Peter Noone is a really outstanding contractor. I was fortunate to have him rebuild my house after a tree fell on it and caused very significant damage. He is a great communicator, and kept me updated on everything, even when I had to be out of town. Perhaps most importantly, he has excellent relationship with his subcontractors, who provided uniformly high quality work and responded quickly to his scheduling needs. Having built my house a couple of decades ago using someone who had good reviews but only average communication skills, I promise that you will have a much, much better experience if you use the Village Builder. PS. The insurance company was very pleased with how he handled things, too - also extremely important!

It went very well. The workers at the Valliage Builder are hard working professionals, they try their best to get the job done, to meet customer’s requests. They also clean up everyday, so we were able to live in the same house while remodeling was going on. I definitely will recommend them to anyone.

Scheduling of the work smoothly, and all aspects were completed professionally and on time. The quality of the work was excellent, and I am very happy with the results.

Chuck and Peter were excellent to work with. They helped me through all steps of a difficult permitting process. They sourced hundreds of custom stone, tile, countertop, plumbing fixtures and other items I had picked out. Their foreman was awesome and easy to work with. They had answers to all my questions and were quick to resolve any issues that came up during the build. They really went out of their way to ensure I was a satisfied customer. Peter from The Village Builder clearly laid out the process of our kitchen remodel. Helped us get to a realistic budget for what was important to us. And worked with us to stay within the budget which we mutually agreed. He provided insight based on experience that allowed us to make decisions that were best for our project and budget. The subcontractors managed by The Village Builder were professional, on time, and did beautiful work. They even cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day. Peter managed the construction schedule to keep everything moving forward efficiently. If a delay was encountered it was communicated as early as possible. The Village Builder simply did what they said, when they said, and did not go over budget. We are super happy with our new kitchen and plan on working with The Village Builder on our next remodel. Goodness knows our bathrooms need to be updated!

Our bathroom model went great. We really liked working with Peter and his crew. The tile setter worked with my wife to pick out the perfect tiles and painter helped a lot with colors. We had a good idea about the design going into the project, but they really helped bring it together. Love the final product!

They did a great job!! The crew is very professional but friendly. I appreciate all of their good work. I had so few issues but all were corrected immediately. They were very conscious of my wants and needs and were very tolerant of my "pickiness"! I have hired them for a second job (replace sliding glass door and resurface exterior of chimney). Again, exceptional job!! Peter and his crew always go the extra mile to makes sure everything is as I want, but also have very creative ideas for designs.

The contractor was very flexible in scheduling work around our summer visitors. Contractor was also very patient while we dithered about what kind of roofing material and insulation we needed, and had excellent suggestions for remodeling the existing cupola. Contractor was careful to integrate renovations into the existing design of the house, so the modifications now look as if they were part of the original design. The workers were very professional, and the quality of workmanship was excellent. It's now almost a year later, and we are still very happy with the result.

Good knowledgeable recommendations with excellent work and appropriate pricing

Several years ago they remodeled an older home I own. Because they are so good, we used them to build a new home on 10 acres. They are very adaptive to our changing ideas. We worked with them in making changes as the work progressed. This has been either because we see a need for a different design or in response to their suggestions for how to make things nicer. There input was extremely important in adapting our new home to a steep hillside. There work is of the highest quality and they work with us in deciding on subcontractors. The support does not end with the end of the project. The have dealt with the subcontractors each time an issue has arisen in the months following completion.

Completely professional, every aspect was detailed thoroughly, we were very much engaged in design and decision making.

The Village Builder team was a small group of highly skilled woodworkers, painter/finisher, and hardwood floor installer, all overseen by the company owner. The team did beautiful work and was a delight to have in our home for several weeks. Old windows were refurbished, old trim and doors were disposed of or donated, old flooring was removed and gorgeous new maple floors with a cherry inlay was installed to match an existing area of the house. A complete tear-out of the central stairway was replaced with a fir and maple staircase constructed and finished onsite. New fir trim was installed throughout the house. Expensive (in great part due to our choice of materials), beautiful work from a great group and well worth it!

