Cynthia arrived on schedule and ready to go to work. Honestly her stamina amazes me. She worked all day non-stop (no breaks) from 9.30 am to 4.30pm! Cynthia is real hands on. She moved thing - even heavy things herself. Not one of those people who just tells you what to do and let you do all the work. I truly believe she could see the space as it will be before we even did any work. Once we got rid of the clutter, she helped me rearrange my furniture to make it more functional. By the time we finished, my office looked the way I always imagined it should be - airy, light and functional (everything in its place and a place for everything). Working with her was one of the best decisions I made. My wife saw what she had done and wants her to come back and help her with her dressing room and closet. I've found some great providers on Angie's List in the past - she's definitely one of the gems! <br /> <br /> <br />

The service went great. Cynthia was very helpful and did amazing work. She really helped me get organized. She completed the work in a few hours. I had no problem scheduling the service and she was on time. I would use the company again.

The Clutter Whisperer of NYC has worked with me for the last 2 months, helping me to purge my house of 30 years of "stuff" in anticipation of down-sizing to an apartment out of state.   She also worked with me over a year ago helping me to purge my clothes closet.  We have a few more weeks to go before I can finally put my house up for sale. <br /> I don't know what I would do without Cynthia.  She has taken charge of a very overwhelming situation and made it manageable.  I can actually see light at the end of the tunnel.  She always shows up on time, has a plan of attack, and at the end of each session, we have managed to bag up lots of donations and recyclables.  She even arranges for periodic pick up of the donations by posting "free stuff" on Craigslist.  She has photographed all of my plants for an eventual Craigslist sale, advised me on how to delete data from my old phones, and talked me out of buying a new printer until I get relocated.   <br /> Cynthia is patient, amiable, very responsible, proactive, energetic and brings along her assistant -- a very cute 5# teacup schnauzer who is usually content to sleep in his carrier. <br /> I highly recommend Cynthia for any aspect of organizing. <br />

We got a lot done. She was an absolute pleasure and her dog was a joy to be around. He was quiet and well behaved. There is still more work ahead and i will be calling her again. <br />

The first day was just to deal with the bags and bags and bags of clothes, most of which were outdated.  Cynthia set up my under-utilized armoire to house my folded clothes and shoes.  She had me buy a portable wardrobe on sale at The Container Store for my hanging clothes and bedding.  She poached chests of drawers from another part of the apartment and created drawer storage for socks, underwear, tee shirts, et al. <br /> On the second day, she moved my large Metro Shelving unit in such a way as to create a room divider and a proper sleeping area.  She provided a black bed cover from her own apartment to line the Metro Shelving on the back to prevent light from coming through the sleeping area. <br /> On the third day, we cleaned off all the shelves and then began filling it with luggage, sports equipment, toiletries and office equipment.  I brought in a desk from another room.  We organized the books and filled the bookshelves.  Cynthia set up an eating area for me, and a drop zone for mail.  And she even gave me a gift of flowers for the planter outside my front door. <br /> I highly recommend The Clutter Whisperer if you are looking for someone who is very enthusiastic, easy to work with, very creative and a hard worker.  She produced beyond my expectations.  I could never have done this without her.  I am having my kitchen and baths renovated and will definitely have her back to stock both areas once the reno is done. <br />

she did a decent job, but harassed me and wrote an extremely unprofessional email following our appointment.  she needs to realize that she is in a client-facing business and you cannot just tell off or sue anyone that has to cancel or has a hectic schedule.  it is new york...most people who work in finance (such as myself) do not know their schedules until the day of, and booking things 2 weeks in advance is nearly impossible.  cynthia, you are trash talked ME on angie's list and then sent me a card asking me to change my review...?  never once did you apologize for being so rude, just asked me to change my review. i was in the midst of an awful custody battle and the email you wrote me actually made me CRY it was so mean.  and you are also disorganized with client information.  i told you where i lived the first time i spoke to you and you said it was nice that i was only a few blocks away.  then later you emailed me and said i didn't give you my contact info until the night before, which was untrue because i told you over the phone and you even mentioned the short commute in the first email you sent me.  it's not my problem that you didn't take notes when i called you. <br /> <br /> you are a good organizer, but your attitude and unprofessional mocking of your clients is going to destroy your business if you don't stop.

Cynthia took my "rummage sale" looking closets and turned them into something that belong in a design magazine! An amazing transformation! I want her to organize every nook and cranny! <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />

Cynthia is amazing.  Ive been using her for 5 years now.   She is such a hard worker, so good at her job and will transform your space.  Believe me, the extra checks you never cashed or the credit slips she finds in your piles of papers will help pay for her session.  When shes done you will feel so good. <br />

Cynthia was just the help I was looking for today.  She came over to zero in on my art and crafts room, but didn't stop there. After completely organizing that room and helping me make sure it functioned as it should, she also helped us organize the office, and completely rearranged our kids' room furniture to maximize the space in that room. She was a breath of fresh air after a very big move from another city.  She paid close attention to details and what I wanted. I highly recommend her and wouldn't hesitate to call her again!  I was feeling very run down and overwhelmed before she came today, now I have more energy and motivation to keep unpacking! Her systematic approach and helpful examples and suggestions will make the rest of our unpacking faster and much more organized. <br />

It went pretty well. She made the long trek to my part of Brooklyn from Manhattan in the bitter cold. <br /> She helped me to thoroughly re-organize my kitchen and purge unneeded items. She also helped me plan my move to a new apartment: what to keep, what to toss / give away, how to arrange furniture in the new place. She also gave me valuable tips on suitable furniture for my new apartment, as well as generally useful organization tips. <br /> She worked tirelessly for more than five hours, without even eating a bite of food. She has a lot of energy and enthusiasm. <br /> I would advise potential clients who are attached to their (needed or unneeded possessions) to be prepared to do some hard work, be ready to let go when the situation demands it, and allow the Clutter Whisperer to work. Sometimes it's really hard to let go of all the little knick-knacks and doodads that one has accumulated over time. It's also hard to learn new ways of doing old things (organizing tea more efficiently, arranging zip lock bags). But, if you keep an open mind, and are prepared to prep, purge, organize and beautify your space, I would advise you to give her a call. <br />

