They arrived early with a large crew ready to go. They quickly organized, priced, and merchandized the whole house and garage. Overall the sale went well, but I can note that with a large crew, if there's a specific request, write it down to avoid miscommunication. They left the whole house clean - they even took the shower curtain! So again, if there's anything you don't want them to do, make sure to say so. These guys are thorough. And, we settled out the account within a week of the sale.

Great results, wonderful efficient team. Hard to reflect costs because proceeds from sale offset the labor. They were efficient and organized, pleasant to work with, great at keeping things cleaned up. They tailor their work to your needs. Know that in some cases it is important for the owner to take time to carefully lable everything so that items end up in the expected places: move, store, sell, donate, trash, etc.

They charged 35-percent of the gross sales. They were very prompt and thorough. They did a complete job from assessing the value of things, to promoting the sale, to conducting the sale and to cleaning up afterwards. It was a private sale. They distributed primarily to resellers that they knew would be interested in the kinds of things we had. We had a lot of art and finer furniture.

I have nothing but high praise for the services of the estate sisters. We relocated to a much smaller home in a different city and had to part with many of our items - furniture, clothing, books, bric-a-brac, etc. Although I had originally thought I'd arrange my own garage sale and sell items online, we quickly ran out of time for this. Mona and the Estate Sisters came to our rescue. They were highly efficient and professional, and did exactly as promised. They arranged and categorized things for sale, trashed or donated what they could not sell, and left the home we sold move-in ready for the new owners. The process could not have been easier or more reasonable fro the services rendered. Highly recommended.
Simple, completely satisfied. Mona and the team were not only capable and incredibly efficient, they were also sensitive to the emotional impact of this process and respectful of the challenges associated with an estate sale. I have already told anyone who will listen what an awesome service this was.
I do not have enough praise for The Estate Sale team. They did a superb job of organizing, selling, permit getting and cleaning up afterward. They are honest, efficient and informative. They KNOW what they're doing and we had no worries. I would hire them again in an instant - no hesitation.
After spending months trying to determine what should be sold or donated from my mother-in-law's estate, we called the Estate Sisters. A huge weight was lifted, and we learning that "next time" we should call them FIRST. All a family needs to do is take personal effects they wish to keep and leave the rest to The Estate Sisters! We could have saved many months of sorting.
We met with Mona first; who provided an overview of services and the process for liquidating the goods. We dealt with Betsy at the house once the process began. Large and smaller items were centrally located by type; utilizing indoor and outdoor spaces and tables. All items were cleaned for best presentation & outdoor tables of goods were covered overnight. Some areas of the home were taped off to restrict entry.
The Estate Sisters have a vast network of dealers who are contacted in advance for highly-desired items. Specialty items and collectibles are researched for best pricing and photos are placed on eBay and Craigs list as well as estate sale websites for maximum exposure. A pre-sale is held for estate sale subscribers, then a public sale. The sale itself is managed professionally and securely, with limited buyers on the property at one time; allowing the staff to answer questions/provide details on goods and avoid the potential for theft. While we were given suggested prices for some items, we were allowed to set a minimum, if desired. We were contacted by phone during the sale if an offer was made less than minimum and given the option to accept.
Once the sale was completed, all remaining items are bagged/boxed for donation. Betsy and Mona handled that as well - donating to the charity of our choice or using theirs. The home was left clean, with all trash and debris removed. Any items that could not be donated or disposed of (VERY few) were left in the garage for easy removal.
We highly recommend the services of The Estate Sisters. As mentioned earlier, they are very sensitive to the family's needs and circumstances while giving sound advice on what to keep/dispose of. When they ran across a couple of items they thought we might want but missed in our initial sort, they set them aside and called before placing them in the sale. This thoughtful touch was appreciated.
Cost of service not lised. The Estate Sisters is commission-based, so fees will vary. The fee we paid was quite reasonable, considering the work involved.

