It went very well! The only suggestion I have would be to clearly list all of the work you need to have done with your project.

Removed old shower pan that was leaking and installed new one with tile. The tile looks great but they did a poor job of housekeeping at end of job and also didn't cover up tile holes when they re-installed our shower door. When I complained about this I was assured it was an easy fix and that they'd come back to cover 'next week', but that was in February and I haven't heard from them since. I guess they ran out of garbage bags and tried to fit all debris (~200 lbs) into 1 garbage bag that was then drug across my porch, yard, and driveway, scraping all up in the process. The garbage company wouldn't take since it was too heavy to lift, and I ended up needing to transfer to 4 contractor bags to make lift able. I was very happy with crew through the first few days but left on a bad note and also didn't get a professional follow-up when Ralph said he'd fix the holes.

Ralph came in for the quote but the work was done by Anthony. They came in at the upper range of estimate but also understood the work that needed to be done the best. Anthony was extremely thoughtful and professional. Very clean and precise. Would hire them and would highly recommend them.

I requested epoxy grout for the job & asked if they were familiar with the material. They said they were. In the end, they failed to properly clean off the epoxy residue left behind after application of the grout. That happens to be a huge problem since epoxy residue is extremely difficult to remove. That difficulty increases with time. They said they would return & use a special product which would remove the epoxy from the tile & not affect the grout. A workman did return with a bottle of water & a scraper and went to work scraping off the gritty residue. I asked him what happened to the special product I was informed of? The workman said he did not want to use any harsh chemicals even though the product was designed specifically for the intended use! As a consequence, I asked the workman to leave. I wanted to talk with his boss before proceeding any further. I was also afraid that the scraping could potentially affect the tile in a negative way. I did then contact the boss & told him they could return only if they could assure me that there would be no damage to the tiles. I never heard back from them. TILE SURGEONS was rarely on time & broke the initial install date.

"[Member Name Removed], There was some residue from the epoxy grout. Aaron was sent to clean it up. As he was doing it, you went into a rant and started cursing and being extremely [Member Name Removed] to him. You also tried to blame him for old spots in your floor tile, which he could not have caused. [Member Name Removed] was residue from the shower floor tile successfully without damage to the tile before you went on your rant. We always stand behind our work, and we always make good on any problems that customers may be concerned with. We do not tolerate abusive behavior, however. It only takes a few bad reviews to tarnish the average grades from dozens of perfect scores. If you wish to get the job done right, I will accept your sincere apology. Sincerely, Ralph Chisena"

"Hello [Member Name Removed], I regret that you are not happy with our work. But let's get the facts straight. First, you admitted that you got a low, fair price for the work. Second you were very happy with the tile work.Third, no one ever knows the condition of the walls or floors until they are torn apart. Your walls were in terrible shape. We had to re-build the entire bottom half of the walls.Matching new drywall on the bottom with existing plaster wall on the top sometimes is an almost impossible task. We are not wallboard installers. When we install wallboard, spackling takes several coats with sanding in between, We prepare the walls for the painter, who, if required, makes finishing touches. We spent three extra days at your home with no extra charge. You refused to pay even my COST for one more day to improve the wall to your liking, so I agreed to go further in the whole to satisfy you. You were not available when we found some time to work on your walls, so I told your husband that we would reschedule. He said OK, and then this unfair review appeared. After we were finished the job, you were asked if it was OK. WE DID NOT LEAVE without your approval of the job. You said that it was fine.Weeks later, you called with a new dissatisfaction. And here we are with your inaccurate review which can cost us tens of thousands of dollars. What do you expect me to do next? Sincerely, Ralph Chisena"

Ralph (and his sense of humor) came right away to give us an estimate for our bathroom project. We had intended to simply replace the tile but we ended up taking down all the tile and walls to the studs, replacing the plumbing including (to Ralph's chagrin) a cast iron tub, new shower door, toilet, vanity, etc. While our tub weighed 400+ pounds and Ralph's crew was not able to carry it up the stairs, he hired a plumber to carry it and install it without extra cost to us. Dan, Ralph's super talented employee, was primarily responsible for the work in the bathroom. He was meticulous in his work, never took short cuts, ran us by all the changes and upgrades that he thought were necessary/important, he lay the tile beautifully, and even took the time to help us with unrelated (and substantial!) projects around the house that saved us an enormous amount of time and money. I definitely could not recommend Dan enough. We intend on using him again as soon as our bank account recovers from all our renovations (although, they were very reasonably priced).

