The Concrete Company provides a high quality product at a fair price and they stand behind their work. Matt and everyone on his team are honest, conscientious, careful, have good communication, and do exceptional work. They are very thorough with initial preparation, detailed and careful with the install and finishing, and excellent with clean-up. My new drive and sidewalk look incredible and it was a very smooth process.

Matt and his team did excellent work! We were by no means a "portfolio job"--just a plain-jane driveway on the Northside of Madison. I was consistently impressed with the professional service, attention to detail, and care that The Concrete Company took with the work they did for us. We would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs concrete work done.

Matt was very professional. His crew was great. Worked hard, and the difference between the driveway they removed and what they put in is beyond description. They removed an amazing amount of dirt, put in a gravel base which was compressed with each load of gravel. The end product is high quality. They may not be your lowest bid, but a concrete driveway will be a big investment. It should last decades, if done well. The concrete company knows how to do the job well, with professionalism and timely work.

We had Matt come out and give us an estimate in March and he informed us that he was booking for the end of July; he even suggested a few competitors if we wanted our patio in earlier. We decided to go with The Concrete Company, despite the wait, and we can say: the wait was totally worth it. Our patio is beautiful and his team was just the best - my toddler and her friend were fascinated by the work being done and the workers talked to them, explained what they were doing, and even sang songs with them (!). The process was completely seamless and I appreciated that, when a slight issue popped up (a basement window we didn't even realize was there!), Matt came up with a simple solution that didn't involve any added expense. Can't say enough good things about this company.

My experience with Matt and his crew at the Concrete Company was outstanding. He recently completed a new driveway for us. I find that many contractors I've worked with in the past really lack communication skills - they don't respond to questions/calls, you never know when they're going to show up, etc... This was not the case with Matt. He responded promptly to my request for a bid and was quick to answer many questions I had along the way. He personally stopped by my house several times to meet with me and our carpenter to problem solve an issue with a door threshold. The project itself was tricky, in fact, another concrete company turned it down because they felt they couldn't properly keep water away from the foundation of the house. Matt was open and straight forward with me the whole time, assuring me he'd find a way to make it work. The end result is both aesthetically pleasing and functional - the jewel of the neighborhood! Finally, I needed some help installing some pavers for a small retaining wall on the side of my new driveway and what a landscaping company quoted me was more than I could afford. Matt's crew got it done quickly and for a very reasonable fee. Couldn't be more pleased!

They did an absolutely beautiful job. They did everything the way I like it. Matt, the owner, he suggested some things to do and I thought they were good ideas. He gave me a good deal on everything. They have conscious workers, I can't say anything more about them, they're great.

We selected the concrete company because we had seen their work throughout our neighborhood, and the quality seemed to be high. Matt was enthusiastic and personable in our initial meetings, and produced a quote very promptly. We had an old wooden deck taken down, to be replaced with a concrete patio and walkway. In addition, they agreed to create a step, approximately 3’ x 5’, in front of the front door. Matt was able to start the job a couple of weeks earlier than we expected, and he was usually wrapping up when I came home from work at 6pm. So far so good. The walkway which connected the driveway with the old deck had a step up, on the driveway end, which raised the level of the sidewalk to grade with the front yard. On Matt’s recommendation, however, that step was eliminated from the new walkway, but the yard was never graded to match its new height, so we were left with a mound, about 1’ high, on the side of the walkway abutting the front yard. I brought this to Matt’s attention, but it was never seriously addressed. Additionally, the front step took on a design we never discussed. The 3’ x 5’ step landing would “float” on top of what was, apparently, the old stoop, with slightly smaller dimensions – as though it were on a pedestal. While I would not have objected to this design (it could’ve had a nice modern look), the execution was poor, and the end result looked unfinished. The underlying stoop was very roughly slathered in new concrete, while the bottom edge of the upper portion was not cleanly finished. In any case, there was never a final walk through, during which these unresolved matters could’ve been discussed. One day, I came home from work to find the front step covered in plastic, to protect it from rain, with no explanation of whether or not the work was finished, nor instructions left behind, about when the plastic could be removed. We did receive an invoice by e-mail, in the form of a “money request” from paypal. There was no provision for comments. In my experience, invoices are generally delivered with payment terms of net 30. On a Saturday morning, at 9am, however, about 2 weeks after receiving the paypal request, Matt Wallace pulled up in front of our house to demand payment. I found this to both unprofessional and disturbing. He explained that there was a family emergency, and needed payment right away. I felt for him, and believed he was sincere, and wrote him a check. Upon considering it further, however, I felt like it was an unfair abuse of what was a client/vendor relationship – not a personal one. While some of the work was very good, enough of it was poorly executed, and Matt’s behavior was so lacking in professionalism, that I would not hire this company again.

I can not tell you how much we love the work that Matt and his crew did. Always professional. We wanted a patio in the front of our home and he came in with his suggestions to create something completely different and also new for him. It turned out amazing!! We also decided on a new driveway as well to make it all come together. LOVE these guys!!! highly recommend!!!

Matt (the owner) and his employees were over-the-top nice and accommodating over the entire process. They rushed to get it done before winter, and I couldn't ask for a better finished product. Seriously, can't recommend them enough!

