He wanted a down payment of half which we paid them. He said the work would be started sometime in December and now he's gone. I left 2 messages on his office phone number and I visited the office today and he's no longer in business. He never started any work and I'd like my money back.

On Oct. 7, 2019, I entered into a contract with Matt McQuiston, President, The Home Improvement Company, Inc. and paid him a down payment of $3,427. The remainder would be due upon completion of the window installation which was scheduled for December. On Oct. 10, 2019, I sent a text regarding the installation date as my check cleared the bank. I received a call from Mr. McQuiston advising that he would be back in touch with an estimated installation date for the first or second week in December. As I didn't hear from him, on Dec. 2, 2019, I sent a text which went unanswered. On Dec. 7, 2019, I sent a follow-up text, no answer. On Dec. 9. 2019, I called and learned that the company had gone out of business. I requested a refund and sent letters to Mr. McQuiston electronically and via U.S. mail on Dec. 18, 2019. The same day, I received a notice from the bankruptcy court. Seems that there are a number of customers he did this exact same thing with. I will reach out to the Hamilton County Prosecutor's office. On August 28, 2019 I signed a contract with the company for the replacement of a window and paid $836.00 as down payment for the project. At that time, the company president/representative Mr. McQuiston stated that the work would be scheduled for completion at about the end of October, 2019. The check was cashed promptly. In late October, 2019, I had not heard anything back, so I contacted McQuiston on his mobile phone. At that time, hestated that the project would be delayed another 3 weeks. After 3 weeks, on November 19, 2019, I sent him an email inquiring as to the project schedule. As I had not heard back, the following week (approximately November 25) I called both the mobile phone number (317-710-1565) and the office (317-219-5525). At that time, McQuiston's mobile phone voicemail message stated that The Home Improvement Company, Inc. had gone out of business. The office message was unchanged, and I left a message on the office phone regarding the appropriate path forward for return of my deposit. No one got back to me. Today I received in the mail a notice of bankruptcy filing for The Home Improvement Company, Inc. , Matthew Lear McQuiston. The case is number 19-09112-RLM-7 and was filed December 12, 2019. There's a creditors meeting January 14, 2020 but the form indicates there is no property available to pay creditors.

Owner Matt McQuiston provided a quote to replace our front door and patio door in Sept. 2019. We were told it was a busy time and he woudl schedule us for late November. We had provided $1700 down to get the doors ordered. We started calling in mid November to ask about install dates. Phone goes straight to voice mail, and the website is down. Looks like he has taken money from others without doing the work. Avoid this contractor.

Matt McQuiston came out to our house to give us a quote for replacement of a patio door unit in September 2019. We contracted to have the work done (estimated to be done in December 2019), and paid a down payment for the service of over $2000. I called his cell number today to see when we would start the project, and the message says the company went out of business due to "unforeseen circumstances" and the voice mailbox is full. The office number goes straight to voicemail. No work was performed and I am out $2000+.

Owner Matthew (Matt) McQuiston did an estimate at my home in Carmel mid September '19 for total window replacement. We signed a contract, agreed on installation the first week in December because he said he was "completely booked" with work till that time. Given he had done other homes in my neighborhood it seemed reasonable. He took my deposit of $6,000+ and "put me on the schedule". In late October I spoke with Matt and requested to move the installation earlier, he said not possible as his crews were still busy and had become behind due to bad weather, I spoke with him again in mid-November and he confirmed the first week in December. I called last week to confirm the installation date and there was no answer. Calls went straight to voice mail and messages were not returned. I checked and the company website is gone. I then went to the Company's address in Noblesville 15223 Harriman Blvd., Suite 2 and the office was dark/empty. The tenant in the adjacent office said "I don't know what happened but a couple weeks ago he seemed to have taken what was important out of the office and left, didn't pay his rent and left a mess to be cleaned up in the office". I then called Angie's List who hadn't yet received a complaint. I was urged to write this review to help ensure others aren't at a loss with this Company. Beware of MATT MCQUISTON as he took my money and disappeared, this is a very unfortunate (unresolved) situation. The situation was also reported to the Hamilton County District Attorney and a police report was filed so hopefully others are on-alert as well.