I contacted the estate sisters and set up an appointment immediately. Mona came to my home on time with lots of suggestions and recommendations. Since our HOA did not allow estate sales, she offered to do a private sale which was added work for her. I really think she did it as a good samaritan to help me as I attempted to dispose of my mom's home amid all of the emotional memories attached to it. She was very kind, knowledgeable, and professional. There was a lot left over and she had a contractor take all of the remaining "stuff" away. It was all done in one day! Amazing!
I highly rate and appreciate Mona and her staff. I would absolutely recommend her - unconditionally.
An excellent score is not enough for The Estate Sisters! Thanks, Mona.
There was back-and-forth for nearly 4 months about the disposition of ALL these items which had a great deal of sentimental value for the surviving spouse. It would be fair to say these furnishings and collections had been hoarded so that it was difficult at best to walk through the home. After my wife and I, with the help of additional labor had been working for several weeks to clean out and discard the unsalvageable trash, then pack and organize it for "donation" to causes special to the owner, he then decided that he would rather liquidate it than donate it to a good cause. Our choice of The Estate Sisters proved to be a godsend.... Mona and Betsey stepped right in and photo-cataloged the home with close-up pictures of the collectibles, organized, and cleaned the home to make the sale presentable. After a few days to clear some of the furniture, they then moved into selling the remainder of the inventory, which was now easier to mount with a less cluttered venue. For us, it was a great experience with a small army of dedicated people who accomplished so much in a relatively short amount of time; it all went off without a hitch and in the end, our neighbor came away with what he wanted all along.

There was a whole household of such interesting items that it was great fun for all our staff to sort through and organize. We had such a great turn out with returning customers everyday of the sale. Was so grateful for the efficient help of the Estate Sisters in handling the estate sale for our family. We were under a deadline having begun escrow for selling the house and they really went the extra mile to make sure everything was done on time. They were very understanding of our family's unique needs and made the moving-out process much easier and less stressful. Very much impressed with their combination of kindness and professionalism.
Upon sending an email to The Estate Sisters on Angie's List, I received a response within an hour. Mona met me at my parents' house the next day. My family and I had been sorting through 50+ years of my parents' belongings by the time I met Mona. I was looking at a HUGE assortment of belongings in the house and I was overwhelmed with the thought of dealing with all of it. Mona set my mind at ease, telling me that she and her team would deal with all of it! And The Estate Sisters were true to their word. When I left the house, every room of the almost 3000 sq. ft. house was jammed with stuff. Upon returning, the house was completely empty and clean! They did an amazing job! Mona was great at maintaining communication with me, and was very helpful answering all my questions and concerns. I highly recommend The Estate Sisters! Thank you, Ladies!