As an Architect it's always a pleasure to run into a builder that will participate and support the development process w/ constructability reviews, cost evaluations and support.  Most builders present prices, some with thoughtful reflection and some just presenting sub-contractor bids.  Chuck fully builds the project in his minds-eye rather than just bidding unit costs.  He identifies opportunities and adjustments to save money,  as well as identifying items that might be clarified and lead to reduced sub-bidder bids.   I have always felt that Chuck holds the clients project as the central focus.  Over many years I have had each of numerous clients love Chucks work.  He has always supported the creative process in addition to adding custom millwork to the construction.  I feel comfortable bringing cutting edge design as well as timely and classic designs to his review.  He is a great team member and contributes freely.  Every builder brings something different to the table.  Village Builder brings a thoughtful cost aware, solution finder, team builder, and partner to the project.  Well worth looking into. <br />

The crew has been with Village Builder for many years and are extremely professional.  We were impressed that they are each artisans in their own right and made sure everything was absolutely perfect.  We wanted to update our home from a rather plain contemporary with a 70s feel to a progressive craftsman look.  With a lot of design help from Chuck and Peter Noone, the owners of the business, we were able to achieve this brilliantly.  The new stairway that was created by Bruce Macvicar is a gorgeous craftsman construction with  amazing, translucent burled Oregon vine maple inlays.  The staircase is elegant but simple, and it just glows.  They suggested adding more wood around our living room and sunroom windows and suddenly the house seemed richer and more substantial. <br /> The bathrooms which had been spartan were given a more archaeological feel, with grey-green slate brick tiles accented by trails of pale river stones flowing from ceiling to wood floor in the master bath.   The man who did our tile work was phenomenal and did a truly precision job.  New custom firewood craftsman cabinetry and a framed mirror along with an enlarged window looking out into a native plant garden and the forest beyond brought the natural beauty of the outdoors inside.  A black and gold ubatuba granite countertop beneath a graceful black granite sink bowl enhance the depth of the rich red of the new cabinets.  Bruce M. built a walnut make-up table with matching chair in the style of a vintage writing desk to fit in a niche created when we took out an overlarge storage cabinet. <br /> The upstairs bathroom was designed to be a grotto of rough, dark grey slate with a scattering of copper foiled glass tiles in the floor to ceiling shower tub combo.  A new bubbler tub was installed as well.  Craftsman light fixtures over a brightly polished copper sink bowl atop a black granite countertop and douglas-fir craftsman cabinetry give the small bathroom a rustic spa feel. <br /> All of this work was accomplished without conflict or any troubling difficulties.  We asked for some unusual things and they made sure we got what we wanted.  We were very excited to see it all coming together day by day and could tell that all of the craftsmen working on our home were excited to contribute to its transformation.  Really, they just did an extraordinary job.

Needless to say, the job went really well, the house turned out just what we wanted. Even though we don't live there anymore, I miss that kitchen ever time I think about that house. <br /> <br /> I don't remember all the details now since it was over 30 years ago, but my general recollection is that Chuck made the process very easy. He was organized, thoughtful and tuned in to what we wanted. Besides having an engineering mind, he is very people oriented. I love that house til this day and I would hire Chuck in a heartbeat. <br />

Chuck's attention to detail was phenomenal. We couldn't have wanted any better. He is friendly, upbeat and understanding as is his work crew. They were almost like family and Very considerate while in our home. We got to know all the workmen very well and actually missed having them to talk with once they left. Although it was nice to get our house back and WOW.......what a kitchen. <br /> <br />I have known Chuck for over 30 years and got to know him 30 years ago when he built a house for me and my husband. So when we decided to re-do our kitchen....there was no other choice to make than Chuck. <br />

Chuck was very responsive to our wishes and completely transparent with cost changes to the original contract.  We knew where we stood at all times.  There were glitches, as there always are.  In our case it was with the heating sub contractor, and Chuck eventually had to replace him and have some of the original work redone.  But, the point is, Chuck followed through. <br />  As for the quality of work, my wife and I can't say enough in praise.  On many occasions, Chuck, one of the carpenters and I would discuss building details of placement and design -- from soffits to shelving to walkways, and the work always turned out better than I could imagine.  The architect visited every few weeks and sometimes suggested minor changes:  These were immediately incorporated, and at no additional cost. <br />
