We did a complete deck remodel. He subcontracted with Ron Miller - who did an EXCELLENT job in a quick manner. Dave was paid in full. As a part of the contract he was supposed to come back and power wash the new deck and stain it. We contacted him several times over the period of several months - he eventually stop replying to us and never returned to finish the work. We will be pursuing legal action.

My deck was covered in mold and and looked extremely weathered. Following the service, it looks like I have a brand new deck. A "deck miracle" occurred! Fantastic work, would hire again.

Dave came and power washed the deck. Did a great job - and even cleaned up some wooden steps not connected to the deck. We need A LOT of work done to get it back into shape. He gave us a quote and we hired him on for the additional work. Will update when completed. Looking forward to it!!!!

Came to replace faucet. Next day popping sound when faucet turned on. Called the service provider, he said to open water lines fully (why didn't he do this when he installed it). Well I did as he ask and it didn't work. He immediately said the faucet was defective without coming out to check anything. Then said go buy another one and I will only charge you $49.00 to install it. We have been communicating back and forth over the still no resolve he was suppose to come today and look at it. When you pay for something you expect to get what you pay for. Please help
Response from TheHandyPros.com
"This issue has been resolved and this review was supposed to be updated to reflect that. The popping sound was due to the sprayer and diverter in the faucet itself. This is a manufacturer defect in those types of single handle faucet. We did everything for the customer that she requested and are still here for her if she needs any further assistance."

I approached to TheHandyPros to clean my deck and replace broken deck boards. They responded rapidly and provided quotation that is very reasonable. They conducted the work professionally. They replaced about 20 deck boards, sanded affected areas, and applied two coats of water proofing stain to entire deck, and replaced broken handrails. The work was well done.

Our deck looks fantastic now! we have an older deck and I wasn't sure that it would be able to be cleaned or not.Dave and the guys made it look awesome. They power cleaned it first and then returned and stained it later in the week.It looks great and for much less than replacing it , thats for sure! They also replaced a bad railing as well.

First, everyone knows that finding a quality contractor can be impossible in this day.Luckily, we found the Handy Pros and David. We had some water damage in our kitchen from a plumbing issue(separate) and Needed to repair our kitchen without replacing the whole setup.David and his guys really wnet the extra mile in researching our cabinets and finding the exact ones that were 10 years old.He even went and got them for us! The work area was impeccably cleaned every night and we couldn't be happier with the finished product. We will be hiring The Handy Pros again for anything we have that needs attention. <br>

It was fall 2016 and we were having some cold weather, but Dave had no problem with that - he just bundled up and kept going. Dave is very reliable and his costs are very reasonable, We have hired him for subsequent jobs including plaster work, painting and plumbing.

Oh Goodness, where to start. This is one of those moments where you make a decision to laugh or cry.... I had been saving for 12 months to do this upgrade, as I am a single parent of 3 teenagers. Dave came by multiple times to measure and the quote was $7,064 for the project, which was going to take 5 days for a pretty basic kitchen upgrade. The project took almost 4 weeks, where we had what seemed like every tool Dave owned in our kitchen and living room. As you can see from the photos, cutting the counter top in a straight lines, must have been an optional extra, I didn't avail of. The grout was missing in multiple areas, but I did find out where it went... all over my cabinets and appliances, which is proving difficult to remove without damage. ( see photos) Imagine my surprise when I pulled out the fridge and a whole section of tile was missing. I am now afraid to look under the other appliances. ( see photo) Installation of switch plates is apparently an optional extra too, if you want it to fit flush against the tile, without spaces or have more than one screw ( see photos) you apparently have to request that. The piece of wood panel, is apparently the matching/stainless steel side of the washing machine. THE BEST PART he came in almost $700 over budget, WITHOUT consulting me and expected me to come up with the money the day before he finished. I discussed with him in the beginning that I could not go over budget, but he did mention at one point it may go $100 over. There is a vast difference between $100 and $700. When Dave says "trust me" you'll love it ...RUN.
Response from TheHandyPros.com
"This Job total was at 7200.00 dollars not 7700.The initial estimate was for 7064.00 without changing every electrical outlet in the kitchen which was done and at the end of the job, not even billed for.SO THE TOTAL WAS ONLY 136.00 OVER THE ESTIMATE FOR A FULL KITCHEN UPGRADE . I told this customer that this work needed to be done before it was completed .The tile was not completed under the fridge and oven because the water line leaks and needs to be replaced and the gas line has no shut off valve in the kitchen and the tile would have to be taken up anyway..We also completed several jobs in the kitchen free of charge that aren't mentioned of course.I apologized for any miscommunication that might have occurred to Ms Granger and did everything i could to try to make her happy.I am shocked that she would give an F for any service performed as our work ."

