Arrived on time. Work quote was fair and in market average pricing. Repair Tech was very professional. Cleaned up mess afterwards. After months of hard rain, no more water penetration into basement through settling cracks. I would definitely use them again.

From the time we received the quote to the work being completed it was an awesome experience. Everything was completed in a timely fashion and exceeded our expectations. Kevin and his crew are good people. Each day they cleaned up after themselves and updated us on their progress. Overall it was a great experience.

During the summer of 2017, we had water intrusion from the heavy thunderstorms. The water came in from one of our basement window wells and soaked the drywall. We had to have the drywall removed and remediated for mold. At that point, we hired Leaky Cellar to repair the cracks and remove and fill in the window well where there was water intrusion. We had used Leaky Cellar approximately 2 years earlier to patch cracks on the opposite basement wall, and their work was superior. Kevin showed up promptly for the estimate and immediately decided the best way to keep water out of the basement - patching cracks, and filling in the basement window well, which we did not use, as well as removing a concrete slab adjacent to the foundation outside and earthwork around the foundation. After a brief discussion we decided to install a sump pump, as well. Due to a large amount of business, they could not get to our house until February 2018, but that was all right with us, since they had done good work at fair price for us previously, and clearly a lot of others felt that way, too. They showed up the exact date that they said they would be available, and unfortunately, I was out of town for work. It did not matter, they set about their work efficiently and kept my wife informed as to what they were working on. The completed all work within 2 days, and this included temporarily moving our A/C unit to remove the concrete. The work was all done to our complete satisfaction at the price stated. They had an A/C company come out and re-install the A/C unit. A few months later, when we switched on the air for the warm weather, we found the compressor was not working. I phoned Leaky Cellar to let them know that our unit was not working and Corrina immediately called the A/C company and had them come out and see what was going on. It turns out that the valve to the compressor had been closed and not re-opened after re-installing it. The company (Air Solutions) and Leaky Cellar re-opened the valve, installed new coolant, and installed a new capacitor - free of charge! This was truly exemplary customer service by both companies. There was an issue, and they worked quickly to resolve it, no questions asked. I will be using both companies in the future. Thank you, Leaky Cellar! Definitely, defintely recommend!

I recommend reviewing the work order and be sure all the work to be done is listed. Based on my first impression of this company I feel like this is not a common complaint for this company. I would like for them to send me the 5%.

Repairman showed up a late, explaned he was hungover from a football game the night before. He had not reviewed the notes from the visit to provide me an estimate, so I had to explain again. He was able to to remove drywall and identified where he thought the leak was coming in and sealed it. One of the reasons we selected this contractor was they claimed they could have "their drywall guy" come to provide an estimate for repairing the drywall removed to observe the basement foundation. Unfortunately, once the work was completed they were unresponsive to requests to provide contact information leaving us to find someone on our own. Not a huge deal, but not exactly professional.

While doing the work, the company crushed the sewer pipe and failed to admit their wrongdoing. It cost me an additional $4,000 to fix the broken sewer pipe, which they refused to pay. Will not use them again since they can’t properly complete a job without causing more damage.
Response from The Leaky Cellar
"We entered into a contract with this customer to install some dispersion pits in his backyard. At the start of excavation, the customer was on site to tell us about his sprinkler system. Kansas One-Call was previously called and utilities were marked for excavation. During the installation of the dispersion pits, we never came into contact with a sewage line, nor was there any indication of a sewage leak in our open trench. There was no smell from a sewage leak. The job was completed on Oct 9, 2017. On Oct 27, 2017, the customer contacted us and told us to give him $4000 for damage we caused at his home (there was nothing provided in writing). Johnson County Wastewater was contacted and they indicated that a private sewage line had collapsed in the area of our excavation. I contacted my customer and explained to him that the collapse could have been caused by our working in the area of the line, but we didn't come into direct contact with the line and never knew the line was even in the area (being a private line, it was not marked). I offered to help with the repair of the line, but that I couldn't do the work for free, as he requested. At this point, the customer (a lawyer) threatened me with a law suit if I didn't respond to his demands by the end of the day. We have a 12+ year history of being an A rated contractor and honest in our dealings with our customers. If we hit a marked line, we repair it for the customer. We sincerely try to make every customers experience with The Leaky Cellar a stress-free, enjoyable experience."

