We have plantation shutters inside the house. The company had to reinstall several windows to be able to open these shutters. There is one bedroom window that has extreme condensation on the inside of the window. This window is also starting to have mold growing on it as well. Mitch(the owner) had us contact the window manufacturer to make sure it wasn't from their end . I set up an appointment with them, they came out and checked it. At this point they said that it was the installation. I have been trying to get back in touch with Mitch from Thermal Windows and Siding for about a month and a half with no response.

George their sales rep came out and gave us a quote. We then had Mitch come out with George to talk about the windows and got a great rate. When the windows came in 2 windows had to be replaced. Nick was the foreman and got that taken care of for us. Talked to Nick about the screen in the master bedroom he said he could not fix it but would order a new one. It is now March of 2013 I have been calling them since August and have got no call back nor any response. Very disappointed that they are lacking in customer service. I am upset with the fact that even where Nick had cauked the windows that the cauking did not adhere and air is seeping in. Extremely disappointed that my new screen in the window has never been replaced after I even talked to Mitch the owner. Not to mention I had a question about the dent in one of the windows that looks like it happened at installation.
The installation was messy and allowed air to leak in around the new window, company's attempt to fix were not successful.
The company took offense to previous negative review (requested from company online to rate our contractor) and added it into the lawsuit they brought against us.
Excellent. From the owner Mitch to the salesman George to Nick and his Dad who did the actual installation, all were professional and good to work with. Their price was the best of the 3 bids I got, although to be fair the comparison was not apples-to-apples among the 3 contractors. One bid used aluminum-clad wood, another a composite; Thermal bid using triple-pane solid vinyl windows. They were careful checking the measurements and kept us posted on progress. Nick and his Dad worked quicklly, even in 90+ heat, usually leaving early afternoon. They were good about cleaning up -- no debris left over. They were also good about keeping the inside of the house clean and meeting EPA requirements to avoid spreading lead dust (our house is over 80 years old). Took them about 5 days to install after the windows were manufactured. No complaints at all. Hope I never have to do any of this again, but I have no hesitation recommending them to anyone who needs window replacement.

My satisfaction with Thermal Window and Siding began with a quote provided by George at the time of our initial consultation. We had received estimates from several highly rated Angie's List window and siding companies for a Pella Proline 3-light casement window. In addition to the new window, we were interested in having siding replaced on the front of the house. The other window companies quoted a fixed/open/fixed window configuration as any additional open windows would incur an extra fee for the requisite hardware. The Thermal Window & Siding estimate included an open/fixed/open window configuration and was cheaper than any of the other estimates (more than a thousand dollars cheaper than one of the estimates)! Similarly, the siding work was more affordable than any of the other estimates.
Shortly after engaging TW&S for the work, we discovered an ant colony residing in the existing window. As part of the ant colony removal process, my husband decided to open up the window seat beneath the window to check for any moisture therein. Oh what an unpleasant surprise! Rotted 2 x 4s and flooring! Nick (the window installer expert) came over and provided an estimate to repair the window seat for $625. Not bad for the amount of reconstruction that was required.
When the new window arrived, Nick and his father installed the window AND repaired the window seat all in one day! The work area was left in excellent condition with the window seat and window trim installed beautifully. My only disappointment with the new window was that the exterior trim didn't match the style of our existing windows. At no extra cost, TW&S purchased brick window trim and the window crew returned to install the molding being careful to get everything sealed back up as it had been before.
A separate crew came out another day to do the siding work. Our job included what I'm told is 3rd story work along with many angled cuts due to the location of the siding replacement. The 3 person crew worked all day replacing cedar bird boxes and removing damaged cedar and replacing it with Hardy board. They were careful to make sure the corner where the replaced boards met existing cedar boards lined up. Our original cedar siding was resting directly on the roof which increased the weathering of the boards. The new installation was done with the siding off of the roof with an attractive trim piece added. I am SO pleased with both the window and siding work! I will definitely call upon TW&S when I need another window and/or siding job!

