The Memory Mender

Donnie from The Memory Mender was very responsive from the get go. He finished on time and the price was very affordable compared to others we had priced out for the same service, although honestly we received quotes from non-carpentry refinishing masters. I hired The Memory Mender based on Donnie's responsiveness and professionalism as well as the reviews from Angie's List and I am very pleased with the outcome. The whole story is I hired Donnie based on email communications from another state, I am TX and he is in WA, on my mothers behalf who needed this work done in her home. He provided great suggestions and options that made my mother's vision of her cabinets come to life. Needless to say, we are very please with the service and product this company. And being in the real estate industry, having experience dealing with subs, its is nice to find a company where they are professional, on time and do great work. A combination hard to find! Great job and I would obviously suggest people use your services.

Went well. Easy drop-off, turn around in about a week. Went quickly and smoothly. Re-stuffed some couch cushions with extra-firm foam to help retain the shape.

The hope chest belonged to my mother and was finished in a very dark stain so the wood grain and color was unrecognizable. Ken stripped the chest and refinished it in a clear finish so that the walnut wood showed off its beauty and workmanship. We were amazed at the transformation and now proudly display this chest as a finished piece of furniture. The entire project was completed in less than two weeks to our surprise. Thanks to Memory Menders for their workmanship and great customer relations.

From the first contact to the completion of the job, Memory Menders did a fantastic job. Ken came out and was very knowledgeable about what to expect and selecting the best finish. The job was completed on time and for the price quoted. Given the size and comply of the job, I thought the price was very fair and was much cheaper than replacing.

Ken Osborne with The Memory Mender did an excellent job! The nightstand looks like new, even though it is 56 years old with much wear and tear. You can't tell where the piece of wood was missing. Ken has my highest recommendation to anyone looking for woodwork refinishing. As a matter of fact, I am taking him some more pieces of furniture to be done.

The Memory Mender did a job beyond my wildest expectations. The finish is beautiful. Ken managed to fix the bottom using the original cedar. The shelf works perfectly as well. The cedar chest looks absolutely lovely. It is now a valuable piece of furniture. I can't thank Ken and Liz enough! They really know their stuff.

I greatly liked the customer service and how my chairs turned out.

It was a low media center not quite three feet in height. We had about four feet of water damage. We took the furniture to them because they charged by the mile to pick it up and we lived about forty miles from them. They were very good to work with. I think the price was fair. They were very responsive and gave me the quote via text. It went very quick.

It went great. They finished ahead of schedule and did a terrific job. I highly recommend them. The price included pickup and delivery with a high end fabric.

Both chairs look great and look better than the remaining chairs at home that didn't need any repairs. Can't even see where the crack was! Very professional and responsive. I would definitely use them again!

Ken's refinishing team, led by Donnie, did an excellent job on all four of these separate projects we had done by Memory Mender during 2016. The stripping projects were done in a complete manner, the distressing of the coffee table nicely matched a desired "look" based upon pictures we provided, and the "worm wood" coffee table involved a sub that Ken recommended for some needed professional saw cuts. We are pleased with the results and will use Memory Mender again.

I love Ken at Memory Menders, have used his services several times over the years, always cheerful and fair. Most importantly, he does outstanding work! Worth paying his pickup and delivery fees, if you need it. If you do, check out his cute van!

The Memory Menders are WONDERFUL. I spent several months looking for someone to put the head/foot boards together. It wasn't until I joined Angieslist that I found The Memory Menders. The craftsmanship of joining the head and foot boards together is flawless and the refinishing of the pieces looks better then new. The Memory Menders are very talented craftsmen.

All the work was beautifully done, and he was wonderful to work with. He's also been out to fix a small issue of my making on site. I would highly recommend him to anyone! I even have a few more pieces to have him take a look at soon.

We are extremely pleased by The Memory Mender's work and responsiveness. <br /> When we discovered the rails that allow the table to extend and accommodate leaves had cracked (actually more like split along the grain), we went to the major retailer from whom we'd purchased the table and an extended warranty ... only to be told, "The warranty doesn't cover that."  So after  <strong>M</strong>y <strong>A</strong>gile  <strong>C</strong>ousin <strong>Y</strong>ancy <strong>'s</strong> blew us off, we sought out a couple of repair businesses on Angie's List. <br /> Another offered an equally attractive price for the work but wanted to charge $115 per hour for pick-up and delivery. Heck, my mechanic doesn't charge that much to work on my car, and they're just driving. The Memory Mender was much more accommodating and reasonable. <br /> He came out to our house to assess the damage, then gave us an estimate. He also worked hard to find quality parts economically, installed them professionally, and refinished the top so that it looks new again. <br /> He and a helper picked up the table, he did the work, and the pair returned it to our home in about 10 days. We are LOVING it! <br /> We very much appreciate the workmanship, attention to detail, concern for their customers' budget, and their overall integrity. HIGHLY recommended. <br />

It was a pleasure. I was visiting my parents in Bellevue from where I now live in NYC. I've meant to have this dining table that survived a devastating house fire restored, but, hadn't found a restoration place that didn't cost an arm and a leg. I gave Memory Menders a call. They put me in touch with several past customers as references. Everyone had the same experience that I've now had. They all said they once they used them, they've kept using them. And that is what happened to us. They restored the dining table with such love and care, that we continued to have them restore other damaged pieces that once sat in the storage room. Items no longer lovely to live with, but, too sentimental to part with.  Now the cherished pieces are once again part of the home. I've shipped the dining table out to New York City where it is now the heart of my home. Many memories from the table and now that it's been restored thanks to Ken, many memories still to make in the years ahead. The Osborne's are professional, knowledgable, and very reasonable. They follow-through on their word. You'll be in very good hands. <br />

Look great did a really nice job.  Very friendly and provided pick up and delivery for additional fee.

Pleasant on the phone and in person.  Certainly, fine people.  Picked up the piece and delivered it.  No problems there.  The desk was just not stained the mahogany color we wanted.  It was much lighter. <br /> You asked if I'd use Memory Menders again--maybe.  It's not yes or no.  It's maybe. <br />
