First of all, the owner of this company is highly unprofessional and preys on women. Second of all, I spent a lot of money and did not get the quality I paid for. Three years later, the poor quality and mishandling of the projects is still causing me issues. I had a persistent leak under the sink cabinet that I hired a professional plumber to come in and fix, who told me it was plumbed wrong. I was told by the owner of Handy Hubby that it must be what I stored in the cabinet. He did not give me an itemized bid and then slapped white paint on the preprimed doors - the paint on there is so thin, it looks dirty. The stair treads were made from pine, and the stain and finish is rubbing off. He did not caulk between the backsplash and the granite counter. The ceramic tile is popping up in the guest bath after he charged me to lay a whole new subfloor. Tools and supplies and my own possessions were missing when they did the job. They used my garage as workshop and never cleaned the sawdust all over everything (never mind that I could not park my car in my own garage). They caused me issue with my HOA because they were dumping paint water down the drains. He asked for money before the job was ever completed. Complained to me that I could ask my father for money because he assumed he was rich. Completely unethical and unprofessional, and I am still cleaning up after the poor job he rushed his workers through. I know he works for a private company now, so he has no interest in the business he ran into the ground toward the last few years. I could have chosen to take him to court, but he is so smarmy that I didn't want any more contact with him.

We got his information off Angie's List. We've had him before to work out problems. We had an electrical outlet that didn't work. He returns phone calls, he gets us on a schedule promptly, and when he fixes something, it's fixed.

The project started off well. I was promised 2 bathroom gutted and replaced. They provided and installed everything except for paint and accessories for the bathroom (mirror, towel racks, additional tile design, toilet paper holder). Everything started off good, but as the job continued, I noticed some things that were bothersome. The paint job was less to be desired, quite sloppy. They borrowed some items from me, vacuum, shop vac, fan (which was not cleaned). After confronting the owner about this, he stated that he did not have enough room on his truck to carry these items. Tarps were not put down on the floors and nothing was put up to protect the dust from furniture. I was initially told that this would be done. When the workers were using grout, instead of powerwashing the remnants off of my driveway and sidewalk, it was left. It is November now and it's still there. They also used my garage to place all of the materials, which was fine. After the job was completed,I had to wait for a week for someone to come back and pick everything up. This included dry wall, boxes, packages, screws and nails, etc. They came back only after I contacted them after a week because I couldn't park my car in my garage. I spent 3 hours myself cleaning out my garage prior, so I could put everything out on garbage day. This was not in the contract that I had to spend my time cleaning up. I have had to have the owner come back 3 separate times because 2 hoses broke in each bathroom, which caused leaks, and my shower leaking. To this day, my shower is still leaking and they insisted that nothing is wrong. The company also installed 3 ceiling fans. The first day I came home to insulation all over my floor. The owner said that he had to leave quickly and he would clean it up the next day, which he did. Also I had two switch plates that were cracked as well as part of the wall surrounding it. The owner texted me after the job was finished to let me know that he had taken a shower in my bathroom because he was covered with insulation and needed to clean up. Really!!!! There was a hose outside. I thought that when a job was done correctly, your house should look just as good or better than before they job started. I'm extremely disappointed. To this day I still have to have a plumber come in to fix my shower issue. I also occasionally find screws on my driveway. I rated punctuality and responsiveness based on how quickly they came to pick up material and resolve my other issues after the job was "completed". My biggest mistake was paying the owner before the job was completely done and I had time to look over the job thoroughly. He stated that he had some health issues and it would be helpful for me to pay this ahead of time. I trusted, but have learned to never ever pay anything until I spend a good amount of time looking over everything with a fine tooth comb. Bad experience overall!!
Everything went really well considering we were not planning to replace flooring in the kitchen or installing a new sliding glass door. Our initial intent was to replace/fix the grout in the kitchen that was cracking and coming up. However upon further review it was discovered that the tile had not been appropriately laid initially. When removing the tile from the kitchen we found that our sliding glass door had been leaking and there was damage to our floor and the door needed to be replaced. Very happy with the results overall.
Things went very well. The only thing I would do different is to get the estimate in writing.

I needed a few miscellaneous things done around the house. He was courteous enough to come take a look and could stay to perform the few things in about two hours. I asked him to put some chains on my door, fix my Christmas tree lighting plug that the dog had chewed, install a cat door in an interior door, install blinds in my bedroom and some other little jobs. He was here by 9:00 and gone by 10:30 and charged a reasonable fee. He didn't leave a mess and did some of the sawing out in the garage or near his truck. I will be calling upon him again when I have a need.

The contract was for small bathroom remodel. I unfortunately paid before the work was done. The work was not done to my satisfaction. The tile floor was aptly completed. However, he broke the piping on sink during removal or replacement and expected me to pay for parts and labor. The walls were painted two different colors, the wall paint also ended up on the ceiling and other walls that were not protected and not suppose to be painted! The the switch plates were not removed prior to paint so you could see the underlying old paint. The painting also was done over cracked paint with no attempt to sand down.
As to the closet framing, the wood was gouged by him and not repaired.
I contacted him to review and explain these deficiencies with no return call received.
I would not have expected to have to point out deficiencies to a professional who should take pride in his work product.
In addition this job was to be completed in one day, over a week later, this job was not done.
Needless to say, I would not recommend the The Handy Hubby!
He contacted me right away as soon as I inquired about his service. He showed up on time and fixed my garbage disposal, and also offered me advice on how to maintain it. I was very pleased with his service.

A friend had made a mess out of installing my new storm door. The Handy Hubby took it in stride, fixed the mistakes and quickly installed the door correctly. He was also game to run the cable for me, as he finished the door early and wanted me to get my money's worth out of the time he charged. Nice man, quiet, professional. I'm looking forward to hiring him again!

.I was only going to replace the floor but then added a total remodel to both bathrooms. It took a little longer because he had other jobs to finish. He was very understanding and worked on my house around his other jobs. This worked out fine.
. My water heater went out while he was here working. He tried to fix it and helped me call Whirlpool for replacement parts. We had to do this 3 times by replacing circuit box and new elements before Whirlpool gave me a new water heater. Mr. Dubbs drained the old one so I could take it back to get a free replacement. He only charged me $100.00 for all that and hooking up the new one. I think that was very great service. He stayed late to get the new one in so we could have hot water. Not many service people would do all that for $100.00.
We are very happy with all the work that he did. I will be calling him again. We need new windows and garage doors. As soon as I save up more money to get all that done. It is great to know some one who does a good job and are in my area that I can call when something goes wrong.
