Overall, the project went very well. Jose, Dan, and their crew were amazing in their professionalism, craftsmanship, and providing solutions to unexpected challenges. The only drawback would be the manufacturers delays getting the product that we selected. The delays were outside the control of The Paver Company. They were very cost competitive and we would hire them again.
Response from The Paver Company
"Thank you so much [Member Name Removed]! We are so happy that you choose us to complete your project. We are sorry about those delays with the manufacturers and we will continue to do all we can to make sure our customers get what they need."

The Paver Company installed a path from the mailbox to the front door and in front of both side windows. We shared our ideas on the path design. George improved on our ideas and made it even better. Chance was very friendly, professional and helpful thru the whole process. George and Jacob do outstanding work and make a great team. The job was done ahead of schedule and the total cost was very manageable (Thank you Dave). The company was excellent in communication, keeping us informed throughout the whole process. If another project comes up we will call the Paver Company.

Excellent! Quote was reasonable, crew was exceptional, quality materials, love the overall look. Add-ons - the company accomodated our scheduling with the HVAC crew, who removed the old HVAC unit before The Paver Company began work, and they added a drain system to whisk away the lake that always seemed to form near our garage door. Very helpful during design process, in picking out the right pavers for our project. They even agreed to put down the weed barrier and bark in the area we had selected for the flower bed - even though pavers are their specialty. We would definitely hire them for future projects, and we are also recommending them to the curious neighbors who wanted to know what was happening in our yard!

Excellent work - fast turn-around. From start to finish a pleasant experience. Very helpful during the design phase, and the installation crew was outstanding. Came out BETTER (20x30 patio, in pavers) than I anticipated, which is always a great surprise. I HIGHLY recommend.

The Paver Company did an exceptional job on our very long, uphill driveway. They met with and provided info to our ARC so we did not have to. They started the job on time and completed it within their estimated timeframe. They kept the yard neat and cleaned up after themselves. They were professional and matched a lower bid and the finished product is beautiful. We met with many concrete/paver companies and we're so pleased we selected The Paver Company. I would highly recommend them.

They were well organized and responsive to my questions/concerns. The installers were courteous and efficient. I had 3 estimates and The Paver Company had very competitive prices. Labor is covered for 25 years and the stones for life. I was very happy with the company as everyone I had contact with was helpful and courteous.

VERY BEAUTIFUL!!!
There were a LOT of curves and a lot of creativeness needed to make our vision come to reality!
The backyard isn't even finished and we have had 3 parties!
We just couldn't wait to enjoy the pool and patio (and fire pit) - even if it was just marshmallows & a duraflame log!
We felt taken care of and felt we got our money's worth!
They can do small projects and they can do HUGE projects! (even are in a Belguard commercial)
http://www.thepavercompany.com/

John was very clear about the job and what it would entail, and his crew was punctual and respectful. Once complete, they left my yard clean and hauled away any debris or trash, which I greatly appreciated. They were super helpful and even gave me some help on other projects I was working on at the time. Most importantly, the patio is beautiful and our backyard is a place we can enjoy now. I would highly recommend the Paver Company!
It went absolutely great. We requested bids from at least four different companies. One Company gave us a lengthy spiel and initially quoted us $20,000, knocking it down eventually to slightly over $15,000 after we practically fainted if we paid cash and put up a sign in the yard. However, it was unwilling to show us how it arrived at the price, or provide us with a line item listing of costs. Or tell us whether there were cheaper options that would work for us. Plus the options on product were limited to a highly priced paver. And then it wanted us to sign a contract that day and and quot;lock inand quot; the price or it would go up, which got me suspicious. Another Company quoted us $15,700 and while it provided us with a line item listing of the costs, it had tacked on all these surcharges such as dump fees that indicated to us that ours was a fairly small project for them, but it wanted the same amount of profit as a large project. Plus it said it would take weeks to finish as they came and went. Another Company vastly underbid the project and did not specialize in installing pavers. A fourth Company didn't even return my phone call after leaving three messages while they were having advertising a so-called and quot;special.and quot; When Dave from the Paver Company came to bid, he was a breath of fresh air, He showed us and explained all the paver prices and costs of installation, told us that we could get what we wanted using a lesser priced pavers, and provided all the guarantees and construction quality of the higher priced companies. He didn't pressure us and over the next couple of weeks answered all my questions and concerns, and responded to all my inquiries. We decided to go for it and have not regretted the decision for a minute. When the day came to install, the crew of four showed up, began working and really didn't quit until after 5. We were very impressed. They had to demolish the old concrete that was at least 6 inches thick, pick axe and regrade the clay subsoil, and lay the foundation for the pavers. Then they had to lay the pavers and complete the requested design that included a free-flowing border. These guys were good, and head installer Charles was great, making sure that I would be happy with what they were doing. It took them only two full days to complete the project. There were no surprises and everything pretty much went exactly as advertised and what Dave told us. The difference between and quot;beforeand quot; and 'afterand quot; is like and quot;nightand quot; and and quot;day.and quot; people that have come out to check it out have been very impressed. I totally recommend this Company for its transparency, honesty, professionalism, workmanship, and quality from start to finish.
"Thank you [Member Name] for the kind review, we appreciate it! We are VERY happy that you are pleased with your project and our services, we do aim to please. A big part of the reason we started The Paver company in 2010 was to be able to bring affordable quality paving stone work to our customers and we never get tired of hearing how much people love their new paving stone area! We also understand that unhappy customers are much more prone to complain, than happy ones are to compliment, so we thank you for taking the time! John Brightenstine Owner"