Cynthia helped me organize my son's room and closet. We had many years of clothes to go through and she helped me go through what was too small, too large, and organize the clothes by season. She also organized his closet and I can finally open the doors without having everything topple over! She was prompt and quick. It is such a relief to have everything in its place now. Cynthia was prompt and after a walk through of my apartment decided to designated the larger bedroom as a guest/craft room.  I was afraid she would make me give up my craft supplies.  I bead as a hobby and I also have a large stash of fabrics because I use to sew home decor items i.e. slipcovers, pillows, etc..  I haven't been sewing because of no space to set up my machines or room to cut the fabric.  She saw I had several matching storage units and suggested I use them in the dining room as one unit.  I was using the walk-in-closet to store my suits which I no longer wear.  She suggested I donate my suits and use the closet to store my hobby supplies.  She organized the room, set up the guest beds, suggested how to setup a work area, to start shredding papers that are too old and to go over questionable items.  She left me a "to do list" and I kept myself on track by making a goal of recycling or tossing out a item a day.  She also researched where I can donate or recycle my items.She was very encouraging, I would e-mail her with ideas because I had items in the basement and in the garage that I wanted to incorporate into the new decor.  I was even able to use fabric that was in my "stash".  She did have qualms about the fabric I wanted to use for a chair but agreed it would be different but I may have problems in the future since it wasn't "neutral" and I could have problems if I want to change my color palette.  She gave me ideas on a sofa, and places to go shopping for it.  I picked out a sofa and a color.  Went looking for paint chips in preparation for the next visit <br /> The next visit was for several weeks later to give me time to get the "to do list" done.  I brought shelving to put in the closet, arranged for the contractor to install the new shelving in the closet, new curtain rods (which I had but never got around to installing).  Discussed the color palette I picked out and to firm up the curtain type.  I did not want triple pleat curtains, did not want my living room to look like my mother's, wanted something younger and not as formal.  Cynthia suggested other types but I did not like any them and kept on investigating other options until I saw "inverted box pleated curtains" and decided that was for me and Cynthia agreed.  I felt it was clean, simple but elegant.  I hit several paint stores to pick up chips and I finally hit the jackpot when I went into a Sherwin Williams paint store.  I had ordered a dark brown sofa but against a aubergine wall (Cynthia's suggestions), it would have been too dark and I can't see myself living with that color and I told Cynthia, I wasn't comfortable with that color.  I saw in Sherwin Williams a wall effect which I really liked and picked out some colors.  We went over the colors and she helped me firm up my choices.  She started on the living room and I went over the last few items in the craft room.  I am still going through the living room before the contractor starts painting.  I am trying to consolidate my dvds into 2 bookcases vs 3 bookcases and then put sliders on them to help move them into the new positions.  Cynthia will be coming in another week to help me purge the living room and the dining room before the painters come.  I see her vision and it is a lofty goal to have a living room and a exercise area, a dining room with storage for small appliances, dishes, etc to cope with a typical small NYC kitchen.  I will definitely hire her again.  She encourages you without judging you.  I thought I had a hoarding problem but she told me, if I was a hoarder I would have a very hard time getting rid of things.  She has given me the impetus to purge and donate items that I no longer use or need. <br /> <br />

She  didn't make me feel like I was a nut for having collected so much stuff. Instead she was encouraging and told me that I was <br /> doing well with the making of decisions to sort according to consignment or donation. She conducted herself with the utmost <br /> professionalism. <br />

In both the five and six-hour sessions we deep-sixed a tremendous amount of clutter, and many redundant possessions were gratifyingly consigned for donation. The Clutter Whisperer is professional, hard-working and diligent in her brisk approach to the job at hand. She also contributes a uniquely creative approach to organizational challenges. I plan to continue to use her services in the months to come - to finally achieve the pared-down, minimalist living environment I crave. <br />

I have the typical problem of a single girl in her 30's -- too much stuff and not enough closet space!  I found Cynthia and was hoping she could help me.  Well, did she help!!  She thought of new ways to not only use my storage space but also rearranged my furniture to make my room look bigger and cleaner.  I was so impressed with how she was able to think of new ways to use old things (i.e. she suggested using a set of hooks low on my inside door to organize my purses - never would have thought of that!).  And last but not least, she spent from 9 am to 4 pm with me and it was incredibly reasonably priced! <br /> It's Day #2 and I'm loving the changes... thanks Cynthia!! <br />

Before arriving, Cynthia had gone to Staples and gotten some supplies I needed, which was extremely helpful as it saved me a trip there.  She then helped sort by chronological order the voluminous amounts of stuff and set up a system for sorting and filing it.   This was key, as there was far too much material to handle in a single day.   <br /> Since her visit, I have spent a few hours each day taking a walk down "memory lane" - reading letters from relatives now deceased, deciding to throw or keep, filing them away, etc. and soon the project will be complete.   <br /> Cynthia was very pleasant and easy to be with.  Although this job was a bit different from her normal tasks, she approached it with gusto.    I would hire her again for other projects.   <br /> <br />

Cynthia is a great woman and a great inspiration & teacher! Yes, teacher!!  I am very grateful for all she has done for me!  She was there for me when most others were not.  She is very patient and understanding and has great ideas. She brought a sense of calm to my very stressful situation.  I highly recommend her to anyone. <br />