The responsibility of having to liquidate a loved ones estate can be daunting, especially if you have never seen it done before. After numerous proposals from others we selected The Estate Sisters. We could not have been more pleased!
Mona met us at the property and immediately put our concerns to rest by being very patient, thorough, and in answering all our questions. During the entire process our expectations were consistently met with excellent communication via phone and email.
The amount of work to liquidate and estate large or small takes a significant amount of work and time. Having the Estate Sisters handle all of the logistics and planning took a huge load from us. We highly recommend them!!
They were great. They worked with my schedule to make sure they could accommodate me. For the estate sale, my house was emptied in two days, and I made some money. They have a ton of contacts, and had customers waiting in line. For the unpacking and organizing, they worked tirelessly.
I am the trustee for my elderly uncle's health care, as well as his property, which is a small house and lot in Commerce which he and my late aunt (who died in April, 2012) had occupied since moving into it in 1948. Since my aunt's death, my uncle's health has deteriorated to the point that he currently lives in a custodial care facility. Since this was the only home my aunt and uncle had ever occupied, as you can expect, the house was full of STUFF. After looking on Angie's list for estate sale companies, and reading the various reviews, I decided to call The Estate Sisters to investigate their service offerings.
After a phone conversation, I met The Estate Sisters, Mona and Betsey, at my uncle's house and showed them through the loads of possessions which my wife and I had already cleared out of storage areas and begun to sort through. Other family members in the local area had already been through the home and selected various mementos which were of special interest to them. Having done so, they gave me the green light to proceed with clearing the house so it could be put on the market.
The Estate Sisters were totally professional. They presented me with a standard contract, stating up front what their commission would be, and what the cost was for optional services such as cleaning the garage, dumpster rental and ad placement in the Penny Saver circular. I gave them keys to the house about a week before the sale, and they came in and cleaned and set everything up in terrific fashion. The final accounting was pretty much what I expected. Mona was able to get a good deal on dumpster rental which was less than I anticipated. My aunt and uncle didn't have any collectibles of marketable value, so the sale consisted mostly of household goods, a bit of furniture, lots of artsy-craftsy stuff which my aunt had amassed, and some basic tools in the garage. All the good stuff had been gleaned by family members before getting to the sale point.
When I went to the house after the sale was complete, Mona met me there with all the keys, and paperwork consisting of a copy of the final invoice (all expenses were covered by the proceeds of the sale), a copy of the Penny Saver ad placement, and three receipts from charities for donated items that didn't sell. I netted just under $900; they earned absolutely every penny of their commission and then some. If I ever had to do this again, I'd call them in a heartbeat.
The Estate Sisters were great to work with. I'm a veteran of many year's worth of yard sales and I originally thought my brother, my fiancee and I might be able to clear out my parent's home with a few big sales. However, our attorney recommend the Estate Sisters and I'm glad he did. Once we met to discuss how their service worked, I realized that they had experience dealing with antiques and furniture that would help us sell more items at a better price. Their whole team was knowledgeable and helpful. They had an extensive mailing list and also a strong network of antique dealers. For example, my mom had LOTS of costume jewelry and they did a great job of packaging and pricing the many pairs of earrings, bracelets, necklaces and watches and they sold all of it. I did a walk-through the day before the sale and was impressed with their merchandizing skills. All of the items were cleaned up and displayed on tables throughout the house. We ended up selling more than expected. The process of closing out our parents estate could have been overwhelming, but their support and expertise helped us get through it. I have already recommended them to others.