,
We could not be happier with the results. Absolutely outstanding. We have had a lot of work done to our home and yard since we moved in 5 years ago. Of all the contractors and their representatives we have worked with and interviewed, the Paver Company and its owners, John and Steve, were the best in customer service, follow up, problem solving and best of all in value to cost.

For this job, we interviewed 4 different companies before selecting the Paver Company. They were the only ones that actually listened to what we wanted, provided realistic suggestions without trying to make the project bigger than it already was. Their bid was more than competitive for the same work as the other bidders. They provided a number of cost saving tips that didn’t diminish the results in any way. They were open to changes, and even made some recommendations for changes as things started coming together which resulted in an even better result. The best part was that a number of the changes did not result in additional costs. The only cost increases were the result of additional work we added as the project progressed. They did not nickel and dime us to death for minor changes.

John and Steve are very professional, helpful, friendly, responsive, and great at listening and following through. Their crew are also professional , skilled and very respectful. Unlike a number of other contractors that you rarely see the person in charge or the person that actually came out and provided a bid, John and Steve both came out, looked at the proposed project, provided the bid, and then were with us throughout the entire project.

The finished product is worthy of Home and Garden…simply beautiful. One of the best things is that their service didn’t stop at the end of the project. As we found minor flaws, they were very responsive and corrected any problem and never charged a penny. Even 1 and frac12; years after the project was finished, they responded immediately when we found that a few of the pavers on our stairway became loose.

Foreman had not communicated with company owner before beginning placement and seating of pavers. Consequently foreman laid paver border in wrong direction, then tried to make a case for leaving them that way since they were already in cement. It makes the path look narrower visually. Later in project, elevation was too low coming out of front door and pavers had to be removed and elevation raised. Overall quality was good, but these issues seemed unprofessional.
Response from The Paver Company
"Dear [member name removed], I’m happy to address some of your concerns for you and I am sorry to hear that you are not 100% satisfied with your project. Unfortunately though, this forum is the first I am hearing of it? We can be reached at (916) 222-8844 or info@thepavercompany.com. As with the elevation changes you mentioned that had to be redone to your satisfaction, we are happy to make changes to satisfy our customers. These items are most easily addressed and remedied while we are still on site and can make changes. After reviewing your file I see that the border was indeed changed from a runner (6” wide) to a soldier (9” wide) to help and prevent any more future root issues like the ones that destroyed your original concrete walkway that we were replacing. The 9” wide soldier border and subsequent 9” wide concrete bond beam footer beneath it is MUCH stronger than a 6” wide runner border with only a 6” wide concrete footer, which is why we always use the 9” version for driveways that have to hold up to the weight of vehicles. In your case, it was suggested by the crew building the project after excavating and exposing the massive root issues on site, that the BEST way to help guard against future root intrusion was to go with the stronger soldier border. Sometimes the crew knows better than the designer and function trumps form for best practices but rest assured the subtle “narrowness” is only visual and your walkway is still the full 4 foot width you paid for and in fact is much stronger now as well. I also see in the file where the change was made and signed for at the time by you. If now after the fact you aren’t happy with the change, you know we are very easy to reach and to work with. Just like how we made the elevation changes for you, we are happy and eager to satisfy. But as mentioned, this is the first I’ve heard about it and the project was finished on October 10th. 2013. I can’t fix it if not given an opportunity to do so. That said, please feel free to call us if you would like to change back to the runner border? Thank you, John."
