The Concrete Doctor

Excellent. The owner Berry was easy to work with and he and his crew did an excellent job. We are very pleased with the quality of the work. I would hire them again for sure.

Did an absolutely excellent job. Better than we could have imagined. Installed 50 feet long drainage crevasse (1 foot wide). Exact right angle. Went from total flooding on driveway to perfect drainage now. Another contractor that was doing work on our house asked for his name to use as a subcontractor in future (liked the quality and thought the price was fair)

It was good for a short time but it is now sinking. I have left messages but he has not called me back.

Everything went perfectly. Spoke to Berry and he came out to take a look at the work and gave a quote via email the next day. He was able to schedule us a week later. Him and the team came out at 8am on the dot. They were professional and worked very efficiently. The team got everything knocked out in one day. They had a Bobcat and equipment to break up and takeaway the old driveway. The new concrete was poured and finished up on time. We had a small issue where a sprinkler head was broken due to being intertwined with a tree root that was pulled up during breaking up of driveway. They came back out and repaired in a couple days. They came back three days later and took up the wooden frames after everything was completely dry. When it was all done it looked perfect.

They did a reasonable job, not as neat as some other driveways I've seen. Main issue is that they used a concrete saw to remove old concrete, and it raised a lot of dust, which they did nothing to try to reduce. Mostly unsafe for the workers themselves, a minor problem for the neighborhood for the day.

Berry did an amazing job. Very courteous and left no messes behind. I'd use him again. He removed 2 sidewalks and poured one new one for me.

I was delighted to get this small but worrisome repair taken care of. They were immediately responsive and did the job the same day. I had a couple of concerns, and they were tended to promptly.

Perfect! Berry and crew are total professionals from the quote which was spot on and the entire job! Berry figured the pour within a tenth of a wheelbarrow load! I had used Berry Bowens' company before with great results, so called him again for the sinkhole. On the earlier job, he replaced a front walkway, did some step and wall repair, and created a way for water held on a parking pad after rains to drain. I was more than a little alarmed when I discovered  a sizeable sinkhole under a good portion of my driveway. I had one other recommended professional look at the situation and provide an estimate which I thought very high.  I called Berry who assured me that he had seen this sort of thing many times. He knew exactly what to do. Berry is very experienced and knowledgeable and as pleasant and congenial a person as you could hope to meet. He calmed my fears and gave me an estimate that included the "unforeseen," which I appreciated. The first step was to take the concrete up to see what was underneath. No broken pipes, no water, just tunnels and a sinkhole. The original foundation dirt was a poor choice, so Berry and his men added in the right mix, let it settle overnight, added a truck load of crushed rock and dirt, tamped it down with a heavy machine, put the rebar in and poured the concrete. It was smoothed to perfection, the place cleaned up, and I am good to go for the rest of my lifetime at the very least. :) I also want to say that he is on the job, making sure that things are done correctly. The men who were with him on the job worked hard (and it was hard work!) and clearly knew what they were doing. The driveway they replaced is perfect! He trimmed the cost because there were no surprises and things went smoothly. I am a very grateful customer and recommend Mr. Bowens, the Concrete Doctor, with no reservations. <br />

I obtained 3 quotes for this project.  Berry's quote was in the middle.  I selected The Concrete Doctor because Berry was very responsive and genuine.  I had already researched the work required to build a concrete retaining wall and driveway so that I knew what questions to ask during my meetings with the three contractors.  After meeting with Berry I felt very comfortable that he was the right person for the job.  The other two contractors were either way too expensive or not responsive.  I am very pleased with my new retaining wall and driveway. <br /> <br />

My wife and I were hunting Angieslist for a reliable concrete contractor and it was pretty hard to find the highly rated companies and availability for our tight window (2 weeks). <br /> After calling 3 contractors - 2 that actually came out and 1 that didn't even respond...I felt I needed a 3rd opinion and that's when I searched again and widened my distance... <br /> Mr. Bowens assessed my time constraint, set the day to come and give me a quote and sent me a detailed quote. Once, we accepted... we were off and running, with picking the colors for the concrete and the stamping pattern we wanted. <br /> Mr. Bowens is very flexible, in that, he uses text, email and phone to communicate, by sending pics of example work or links to the site for the color selection. This is very helpful to someone like me who cannot talk on the phone a lot while at work. Mr. Bowens was attentive and recalled every detail we spoke about in regards to the design and how I wanted the areas concreted. <br /> You will not be disappointed and the work is done quickly and its such a beautiful job. I'm very happy to have found The Concrete Doctor. <br /> Right in time for my kids party...sweet!!! <br /> Oh and we chose the flagstone look and couldn't be happier with it. <br />

Recently purchased an older home that had two sections of the driveway lifted and cracked apart by tree roots. I had to remove two pine trees causing the problem. Two other local concrete contractors had been contacted earlier, but neither even showed up; when asked they claimed they were too busy., and even if they had shown up, there was a waiting list for over a month. So I turned to Angie's List and found the Concrete Doctor. Berry, the Owner, and I text and phoned each other, and even though he was on another job at the time he was very responsive. I sent him photos and dimensions of the damaged sections and he gave me an estimate by phone. We negotiated the price and I asked him when he could start? He said, "if it's not raining, I'll come tomorrow at 9:30AM." The next morning, I was fixing coffee and heard the sound of sledgehammers on my driveway at 9:30 sharp! Music to my ears! Berry and his crew were organized, professional and very thorough -- and did I mention, hard working. They finished the entire job in one long day. The old concrete was broken up and removed, the underlying tree roots (they were as big as Boa Constrictors) were dug up and removed, and the replacement sections were formed, poured and finished. The concrete truck had been scheduled to arrive at the correct time and was in and out. Berry and his crew were friendly and careful not to damage the adjoining lawn or affect the existing drive. Yes, I. Would highly recommend this company, and would use them again any time. <br />

I contacted 6 different concrete contractors and only 2 contacted me back. Berry owner of "The Concrete Doctor" was one of them. <br /> Berry seem to read my mind in what I wanted. He came out listen to what I wanted, made suggestions on his concerns with water drainage, turn around arrangement and driveway layout. He contacted me back with a reasonable quote that was less than the other 1 quote that I got and was a bigger area that included reinforcement wire  and some re-bar that the other guy did not offer. I ask him to come back after I laid out what I wanted which was a little larger than he originally planned and he agreed to it without raising the price for his labor. The finished concrete  looks great and I am convinced will last for many years. There are many others out there trying to use his registered company name but don't be fooled by them there is only one Concrete Doctor and he is located in Douglasville Georgia. I know some people will think that I am just a friend or relative of his trying to give him a good review but I am not. Before this I have never even heard of the "Concrete Doctor. I am just glad to know there is still good honest contractors out there that will do what they say they will do! <br />

They were on time, efficient, pleasant, quick, knowledgeable and dependable. I had to go out of town and they completed the job while I was away. He matched the bricks he used to my own. They stuck to the price they quoted. He didn't charge me for travel time even thought he was an hour away. They were terrific.