My story of how The Estate Sisters where able to help me is a bit different than what most people think of when they hear "Estate Sale". My husband and I were married for 34 years when I lost him. He was a Ford mechanic and avid handy man. He not only had all his work tools but had anything you can think of for "home" tools also. And not only one of most things but 2 or 3. Several years ago my mom's husband passed away and he had built a separate workshop next to his garage. Knowing how handy my husband was my mom asked him to come and take what he wanted from the workshop. Also a few years back, my sister in law's father passed away who owed a welding shop. She too told him to go over and take anything he thought he might want. If I tell you that our garage looked like a cross between the tool dept at Sears and a Harbor Freight store I am not kidding. After my husband passed away his brother said that he would come over and go through everything and we would have a huge yard sale. Well, 2 1/2 years later the garage looked the same. I had no problem rolling up my sleeves and tacking it, but I have no idea what to price tools and it was just too big a job for either of us to try and do. Not knowing what to do I was on Angie's list one day and I thought I would just try putting in Estate Sales and see what came up. Lots and lots came up. I started going through them and much to my surprise there were horrible stories about most of them. I came across the Estate Sisters and read the reviews that they had. They were wonderful and seemed to reflect that they were also very carrying because most of the time they are coming into "do what they do" after a loss. I wasn't sure if I should even contact them because I had a garage full of tools and they normally are working with a home full of furniture and personal items but I figured I didn't have anything to loose so I sent them an email. I explained my story and waited to see if I would hear back. I received a call the next day from Mona. I was pleasantly surprised when she said yes; they did do garages and tools. She said that they would need to come out and take a look at what I had and then she would be able to tell me better if they could do it. They came out the next weekend, came in and talked for a bit and then asked to see the garage. I told them to meet me out front; I would go in and open the garage door. When the door opened and they got their first look there was a gasp. I had not exaggerated how much was in the garage and they soon agreed. They spend some time walking around (as best they could) and getting an idea of what the job would entail. We went back in the house and sat down. From the very first Mona and Betsy were wonderful. They told me how they wanted to handle it and what would happen. We went over the Agreement and both signed it so I knew from the beginning what would happen and how much it would cost. A week or so later Mona called me saying that they would be out the next day to start working on it. I am at work all day but from the beginning I was comfortable with giving them a key to my home. I came home from work the next evening and went out into the garage to say hi. I don't really know what I thought I would see but I was surprised when I opened the door. They had moved some stuff and set up a table and it was already piled high. They had started at the work bench and had bagged and priced even the nuts, bolt, screws, and ever other little thing that were in all the drawers. Mona had asked if she could hook her laptop up to my computer and she was checking prices for some of the tools as they went. That first night they were here until after 7:00. They are out of Long Beach and I live in Simi Valley so it was quite a drive for them. When going over the agreement Mona did tell me that she would need to add some travel charges because I lived such a distance away and I had agreed. Over the next few weeks they came out about 3 times a week and spent the better part of a full day and into the evening working on the garage. Mona called me a couple weeks in and said she would like to push back the sale a couple of weeks if I didn't mind. She thought that with some of the larger tools like the welders, huge tool chests and saws we would do better if she did additional advertising on them. I said no problem; you know what will work best. The sale was a Thursday, Friday and Saturday in December. They came out the day before the sale and by the time I got home from work that evening they had set up all their tables in my backyard and moved most of the stuff from the garage onto the tables which were covered with tarps. I have a big wrap around front porch and she did not want people up on it so she had put yellow tape up, keeping people from coming up onto it. They had signs in the front yard and also out on the street corners and Mona had walked my street a few days before handing out flyers and talking to all the neighbors. She had even put a sign on my front door that said what time the sale started and ended and to “not disturb” the seller that there were no "pre-sale viewings". The 3 days were painless. They handled everything and I was amazed. There was always a flow of people because they had done a lot of advertising. When it was all over they asked me what I wanted to do with what didn't sell. They boxed it up and stacked it back into the garage. They took down everything and packed up what they had brought for the sale. I went out to talk to Mona and found her sweeping the garage floor before they left. For several of the big things that did not sell she left me a list of ideas to possibly help sell them. She also listed the names of anyone that seemed interested in something that might contact me later. After they left I went out into the garage and was amazed. I had not seen the floor in years and it was spick and span. When they were taking some things down out of the rafters they had taken down my bins of Xmas decorations for me and they were even stacked on shelves. I can not say enough about Mona and Betsy, The Estate Sisters. The task of clearing out my garage was huge and since I didn't have the knowledge of what to price all these things I really didn't know what I was going to do, I just knew I needed to do something. They came in and from start to finish were amazing. By the time everything was over we had also become friends. They are so easy to talk to and very funny. The first day they came out while the 3 of us were sitting at my dining room table going over things we saw a squirrel, yes squirrel, run under my couch. I had a new puppy and had left the slider open a few inches for him to come and go, potty training. Apparently the squirrel has seen the opportunity to see what was on the other side of the door. I was like the "Christmas Vacation" movie, us trying to wrangle it from under the couch, through the dining room and into the kitchen. With the help of a few throw rugs Mona, Betsy and I herded him out the kitchen door. By the time he was out and it was all over we were in tears laughing. It bonded us from the beginning and they didn't even charge me anything to help get rid of the squirrel! P.S. I know longer leave the slider open for the dog...

The Estate Sisters came in and took a tour of the house. They were able to estimate the time to go through everything, organize how I wanted to dispose of items and what were of family importance to me that I wanted to keep. They were incredibly organized-- sorting through the garagre and household items, tagging them, and then ultimately holding an estate sale. The Estate Sisters were also tidy-- with so much boxes, wrapping, and other debris it would have been easy to leave a mess, but they managed it all extremely well, cleaning up as they went along and leaving the house and garage "broom clean" so I could then move on with the house. They organized a pick up from a thrift store and made sure trash was identified and ready to go on trash day. They handled everything carefully and with great precision. They turn my mountain in to a mole-hill. Hurray!
