Victor came out and did the work exactly as promised.  I could tell very quickly that they were professionals.  Clean up and follow through was good.  I would use them again. <br />

Dan and his team did an exceptional job on our floors. The floors look great and are holding up well under my families constant abuse.  I took three bids on the project and now know that I made the right choice. Thank you Dan! <br />

The overall experience with the New Floor Co. was excellent.  Dan Paik is the owner of the company.  He quickly responded to my initial call, came to my house and evaluated the job and prepared an estimate promptly.  Dan came across as very competent.  I felt secure that he knows wood floors inside and out.  After accepting the bid, I was introduced to Victor Munoz.  Victor is lead installation man in the company.  Victor is a real craftsman and perfectionist.   <br /> My house is pretty old, built around 1908.  The job required a good amount of leveling to make the floor look uniformly flat.  Victor did this artfully.  He went under the house to secure and strengthen the subfloor where it was loose.  The doors needed some cutting to accommodate the new floors.  Victor even fixed things along the way that were not functioning.  For example, my front door opened and closed roughly.  He fixed it in no time flat.  Two other people were on the job with Victor, Gi (his brother) and Deshawn (brother in-law).  Both worked very hard and contributed their know how to completing the job.  Aside from being very hard workers, all three of these guys are very pleasant, professional and total gentlemen.  By the time the job was nearing completion, I actually felt like these guys became friends.   <br /> After all is said and done, my floors look awesome!  The team at New Floors Co met and surpassed my expectations.  I highly recommend them. <br />

They did a good job. They were here for 5 days. There was a lot of glue residue which took some time  to remove (more than a day) before they could proceed with the refinishing. They seemed very knowledgeable and knew exactly what they were doing. They sanded and also put down two coats of sealer. They also did a wood transition strip treatment between the living room and hall way. I let them come up with  suggestions or recommendations to how it should look. They really did a good job; the floor looks great. These guys seem to be real top of the line, providing good quality.

I looked up highly rated wood floor installation / refinishing companies on Angie?s List near my home and The New Floor Company was one of the three I contacted.  Before I even called anyone, I checked that all the companies had specialty flooring contractors licenses (C15) and that their license and insurance were current on the CA state licensing board.  I wouldn?t go with a general contractor for this work.   <br /> <br /> Dan came out to my house to do an estimate and gave me a few options as I wasn?t sure yet what should be done about the patch where the floor furnace vent used to be and about refinishing the rest of the wood floors.  He examined the wood floors and took a few scrapings of the wood for testing.  He took the time to explain each option and how much work it could take.  When I got the written proposal later that day, the three options were written clearly from least expensive to most expensive and were easy to understand.  Although he was willing to do the work the next day, I told Dan to wait a few days as I was expecting at least one more quote.  By then, my wife and I decided on interlacing new wood floors at the patched area where the heater floor vent used to be, staining the laced-in wood to match the rest of the floors, and lightly abrading and recoating all the wood floors with polyurethane to give it a fresh new look, which was the mid-priced option.  When asked, he gave a 5% discount for members of Angie?s List.  <br /> <br /> The other quote came in for the same scope of work and it was not as competitive as Dan?s proposal.  Upon giving the job to The New Floor Company, they started the next day.  Dan was careful in stating that he cannot guarantee a 100% match on the stain of the new and old floors, but upon checking his work in progress, it was apparent that the match will be very good.  They finished the work on the 2nd day and my wife and I were very happy with the results.  I could no longer tell where the two floor vents used to be.  As an artist, my wife is very particular about aesthetics and she couldn?t tell the difference either.  The rest of the wood floors are looking great too. <br /> <br /> The New Floor Company does quality work at a reasonable price and I?d hire them again or recommend them to friends and family. <br /> <br />

They were good. Everything came out great!

The New Floor Co did a floor repair/patch wear our old floor furnace use to be.  They matched the current wood, latticed it in and spot sanded it. <br /> They were punctual, professional and did a very good job of  matching and blending in the new patch to the old floor. <br /> We will use them again.

It could not have gone any better!  They were clean, professional, quick and did excellent work.  When they left, the floors were perfect and brand new while matching the style and color of stain as the original flooring.  If you are looking for a flooring guy who does excellent work at a reasonable price, look no further.  He was not the cheapest, he was the middle of the 4 quotes I received...but keep in mind, if you pay for peanuts, you get monkeys....or something like that!

Dan was very responsive in bringing samples and eager for the work.  We chose a 5" maple flooring, that was a light beige color.  What we got was an all-over-the-place color palette that makes the floor look like a patchwork quilt instead of a flowing harmonious look. The range of wood goes from white, to a grey/brown taupe.  Why the installers chose to lay contiguous boards of one color and contiguous boards in another color, is something that baffles me.  I have come to learn that maple comes in various colors, but had I known this upfront I might have gone with a different kind of wood.  So communication was an issue on this. <br /> <br /> I sent Dan pictures of the floor and finally, when pressed, he offered to come over and look at the floor which we found unacceptable and he thought was fine.  We're the ones who have to live with this and it's not okay.  I asked him to replace the boards that I found too outside the color palette and he told me he would have to replace the entire floor and it would be the same problem with the variations in color (which were not reflected in the original samples I was given).  If someone tells you they will redo your job but you'll get the same results, why bother? Because we are not happy with the work he offered to forego the last payment on the job, but again, paying anything for something that does not meet your expectations is money poorly spent.  Having said that, it was a reasonable of Dan to make this compromise even if we have to live with the end results. <br /> <br /> While the installers did a professional job as far as removing carpet, floor repair and reinstalling baseboards etc., their aesthetics left a lot to be desired.  I had another contractor look at the floor and he was horrified that anyone would stand behind this work at any price.  <br /> I'm not someone who enjoys giving bad reviews and would have been thrilled to say we were 100% satisfied but this is simply not the case.  It doesn't mean that Dan isn't a nice man, but his standards and ours did not match up.  It's the quality of the work and customer satisfaction that matters in the end.