Dave was very friendly but that's the only good think I have to say about this company. I asked him to install a water line on a fridge, move a ceiling fan from one room to another and install another ceiling fan. He sent his worker who had. O idea what the job entailed when he showed up so he was completely unprepared. The worker then sat and read the instructions for the fridge before going to the store to get the needed equipment. After what seemed like hours the fridge was done. Then he moved to the ceiling fans which took about 5-6 hours on what should have taken about 3. Dave the boss had to come to the house after about 6 hours of work to help the job get finished. Fast forward a few days.... my husband noticed water leaking into he basement. The fridge was leaking. We call Dave. He said he's going to come by that week to look and fix the problem. We never heard from him again even after I sent another text. The ceiling fan also was a half-fast job considering he forgot to install one piece which I guess is more cosmetic so I'll let it go. BUT Fast forward about two months..... our ceiling fan now wobbles and looks like it's about to fall and makes more noise then I've ever seen on a fan. And we have the same one downstairs which is super quiet. My husband now has to fix the fan somehow so it won't fall on us. Lastly I sent him a list of odd jobs he said he could do for us. I never received an email or quote back so I guess he wasn't interested but thankfully so because would definitely NOT recommend these guys for anything!!

The owner promised an early start to the job, but the company did not show up in either of the first two work days. No one from the company called to let me know about the delay. This happened three more times, such that the weather became excessively hot. The final work was of poor quality, and it looked like my deck had been stained by someone who didn't really care what it looked like, with the old stain not being covered in many areas, and also not between the deck boards so that the deck was 2-toned. The owner refused to come out to look at the end result, despite my telling him the work was unsatisfactory. I would never use this company again, and I would recommend against anyone else using them. I have used many Angie's list companies, and have been very satisfied with all except this one.

The bathroom remodel was horrible - tiles are crooked, grout is messy, the paint job is so bad you could see the old paint color through the new paint. The shower won't drain, the sink drain plug pulled out of the sink the first time I used it. Complete subpar quality. I do not recommend The Handy Pros at all.

Dave was supposed to install a new storm door on the front of the house. I purchased the door and had the door on site for him to install. The first day, he ran into some issues with the construction of the entranceway and stated he will have to return with different tools to complete the install. The second time, Dave installed the door on the entranceway, but ran out of time to install the closers and would have to return a third time. Dave also advised me a ground sweep would have to be purchased as that was not included with the door. Dave graciously offered to go and purchase the proper ground sweep and bring it with him when he comes to finish the install. We scheduled the third visit and Dave did not show up, text or call saying he needed to reschedule. I got a text a couple days later stating he is very busy and would get out as soon as possible to finish the job. Dave texted on Sunday 5/16 about 9 am stating he will be coming out between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm to complete the install. He arrived at 1 pm. I had a prior engagement that I was running late for and decided pay Dave for the job as he would be completing it before I returned. Later in the afternoon, I received a text from Dave stating he installed the ground sweep on the door, but was unable to install the door closers due to the door jamb being poor quality and made of foam instead of wood, he stated I would have to purchase and replace the door jamb with wood to complete the job. The next day, I looked at the door jamb to find it IS made of wood and not foam as he implied and saw that he had drilled several large holes in an attempt to do the install along with cracking the wood door jamb at the bottom as well. I was able to complete the install of the door closers on my own in about 20 minutes. As I completed the install myself, I noticed why he was having so many issues. He installed the mounts backwards on the door itself which did not let the door open to 90 degrees so I switched them and the door opens to the proper 90 degrees. He was also trying to use plastic anchors for the screws in the wood that are designed to be used in drywall, not wood, which should be metal anchors so they bite into the wood, if your going to use them. The holes he drilled into the door jamb were way too big causing the screws to come out and not bite into the wood. I'm not a contractor by any means, but I was able to figure this out very easily and fix the issues he was having. The only thing left now is to fill the holes and cracks in the door jamb he left from his install attempts. I was very disappointed in the quality of work done on this job as well as the inability to complete the job. I also feel cheated financially, as I in good faith, payed Dave prior to completion, so he wouldn't go without payment when the job was complete only to find I had to complete the job on my own the next day.