Our brick ranch house was in need of TLC on the old fiber board siding, which my wife and I have painted four times ourselves. We wanted to make the exterior maintenance free with a good quality vinyl siding. We contacted five separate companies, four of which were listed in Angie’s list, to get estimates. We chose The Home Improvement Co. They were neither the highest nor the lowest estimate. We based our decision on the reviews in Angie’s list, pictures of the work that had been accomplished on other jobs, and Matt’s straight forward honest presentation. Matt convinced us that one of the most important details of this work is an experienced crew that knows how to work with the material. We had chosen the insulated backed vinyl siding. The crew (Kevin and Rueben) and Matt arrived Friday and started the demolition on the west side of the house. We were having all the old siding removed and replaced with new board, moisture barrier, and the vinyl siding. They completed that side including cleanup in one day. The whole job was completed by the following Friday. The crew was great. They were friendly and professional, and they worked well together as a team. They answered any question we had and honored any request we made. They also wrapped all the windows and doors with aluminum coil. They transformed the exterior of our home. We are completely satisfied. We comment to each other every time we pull into the driveway how good our home looks now. We still plan on replacement windows and a new back door. The Home Improvement Co. will be first on our list for consideration. Thank you, Matt, Kevin, and Rueben, for a job well done.

Owner Matt McQuiston was friendly and thorough in preparing our quote, and kept in touch throughout the project. His crew went about their tasks with quiet good humor and attention to detail. I would hire them again. He deals in fiberglass windows and doors, and they appear to be excellent products.

Matt was extremely responsive and consultative during the sales process, far more so than some of their similarly well reviewed competitors. It took several consultations to get just the right door and windows selected, during which Matt was very helpful and patient. The installation was a little later than initially expected, though I said I wasn't in a hurry. The installation started and finished on time. The crew was professional and respectful. I was impressed with the quality of the installation. I would absolutely use the home improvement company again.

Matt was quick to come give me an estimate and never made me feel pressured. His quote was much more reasonable than the other three quotes I received. I did receive a little bit cheaper quote on windows from one of the other companies but the salesman was very pushy and I didn't feel comfortable working with him. There was a slight miscommunication between Matt & the door manufacture regarding the finish on the door but Matt handled it and got the correct door re-ordered even though it caused a delay in the original timeline. Matt's crew was very friendly and efficient. I felt very comfortable having them in my home and they cleaned up very well after themselves. They did a great job installing the windows and doors and I'm looking forward to the money I will save since these are much more energy efficient than my previous doors. The front door adds a lot of curb appeal that was missing before. Overall I would highly recommend The Home Improvement Company.

So the guys came and put in the door. No wood left for me to try to match stain to and none provided by Matt as promised, and as mentioned in earlier review. Now found out when we went to stain doors that there was a pretty big gap left at the top between the new door frame and the wall, thus anything such as cold air, etc. could get in. Not only that but on the side, the shims that they put in were there and never caulked. Also, the top piece of trim around the new door was loose already and we have hardly used the door. Not very pleased with this and feel that Matt thought I was a dumb because I am a woman and treated me as if I knew nothing. I needed the wood that they had as not all wood takes stain the same way, as I tried to tell Matt, but he would not get the wood to me as promised. Feel that he promised great service and did not deliver. Would not use again.

Awesome! HIGHLY recommend! Rick came to my home for an estimate. He arrived promptly and he gave me a lot of good information which helped me make a decision. He educated me about what to look for in windows as well as what set Home Improvement apart from other vendors. The in-home visit was followed by a trip to their showroom to see the full size window. Installation day was excellent. They arrived on time, started work promptly and completed the installation of three windows in a few hours. They were very respectful of my home and my pets. Their clean up was spot on both inside and outside. Owner Matt was on-site and available for most of the job. Follow up after the installation was excellent. I think one hallmark of an outstanding company is not only how well they do the work but also how well they respond to a problem. There was an issue with one of the windows and it was resolved promptly and very satisfactorily. If you are considering window replacement, give Matt and Rick a call. Excellent service. Excellent product. I love my new windows! They will be replacing my downstairs windows this spring.

I had 8 windows, 1 door with storm door and a patio sliding door installed in June, 2017. Has made a big difference in the comfort of my home. Matt the president of the company measured for the windows himself. He was so meticulous in measuring. When the windows were installed Kevin Cleary did the installing. He was not in a hurry and the windows fit perfect when he was finished. Interviewed several company's but was so glad I chose The Home Improvement Company.

Fabulous! Matt, the owner, was helpful and professional in suggesting the right windows, and was not a high-pressure salesman, as we experienced from some other companies (and did not like). The windows, which are beautiful and preserve the look of the house, were installed ahead of schedule and done with precision and care by Kevin and his assistant. Matt frequently checked in to make sure everything was going ok, and made sure that we were satisfied. We changed our minds about wanting some interior molding that was in the contract, and Matt quickly took out that cost. Later, we decided to add some additional work around the door frame, which Kevin was able to do quickly. We still ended up paying less than the original estimate. This is a terrific company, with quality products and excellent workmanship.

Very well. Order came in & it was incorrect. Had to redo. Worth the wait. Very professional.

It went very well. We were blessed with wonderful weather in February and that's when thy came. They were contentious. They made sure the doors were straight and the windows are very nice. After they put the windows in they put the aluminum trim back up. We had around 20 windows installed. We got a new front door with side windows and patio door.
