Roland is amazing. Really nice guy. Honest, hard working, and wants you to be happy at the end of the project. I have hired him 4 or 5 times now.

Roland is extremely helpful and accommodating, with tons of experience and a wide range of expertise. He gave good advice and did quality work, and we're very pleased with the results. He's in demand but came over whenever time in his schedule opened up, which we really appreciated. We will definitely call him again for future projects! Thank you Roland!

Roland was professional and timely. He came to repair a garage door that lacked a counterbalance and a fence that needed new hinges. I was told he was going to be a few weeks on an estimate due to demand and he came when we agreed he would and managed to get me on the schedule sooner than anticipated. The repairs took about 5 hours, 1 more than he anticipated, but he stuck to the quote he gave me and remained professional and courteous throughout all our interactions. I would definitely recommend him, and certainly plan to call him for future projects.

I was literally overwhelmed at how great Roland was and how impeccable his work is. You just cannot find people that have pride in their work and care about 'customer satisfaction' anymore. I hate to say this, but I will be glad when I need repairs again, that is how good the projects went. I just wish there were more than 5 stars!!

I have worked with Roland for several years. He is a homeowner's or renter's touchstone when it comes to trustworthiness and integrity. Sadly, he can't do it all, so I have to turn to contractors I don't know and then, (yes even those with high paid ratings on Angie's List) I get lousy results and outrageous prices. So, sometimes, when I'm feeling defeated, I just come to Angie to look at the New England House Doctor's reviews to remember that there are good and decent people out there. So, thanks, Roland! And, Roland - remember - you need to remove the mattress and boxspring and paint the porch (already paid you!)

Roland was wonderful. His estimates were fair, he arrived on time, kept us informed of any issues that arose, and worked with us to find cost effective solutions. We will definitely call upon him in the future. His work excellent, and we were very pleased to have found him.

Roland was professional and successfully installed the wrought iron railing inside our front door area. He reviewed various installation options with safety being a key component so the railing would be strongly anchored to the wall. He did not waste time and cleaned up thoroughly after. Would DEFINITELY use Roland again and highly recommend him.

Roland was fantastic. He was prompt and courteous in communicating with us to schedule an appointment. He came on time and did exceptional work on our door. He was patient with us and took the time to answer all of our questions and explain our options. He's just an extraordinarily affable and personable guy who clearly enjoys helping people out with their house. After he did marvelous work on the door he spent some time exploring a few other issues around the house and giving us a sense of the options. Cannot recommend Roland enough. 10/10. You should not hesitate to reach out to him - he's honest, helpful, and dependable. We definitely plan to use employ his services moving forward.

Hiring Roland for the job was the perfect decision. My kitchen had previously been remodeled by someone else who never finished the work. Roland came in and finished all of the remaining work and I couldn't be happier. He was professional, hardworking and considerate of the needs of the project and my time. If you have trouble reaching him just try again he's worth a second attempt.

bouncy staircase, needed to be fixed

I had to fire him. He had no license, no insurance, and never showed up when he said he would! How can this person/company even be on your list???????

Excellent! Roland was extremely responsive and came out to provide a quote promptly. His quote was in line with our expectations of where it should be. He removed and replaced wooden cedar shingles on the exterior of our home - and he made it appear as if there was no damage in the first place. Great attention to detail and he explained the work he was doing which helped us forecast work that may need to be done in the future. We would hire him again!

"House Doctor" is an apropos name for all Roland offers. He has been an excellent, tenacious troubleshooter with the odd assortment of ailments effecting my 120 year old home. He's knowledgeable, professional, and his fees are beyond reasonable. I highly recommend Roland and New England House Doctor for all your home's aches and pains!

Work went well, done on time, very efficient

We hired Roland to install a custom-made Murphy's bed, desk and cabinet combo. This review is limited to his work on the cabinet install. Although he said he had experience with finish work, it's clear from the pictures that he is not a finish carpenter and had no business doing this job. He didn't use a miter saw (or else didn't use it properly), so the trim isn't lined up, and he didn't drill pilot holes for the screws so he stripped the wood in multiple places. Basically, he didn't know what he was doing and we're going to have to hire someone who does to fix the trim. I emailed him to discuss this and he never replied. He is a nice guy, but I feel that he treated us unfairly by taking on a job he was not qualified to do.

Excellent. Handyman was fair, honest, professional and more than capable. Job ended up being much more difficult and time consuming than either of us anticipated yet he stuck to his agreed price. Wonderful stress-free experience, highly recommend.