A very good experience.  Dan gave us several options to consider and provided some good recommendations.  The tear out could not have gone better - the guys took out the carpet, padding and old hardwoods and cut them all into managable pieces to reduce the clutter in the back yard as they worked.  The home was built in the 1920s and there were some "interesting" obstacles in terms of angles and subfloor issues, but the guys always made a solution and the outcome is beautiful. <br />

They're highly  recommended, they do excellent work and color matched existing floors perfectly.  The owner honored the 5% Angie's List Discount he offered at the time as well.

Dan, the proprietor, was quick to come out to our vacant house and give us an estimate.  We were trying to get the floors done prior to moving in to the house, so there was a tight time frame, with other types of work that had to be delicately scheduled around the flooring job.  There was a bit of a scheduling snafu, created by a worker who fell ill, that would have jeopardized the floors getting done when promised, but Dan managed to step up to the plate and get it done as originally scheduled. This was most appreciated.  He also gave us a discount on top of the Angie's discount to make up for our trouble.  This also was most appreciated.  We were quite pleased with the way the floors turned out.

I may end up choosing them at a later point. They were very professional. The actual person, I think his name is Drew came out twice to my house and looked at the floor because my floor is unique, so he had to match the flooring. I was happy with the time he took with me.

I had them come out a couple of times. They did a great job. The people who came were nice.

They were very good. They were very thorough. The only issue that ever arose was that I had talked to the owner about moving furniture and the workers said they never move furniture. I told them to talk to their boss and they did and they moved the furniture. Once that was resolved they did a very good job. I was very happy with the results. I talked to three other companies and two were in the same range. Another one was way out and another company didn?t contact me until after the project was done. The price was fair and reasonable. I didn?t have any buyer?s remorse. They were very responsive and I would definitely hire them again.

Dan screened, cleaned and re-coated 1 room that was looking a little worn, as well as spot coating a few damaged areas. The whole job came out looking just fantastic, and Dan managed to find the time to do it on short notice. Not only is he a craftsman with a great eye for detail, and great knowledge about hardwood floors, but he's also just a genuinely nice guy. I will most certainly be using New Floor Co again. They were very good. They said what they were going to do and they did it on time and go out. The floor looks beautiful. They showed up on time. They explained what I needed to do to keep the floors nice. They were awesome!

Dan returned my phone call within an hour on a Saturday evening. We made an appointment for Sunday morning and he arrived on time and options without my price range. He was very thorough in examining the space and even performed multiple moisture tests on various parts of the concrete that is under the carpet. After consulting with many other contractors I had pretty much given up on installing anything but a cheap laminate given my budget limitations and HOA underlayment requirements. (Some contractors have all but laughed in my face when I disclosed my budget and indicated I was interested in engineered or 100% wood.) Dan found a beautiful hand-scraped engineered wood within my budget. He then went above and beyond by dealing with my HOA in researching where to find the required underlayment and alternatives since the required one was not readily available in local vendors. We began work on Wednesday. Vic and Gil were very friendly, polite and considerate. Vic took very precise measurements and found our room to be MORE lopsided than we knew it was (one room is a crooked rectangle and the other a hexagon with a 'V' shaped hallway connecting the two). Additionally, the concrete underneath was not leveled. Vic took the time to explain everything to me, then factored in options of how the wood could lay and what the outcome would be like in each scenario. The floor turned out beautifully and the cuts were very precise - as I mentioned earlier there are a lot of odd corners. It took 4.5 days to finish. They were punctual. I especially appreciated that they worked very neatly and were considerate in cleaning up after each day. When they finished on the last day they had even swept the patio that they were cutting the wood on and left it cleaner than it was when they started. I only have one minor critique. Dan and I had originally agreed that a base-shoe will be installed around the perimeter of the floor. I assumed it would be a finished base-shoe and did not think to ask whether it would be or not. As it turned out the contract only covered an unfinished base-shoe so now I have to go back and paint. It would have been nice to know that it was going to be unfinished initially so that I may possibly have had the option of having them install a finished one. Overall, it was a pleasure to work with all of them and would definitely recommend their services in the future.

Dan Paik and his crew are very professional. Dan has 30 years of experience in the business and an in depth knowledge of materials available. I was ready to settle for wood I had found on my own, but when I showed Dan the sample, he had other suggestions. The flooring I choose with his advice is gorgeous and has held up perfectly with two large dogs. My living room was done more than a year ago and there's not a scratch on it. It was the perfect choice for a place that gets wear and tear--yet, it's absolutely beautiful. What impressed me the most about The New Floor Company is their attention to detail. The moldings, the doorways and transitions to other rooms, and especially my stairways are perfectly executed. The crew is polite and easy to have around, and they clean up after themselves. These guys are the best. This is the 4th home I've owned with wood floors, and the other companies I've used in the past do not measure up to The New Floor Company.

They were in terrible shape. He did excellent work. He was very, very careful. There was a lot of restoration work. I would absolutely hire him again.