Ralph jumped right in when I mentioned we could use a new backsplash- he helped us negotiate a good price for tile locally, he went to pick it up and did a gorgeous job installing it. Our walls are 100 years old and uneven, but it still looks beautiful and we are in awe of our kitchen every day. He immediately responded to my e-mails at 6am and 11pm, was extremely easy to get a hold of, and was very gracious in keeping our limited budget in mind. I feel as though we have luxury projects in our house without completely digging ourselves into the ground financially. We had a number we could not go above, and even with all the additions this team completed for us, we were still able to stay within our margin. As an aside, Ralph and Dan always had positive attitudes, did everything they could to help us and keep us happy and worked extremely hard. I could not recommend this group enough and definitely intend on using them again as our next projects creep up! He was

Thank you Dan and Ralph for all you helped us do! I couldn't love our house more thanks to you!!

My wife and I enjoyed working with the Tile Surgeons. They are a very professional group and their work is top notch. We worked
specifically with Ralph who came to our house to repair grout and small tile pieces in our master bathroom shower. Ralph was extremely professional and flexible. We had to reschedule due to illness and it was not a problem for him, which we were very grateful for. He was able to explain what he was doing in laymen?s terms, which I always respect, and answered all of our questions that we had. We highly recommend using the Tile Surgeons and will be using them for future tile work.
Ralph was very thorough and professional. He 1st had come out to discuss our options and quote a price based on our exact requirements. We weren't sure the final sizes of the tiles we wanted so he gave us options and pricing for all of them. After we purchased the product, he came out about a week later and did a great job taking down the old backsplash, which had issues coming off, then putting up the new one. We purchases larger files which Ralph cut down to size and it all came out looking very nice. I would recommend Ralph for any backsplash installation.
Ralph was terrific. We don't have the most luxurious bathroom, and all we needed was the replacement of grout in a few moldy areas. Other providers wanted to redo the entire shower bath area for significantly more money. Ralph suggested that we just replace the moldy grout and touch up where needed. The perfect, cost-effective solultion.
We had him do tile work for us in the past and have hired him a second time to re-tile our second bathroom. The quality of his work is great and the people he works with do a very nice job as well. He always cleans up after job completion and is very knowledgeable in his workmanship. I would highly recommend his services to others.

The job was to take 5 days. The first day the owner and a worker came out and laid out the tile design on the floor for us to review and approve. The next morning we found out that the worker who was supposed to do the rest of job solo had broken his wrist and would not be able to work. With only 3 days left, the owner came out with another worker and finished the job on time, working extra as necessary. We have 18" tile and wanted it laid on the diagonal so the cuts were many and some difficult (fitting the tile around the rounded bottom step). Everything was done beautifully and professionally.
Additionally, they laid tiles in such a way as to allow us to get upstairs. They marked the tile to note which ones were installed or still drying. We have two school-age boys so that was good.
The owner and the workers were professional, courteous and friendly. We would definitely use them again.
They did an excellent job. I liked everything about them. They were excellent, they were very flexible, and they were very helpful. Ralph is the main person who runs it, and he was very engaging and had a nice sense of humor. He bent over backwards to help us out. My daughter and her family were living with us while they were getting a house, and my daughter had a baby coming and the child was born prematurely so we had to have everything ready in this bathroom before the child came so there wouldn't be a lot of dust. Ralph adjusted his schedule to do it. He made sure that it was done and it was done very, very well. We were very happy with what he did. We would definitely recommend him and we would use him again.

The technician who performed the work was very good at what he does. You couldn't even tell that there was something that was removed from the wall. In performing the tile replacement, he had to remove the medicine cabinet and the vanity. He performed his work while being very respectful of my home.
Response from The Tile Surgeons
"Thank you for your response. We were happy to have solved your tile problem. Some problems are a bit difficult and unusual, but we can solve almost any problem. We are glad that you are pleased with our work."

The person arrived promptly to install a marble back splash in a kitchen
that had been remodeled. Materials were provided. Drop cloths were laid to cover
everything that needed to be protected. How or why it was removed is
completely unclear. He left dried grout on the hardwood floor, dried
grout and deep gouges on the marble counter top (previously installed by a professional fabricator), and
horrible scratches on the brand new Wolf dual fuel range as well as the Vent-a-Hood.
He charged roughly $34 per square foot for
labor. He could not manage to get the grout off the tile that he installed
before it dried.
Response from The Tile Surgeons
"My goodness, what are you talking about????? The grout was clean and there were no scratches left on your range or countertop, nor were your drop cloths removed until after the job was done. [removed member name], you did not even call me about this, and you are sadly mistaken. You have to be complaining about one of your other contractors. I did a masterful job, and you know it!!!!"