Overall, our experience was rather disappointing. Our past experiences with this company include replacing 14 windows, and those projects went flawlessly, so we really felt let down by this door replacement. The door was ordered in January 2012. The actual construction of the door and storm door took about 2 extra weeks from the estimate we were initially given. Also, *we* had to call our representative and the office a few times to get updates on the progress (rather than the company calling us to keep us posted on the project), and half the time there was no answer at either number. Even after leaving a few messages with both the rep and the office, we still didn't get all our calls returned. Eventually, we were notified when our door was finished and arrangements were made for the installers to come out. When they did come out, about mid- March, we were happy to see that it was Nick and his father (they installed our windows) and they always do top notch work (originally we were told another crew would be coming out, and it was one of those guys who came and did the final measuring on the door before it was built). As a testament to how good Nick is at his job, the first thing he did when arriving at our house was re-measure the door and frame, and his suspicions were confirmed: the door frame was not the right size for our house. So we waited another 6-7 weeks for the right size frame to be built. Again, we went through the ringer of having to call the office and our rep a couple times in order to find out what was going on and when it might be finished. After the second or third call went unanswered and messages were not returned, I had finally hit my limit of patience and left a curt message on the office voicemail requesting an update on the door progress and a request to speak with the owner, Mitch. My call was returned later that afternoon by Mitch. I expressed my displeasure with the delays on the project itself, as well as the frustration of not having our calls returned and not feeling like we were kept properly informed. Mitch apologized and explained his side of things. He informed me that an issue with the storm door was the thing holding our project up. He also explained that his office manager was on vacation (a possible explanation for our calls not being returned) and that our installer had a recent death in the family. He agreed that some kind of compensation was in order for our troubles and offered to take $200 off the remaining balance of the project. I informed Mitch that we were willing to wait until the installer was ready to return to work, as we have had nothing but good experiences with Nick. Mitch then informed me that his office manager would contact us when the storm door was done and the install could take place, about 1-2 weeks. It ended up being more like 3 weeks, but eventually the door and storm door made it to our house and finally got installed. With our past window projects, we always paid the remaining balance after receiving an invoice in the mail a few days after the project was completed. In this case, we received no invoice or bill in the mail, and about 2 weeks after the project was completed, Mitch called to say he hadn't received our payment. I told him I just assumed my husband would've paid the balance, had he received something in writing (whether it be from the installers or received in the mail), which we hadn't. Mitch informed me that our original contract for the project served as the invoice and the cashed check would serve as our receipt (again,a notable difference from our window projects). I proceeded to write down all the needed information (where to send the check, who to make it out to, the amount to pay with the consideration of the $200 discount, etc.) and we sent the check out this morning.
*Note: we would like to make special mention of the installers, Nick and his father. As mentioned above, they installed 14 windows in our house over the past couple of years, and we have nothing but great things to say about them. They are professional, punctual, friendly and most of all they are good at what they do! I'm so thankful that Nick did a double check on the door frame measurement before he ripped our old one out, seeing as the frame was the wrong size! The only reason we would probably use this company again is solely because we know Nick and his father will do a great job with whatever we would need them for.

Very welll. Initially, the owner and sales person came to our home in late February and my wife and I were very impressed. No hard selling; no hard pressure. The installer, Nick and his Dad, Karl, came on scheduled and completed the job to our superior satisfaction. The cost of the windows was high (which is the only negative.) However, we got high quality window replacements and I know it will add value to our 37 year old home.

I was impressed with this company from start to finish and felt that they were a quality company who had a good product and were dedicated to customer satisfaction. All measurements taken were right on, and the windows were installed perfectly. At our initial meeting they clearly identified the product, the process that would follow, and the timeline. Everything turned out just as expected. During the installation, everything went very well and they were careful with both the inside and outside of my home, cleaning up and removing all debris. It has been seventeen months since my windows were installed so I have had time to see how they have performed, and I am still totally satisfied. So much so, that I am in the process of having this company install a new steel entry door for me.

Again, I have only good things to say about the company. Brad again came out to discuss the work that we wanted down and provided me with an estimate. Once the windows had arrived, work was completed promptly. There was a problem with one of the screens noted at installation (but the installer) and he has ordered a new one (really this is minor). There are two changes from last year: the window equivalent to what was installed then has now been upgraded (so we actually had a slightly better window installed) and the installation people that came used a much milder smelling glue in installation (so no strong toluene odor - and likely a "greener" choice). Both changes were for the better. We are very happy and will use the same company with the replacement of our last 4 windows in the future.