I had a problem with moisture in my floor, had another foundation company come out, didn't really even look just told me what they do in houses the age of mine, huge estimate. Leaky cellar came out and found the crack in 5 minutes, had it fixed in less than a week. Very thorough and rofrssional, friendly guys. Would definately recommend them!

In 2013 I was out of town on a trip. My wife called in a panic because water was coming in through a crack in the basement wall. We had lived in the house for 20 years with no issues. Recently we had new sidewalks poured which disrupted the water flow from the house. This caused water to seep back into the foundation. The Leaky Cellar came the next day and provided a fair estimate and repaired. When I returned home I was very pleased with the work, timeliness, and price they charged. A less reputable company could have taken advantage of the situation. Recently we had the annoying water seepage in our stone foundation. The Leaky Cellar proposed various options to address the situation. They recently installed interior drains. The men were very professional and answered all my questions. For a messy job, they left the basement in good shape. I was very pleased with the work, price, and professionalism. I would recommend them to a friend.

I feel like the success rate around Kansas City when it comes to contractors and service providers is pretty poor -- people that won't call you back, or don't show up on time, or don't really know what they're doing. But I've worked with The Leaky Cellar twice now and it's been such a refreshing change. They show up on time, do good quality work that matches my expectations and the estimate, and are friendly all along the way. I don't feel like I'm being taken advantage of and I don't feel like their employees are being taken advantage of, they're just good people.

Well. I think that the estimate was fair in spite of the fact that I was very concerned. I felt that Leaky Cellar sensed and cared about my sense of urgency. Customer service (and Colleen by phone) was super. We have a part II to our agreement and I feel completely confident that they will do the best thing for my property. You know what they say about 'you've sometimes got to kiss a lot of frogs'...been there; done that, but The Leaky Cellar was the best recommendation I've received and I got their name from Certified Water and Mold Restoration, LLC. I highly recommend them, also. These companies do not take advantage of consumers!!!

I have used the Leaky Cellar several times to address foundation leaks in my home. The service comes with a lifetime warranty and I have been pleased with the work performed. In Spring of 2016 I contacted the Leaky Cellar due to a modest leak from a storm in an area they had previously repaired (warranty support). Staff on site were pleasant and professional and performed the repair quickly. Shortly after they left I noticed that they had dripped product on carpet in my basement hallway and stairwell when they exited. This unfortunate situation was addressed by the Leaky Cellar owner (Kevin) by funding the cost of replacing the carpet in the impacted areas. I could not of asked for anything more. To me this illustrates a level of commitment to good service and customer satisfaction that deserves to be shared.

The house has been watertight ever since, the basement has been because that’s where the concerns were. The work was not intrusive, in other words there wasn’t a lot of foundation or yard damage or anything. They were just very careful. The guy was about as courteous and nice as could be. He cleaned up his mess. I would recommend them to anybody.

They so far haven't honored the warranty but a day after posting this review on Angie's List they called and scheduled a service call in 10 days so hoping eventually for a good outcome.
(Update: They did come out to fix the cracks at the scheduled time. I was not the one there at that appointment but they did find us in the computer system as they apologized about the time and said because of the negative review posted here they were willing to offer a discount on repair of another crack if we decided to have it fixed.)
Response from The Leaky Cellar
"We apologize for any inconvenience and the communication issues. Before we can resolve the issue please call us at 816.753.2300 with information regarding who you spoke with and if you called the 800 number, if so than you were reaching out to the wrong company. I'm not sure what this is all about we are not seeing the address above in our system. We do stand behind our warranties and as far as being able to fix a repair immediately, we have to go by the schedule with the next available opening. Please give us a call to resolve. Thank you"

Superb! First off, the customer service and response time was great! Kevin came to the house to assess and ended up giving us a wealth of information and education to help with potential "problem spots" in and around the home. He gave us options instead of directing business only towards him (aka: wasn't trying to make a quick buck)--THAT alone makes me trust him and his business which is HUGE in today's world. We need more business owners like Kevin--ones we know are not trying to take us for a ride on the financial train! Hats off to Kevin! If we ever need him in the future--we will not hesitate to call him! I HIGHLY recommend The Leaky Cellar! Many blessings to Kevin and his business.
It was pretty difficult job considering all the water that needed to be diverted. They got in and got the job done asap. This spring was the real test and we have no inflow of water in the basement of our 100+ year old house. It's like a miracle. We are very pleased and I can't express how much improved my allergies are since there is no standing water in the basement. I would recommend them without hesitation.