From beginning to end our experience w/ The Concrete Company, both Matt and his crew, was professional yet personable.  They were a pleasure to work w/.  The crew answered all my questions and educated me on how the job needed to be done.  They were very concerned w/ our happiness and made sure the job was done right.  They worked w/ me to get the perfect color of stain for the stamped edge on the concrete. At the end of each work day they cleaned up and made sure things were put away. Matt was easy to get in touch w/ and always answered any questions.  He let me know what the next day's plans were or just checked in to see if we were happy.  I couldn't be more pleased w/ my new walk and driveway.  We are constantly getting compliments on the job and it is all due the great work of The Concrete Company! <br>

They did a great job and we knew exactly when they'd be coming.  The;y removed old concrete squares at the top of the driveway and the end of our garage.  They repoured the concrete to create a level transition.  It's a perfect job.  Highly recommended.  I didn't compare prices because of the high ratings. <br />

Matt Wallace and The Concrete Company crew were fantastic! After contacting three different contractors I selected The Concrete Co based on prior reviews, cost, and the pleasurable experience I had working with Matt. Matt was without a doubt the easiest contractor I have ever worked with; his communication skills and professionalism, along with company reviews really made The Concrete Company an easy choice. <br /> <br />I contracted with Matt in June of 2015 with the understanding that the job would be done prior to our trip in mid-October. Based on the company's online installation schedule which was altered in late September it appeared that the job might not get done prior to our leave date. After expressing my concerns to Matt around the 1st of October, Matt promptly responded to my concerns and assured me that he would get the new driveway installed before we left town on October 15th. He also assured me that because of the fall weather conditions, it was a great time to pour the new driveway (I had considered delaying the project till spring), and since the concrete could not be driven on for about a week, it would be convenient for us. The old concrete was removed on October 13th and the new concrete was poured on October 14th. I trusted Matt that the finish up work which included lawn restoration would be done prior to our return home. <br /> <br />When we arrived home on October 26th, everything was completed as promised. The Concrete Company, headed by Matt Wallace, had been recommended to me by another contractor in a related business.  I still got three other bids on the project.  Matt's was the most reasonable, and the most detailed.  There was one other contractor that was close, but  got their bid in a full week later than the others.  I am so happy I chose Matt and his team. The project went wonderfully.  Matt and his team arrived according to his schedule.  They prepped the area exactly as they said they would, and completed the job exactly as they had said it would go.  I was so pleased with the whole team, very nice and professional, and the end result looks spectacular!  I had been wanting to do this project for SEVEN YEARS!  I finally was able to afford to do it, and wanted it to go perfectly, and it did! <br /> I have another project I want to do next year, putting in an additional parking pad in my driveway.  I have already had Matt bid that out, and will use his team for that project as well.  I would fully recommend The Concrete Company to everyone! <br />

Matt and his team were wonderful to work with.  I had contacted Matt in June, 2014 for an estimate and he immediately contacted me and was at the house the next day.  After meeting with him and discussing the project, I knew in my heart this was the company I was going to have do the work and did not meet with anyone else.  We booked the project for this year and his calendar keeps you informed on when your work is going to be scheduled.  A few days before the work was to be started, he came to the house and we discussed the job again.  <br /> When the time came to do the job, Matt and his team were friendly and answered any questions that I had. <br /> The job looks better than I could ever have imagined.  I have had so many comments on it on how beautiful it looks and what a good job his team did.  Thanks again! <br />

The original driveway was heaving (started after about 7 years)  It was improperly done with very little Rebar, not much base and thin concrete. <br /> Matt communicated great and came out immediately in the fall to give us the estimate.   He put us on the schedule for summer.  He communicated throughout the whole process in a very professional manner.  He was honest and included what other companies said were upgrades as standard.  The other estimates were like pulling teeth with many contacts to get them to answer and then to come out.  Then the estimates either didn't come or their base price plus what they called upgrades totaled the same price as Matts.  He does research on the latest products and put a sealer on the driveway and then came back and put another sealer in a few weeks. <br /> The work was done by an excellent crew who spoke to us with respect and were very friendly.  They really knew their craft. <br /> He has an awesome calendar on his web site and it keeps you informed of delays.  Expect delays!  This is concrete and the weather affects the demo, pouring and curing.  He won't pour under bad conditions and you wouldn't want him to.  The calendar kept me informed of the dates and I checked it often.  Take advantage of his discount. He currently offers a discount for paying up front.  We had so much confidence in him that we had no problem paying up front. <br /> The job was finished in a timely manner and it is beautiful.  This driveway will outlast the house! <br /> Thank you Matt for coming through with everything you promised.  We feel like we made a new friend! <br />

Matt is wonderful to work with. He really listened to what we wanted and delivered it.  The job was beautifully done. Matt is so good at getting the pitch right so everything drains correctly.  He is an excellent communicator and takes care of any issues that arise. This is the second job he has done for me and I highly recommend him and his crew.

Our driveway has been a source of embarrassement for many years. Matt and his crew made the front of our house look neat and clean. The driveway is absolutely smooth, well done and easy to shovel. The kids love playing on it and the patio. They can  ride their bikes up the driveway and down, now.  We don't have to worry about tripping over crumbled blacktop anymore. The presentation is beautiful and we have had many neighbors stop by to ask who did the work. We are proud and pleased to give them The Concrete Company's name and number. <br /> <br /> We can wheel our trash cans out to the curb without risk of injury! The area next to the garage is amazing. Matt ran the leader from the gutter under the driveway and out the other side so the water won't collect on the driveway and freeze in the winter. He designed the extra wide driveway, patio and front stoop to look slick and clean and so it would be an excellent presentation for our home. <br /> <br /> We were also able to get credit for paying in cash at the beginning of the job.