This story starts with the estimate. Mitch and George came to our house to give us an estimate. They answered all of our questions and, while it is not in our nature to do this, we accepted their estimate during the visit. We believed they were honest, sincere, knowledgeable and experienced. We also felt they gave us a really good price.
Two days later, I was second guessing myself. I was worried about the hasty decision we'd made and reviewed the paperwork. I worried that perhaps an error had been made in the specifications because the price really was a good one. I was right at the 3-day cancellation limit and honestly, freaked out a bit. I put a stop payment on the deposit check. Then I called Mitch. He called me back right away. He assured me that I was getting what I thought I was getting. He wrote in the missing specs on contract and emailed me a copy of the corrected contract. He even wrote in an upgraded glass because he wanted to make sure I was happy (I didn't hold him to it.) I felt bad about the stop payment I put on the check. He said not to worry about it and said I didn't owe him a dime until the job was complete. (How nice was that??)
When the windows came in, the installation went great. It took two days. The two men (Nick and Carl--I think I have that right) who installed the windows did an exceptional job. They were a pleasure to have around. They were neat and tidy. The used the special exterior trim we'd purchased and made sure the windows were watertight and solid (they had to replace one rotted sash). I really can't say enough about them. They didn't just figure out how to use the trim. They figured out the best way to use the trim. I felt like they treated our house like their own.
After the installation, I found I couldn't lock the slide-down screens in place. George came out to check it and couldn't get them to lock either. He had a Pella warranty guy come out. He showed me that it just took a little more force when the windows were brand new. All in all, our experience with Thermal Window and Siding was exceptional in every way. I would recommend them to others and will use them to replace the remaining windows in my house. They are very responsive to the customer.

Mitch Thompson came out to speak with my husband and me. He worked around our work schedules. We had in mind what we wanted and after talking with Mitch and seeing his window that he suggested we chose the window he showed us. We wanted the inside to be wood like the Pella Windows we had purchased and installed ourselves in a patio room in the past 4 years. We found thru Mitch's demonstration that our Pella's weren't very energy effecient. We were thinking that the price of the Triple-Pane windows that Mitch showed us would be out of the ball park in cost. But they really weren't at all. They were safer (has a lock so the window doesn't go up past a certain point), they were far more effecient in energy savings AND they have a layer on the inside that we are staining to match the woodwork we are going to surround them with. We have a set of 3 windows in a row in our living room and they are stained and surrounded with the oak wood we wanted to use and they look really great!!! Mitch was very nice and listened to all our concerns and we had a nice experience working with Mitch and his company.
When the windows came into the company's shop Nick called to set up a time to install the windows. Nick and his father, Carl, came out and got all 14 windows in and looking great and ready for our staining and inside work in a very short time. They took away our old windows and all the packing of the new windows, left us with NO Clean-up at all. Nick and Carl were really great and Nick gave me tips to staining and finishing the trim to match.
From start to finish working with Mitch and his company, Thermal Window and Siding, Inc., has been a great experience and the windows are beautiful.
We would recommend Mitch and his company to anyone needing new windows.
The person providing the quotation was very professional and did an excellent job of describing the various options for windows. After the quote was accepted, they worked carefully to be sure they understood exactly our requirements and worked around our schedule to install. Although it was well into autumn and very cool, we were never uncomfortable because they worked carefully to be sure that there was very little in the way of drafts. The work was completed very quickly - in two days, if I remember correctly. The windows have performed very well.

The work they did overall was good. I spent around $6000 on that service and that included the price of the windows and the labor. I would tell others that they seemed to be very good, professional and the windows were of high quality.

The sales person came to our home in early November, initially to discuss replacing the windows with new wooden ones. When I told him what I was looking for he offered wood, but also gave to option of vinyl and then the pros and cons of each. He showed me an example of the window that would be installed, as well as the specs on energy efficiency and I was sold. We placed the order for the windows and at the time of measurement, added three more. The windows arrived in early-mid December, but due to our own scheduling conflicts, were not installed until the end of the month. Installers were prompt and quick in getting the old windows out and the new in, keeping cold exposure in the house to a minimum. They then wrapped the sills and put in more insulation around the windows (there was evidently not much there from the original build). There was minimal mess and they really tried to clean up after themselves, especially indoors. There was minor damage to one of the trim boards (on seven windows), but we were told of the possibility before hand and the board is old, so we will replace it in the spring. Overall, we are very happy with the installation and the new windows. I have been able to turn down the heat in the house several degrees and no longer have a breeze. I will likely have them replace the remaining windows in the near future.

Excellent. Entire job took only half a day. Foreman was punctual. He removed the existing windows and vacuumed up the debirs. Foreman showed us how to operate the new windows (i.e. open/close) and vacuumed up debris. Paperwork related to warranty and tax credits was mailed the next day.
