing spaces as well as the scheduled spaces with an inspection on the next visit. We have been very happy with the quality of the cleaning and the cost; however, because of the way they schedule, the time of day that they arrive changes weekly, which might be a problem for some clients. They also primarily communicate via email and I don't check my home email during the day, so I missed an email that indicated that they would have to cancel a cleaning at the last minute due to weather. We were able to quickly reschedule for another day in the same week, so in the end it worked out fine for us.

", Thank you for your feedback! I took a look at your account and we can adjust your time constraint to a more specific time frame if that works better for you. We are also able to leave you a voice message or send you an email the day before your clean with an estimated time of arrival. If a voice message works best for you going forward instead of an email we can very easily make that change as well. Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with! Sincerely, Jen Lanagan Owner"

The routine cleaning they did for about a year went pretty good- cost seemed cheap, but sending a different team most times, and missing some areas to clean were a problem.
The move-out clean that I requested them to do this July went TERRIBLY!!!
I emailed them twice to confirm the date/time of the clean- it was CRUCIAL that they come before we had our closing a couple days later. All of it was very time-intensive. They totally LOST the appointment to clean my house- when I needed help the most! They didn't show up, and I called and called and called and didn't get a response for almost an hour. I was still desperate for the help and rescheduled them to come the next day. They did not come then when they were suppose to- they emailed me a different time of their choice- I never saw the email and again sat, waiting, wondering, were these cleaners going to come help me in my time of dire need? I started cleaning myself- even though I still had moving to do, and they came late. I sent a very detailed email to the owners going over the entire bad experience, and I have still not received a response from them. FAIL!!!!
I gave them a 'D' rating, because, they had done a pretty good job prior to this move-out clean disaster.
"In the event of selling a house and moving to a new one, it’s very exciting yet stressful at the same time and we understand you being frustrated with the scheduling of your move-out clean. Unfortunately, our system had a slight glitch; being that the move-out clean wasn’t a regular job on that day, somehow, it was removed from our schedule. Your patience and understanding when we contacted you to reschedule for the following day was appreciated. Our management staff has now found communication improvements and system improvements to avoid an event like this reoccurring. We apologize for this glitch causing you to be inconvenienced, our goal is to provide our clients with convince and peace of mind."

That experience has been very positive. I thought that they were very extraordinarily professional. They were responsive to any questions that we raised. Their charges were precisely what they quoted us.

We have used The Cleaning Authority for regular house-cleaning. They showed up on time, did a thorough job, and the house didn't smell like chemicals after they left. I found the manager to be responsive to e-mails with special instructions. The house definitely looks better after a few months of consistent cleaning.
When meeting with the owner, I felt confident and excited to try their service. He spent a lot of time reviewing my needs and I was very pleased with the price quote, at the time I was impressed with his professionalism. I was promised quality assurance along the way. That a manager would stop in during the first cleaning to inspect the crews work and to ensure things were going well. Then I was assured a follow-up call would be made about two days later to see if I was still pleased. I was told a detailed letter would be left (almost like a check list) as to what services were rendered on cleaning day. I was also told that usually the same crew would do the same home each time with exceptions, like illness, family emergencies, etc..
No manager stopped over on both cleaning occasions. No follow up calls were made. No detailed letter was left just a letter stating that they did an initial cleaning and that a follow up call would be made in a few days. The first crew of two did an acceptable job. It took them about 3.5 hours. So we thought we would give them another go. The second cleaning two weeks later was a different story. Only one person showed up. Her cell phone kept ringing and she was making phone calls. She stated that no other personal were scheduled to join her. It took 3.5 hours with two people working I could only imagine how long it was going to take with one person. About 1.5-2 hours into the cleaning 3 other crew members showed up. They smelled of smoke and body odor. They said that they got a call from the initial crew member that she needed help. The initial crew member said she had a lot going on at home and wanted to get going. The wood floors were sopping wet and the house smelled of smoke and BO when they all left. The "detailed" cleaning that was promised was not done. The initial crew member said that she could not get the stainless steel clean with our cleaner. Hmmmm, I was wondering what they use. Also, when I asked her what type of wood floor cleaner they used she couldn't tell me just that it was a great wood cleaner.
Again, no follow up call. We thankfully did not sign a yearly contract so I waited to hear from someone before calling them. No call. Then 2 weeks later with no reminder call a crew of two different people showed up 3 hours later than all the original crews.
Needless to say I was less than pleased. It's a big deal to let someone into your home and to establish trust. I couldn't be sure who was coming on which day and when they would be coming. We went with a different service, who cleaned top to bottom in 2.5 hours with a consistent crew. I would not recommend the Cleaning Authority at all.
Response from The Cleaning Authority - Cedarburg
"Your frustration is understandable; yes, a check list of the day’s detailed task is available to our clients in the folder given at the in-home estimate and our procedure is to inspect the homes on the 1st and 2nd clean. Then on a randomly inspect continuing forward, assuming no unexpected obligations arise. We encourage our clients to share their feelings of the service with us, providing either good or not so good feedback, so we can make the proper adjustments to continually satisfy them. A clients preferences such as time constraints, specific cleaners, reminder calls or other special request are not assumed by office staff, but only honored upon the client’s request. It’s unfortunate that you have decided to discontinue service with use, but you are always welcome to restart. We would love the opportunity to show our dedication to serving our client’s on a personal basis."

So the day of the 1st cleaning I was home part of the time because I work from home. The ladies showd up on time and were clean and smiling. The first cleaning was a thorough cleaning of the bathrooms and kitchen and a good cleaning of the living areas. I have alot of wood floors and have had to 'break up' the mopping of the floors for cleaners in the past because they wouldn't do 'all that mopping' in one visit. But these ladies did the entire house! It took them about 3 hours. I was soo happy with the job they did! There was a little bit of miscommunication about the cats -- HA! But that was resolved easily.
The second month they did a thorough cleaning of the living areas (bedrooms, living rooms, etc.) and a good cleaning of the bathrooms and kitchen. I couldn't tell the differene. I thought they did a great job on the whole house both times.
I've been through 5 cleaners in 6 years. Either they quit or don't answer there phones or whatever. I always assumed the woman trying to make extra money would do a better job at a lower price than the big company. NOT TRUE! These guys do a better job with a MUCH LOWER PRICE!
I only hope they stay in business cuz if I have to find another cleaning service they won't hold a candle to The Cleaning Authority!
