We had a great experience with Water Heater Experts. We contacted them a year before we actually had the work done and John was extremely knowledgeable about water quality and water heaters. Once we needed a new water heater he was quick in responding and the work was done in a day. We went with a tankless and he was helpful with tips on how to use it and be efficient with the recirculating. I am extremely happy and pleased and already enjoying hot water in 10 seconds versus the 1.5-2 minutes we used to wait!

After the fact when I availed of a concessionary rate for flushing my own water heater, I was told by the plumber that SINCE IT WAS INSTALLED NOT TO CODE, he could not attend to the job of flushing the water heater.
I now realize that there was no Meck Co. Inspection done on BOTH installations and that BOTH are installed NOT to code.
No Warranty or product registration papers were given to me for both installations.
Since being made aware of this situation, I have called and left messages: no reponse.
I have written to them by normal mail, then by express mail and then by certified mail. NO RESPONSE.
I then went to the address given on their invoice and discovered that that address is a UPS mail drop! No business address.
d I then sent a "signature due" certifid mail to Scott Martin's (i believe) home address at Cary, NC. This wqs returned as undeliverable.
I am certainly at a loss to understand. Have they closed their business down? If so I will have to have plumbers correct the installation to meet the Code Standards which will mean I will suffer more expense. Without this my I will have no Warranty

This Contractor was vetted by Angie's List, and I placed my trust in them. This is a case of gross misconduct leaving me at considerable risk and I will need swift resolution. Thank you

My water heater went out nearly two weeks ago the night before we took a week long trip. Since we had another place to take showers, we got the company we use for other ac/heating service to shut down the water heater and also got a proposal from them which was around $2200 for a water heater of the exact make (State) as the one which went bad.

After reading some water heater reviews, we decided we'd prefer a Rheem, so didn't use the first service provider.

We got a quote from another plumbing co which was roughly the same (only about $150 more) as the Water Heater Experts quote, but saw in Angie's List that they only had a "B" rating.

Seeing that Water Heater Experts had an "A" rating and specialized in water heaters, I called them and discussed our needs with them to see what they had to say.

Unlike the other plumbing company, they did not try to "upsell" me in any way. In fact, they did more of a "downsell" and probably lost out on what would have been a few quick "sucker" bucks (not really, I'm not that gullible).

Anyway, from my discussions with both the boss and the installer, I decided to just get the basics done and see how well this higher rated Rheem water heater performs. Their labor guarantee made that a comfortable decision.

Also, I learned from them that a few simple things like regularly draining the water heater once a year or so could prolong the life of the water heater (and that the problem isn't necessarily a bad water supply, as another plumbing co tried to sell).

My old "State" brand heater started leaking after 8 years use. Oddly enough, though, Water Heater Experts told me that my old water heater was actually BUILT much longer ago and showed me how to determine this based on model/serial numbers.

Since I have rental property with the identical brand (only 40 gal instead of 50), I checked and found that it is also MUCH OLDER than I had thought.

I'm planning to drain that tank soon to see what kind of goo comes out.

Great service, good advice, good prices, and a better warranty on labor than the other guys I checked.

And if I ever need a replacement (maybe for the rental), I'm DEFINITELY calling the Water Heater Experts AGAIN.

Based on the favorable reviews of other members, I called three providers at noon. Unlike the other two, owner Scott Martin returned my call within 20 minutes even, as I learned later, he was away on vacation. I explained my heater had burst and needed quick replacement. I brought up the possibility of installing a tankless heater. He asked about my household make-up and usage, and advised the extra expense would not be cost-effective. He is a Rennai Tankless dealer/installer! He said he might be able to get a technician available in 2 hours and would call me right back. He did, and we arranged for a 4 pm installation.

His tech, Michael called 15 minutes beforehand reporting a traffic delay and he arrived soon after 4. He was very professional and, working alone, completed the removal and replacement by 7. He checked the connections, discovered a small leak, and fixed that. We had hot water that evening. Scott did not charge extra for an emergency call that ran over into the evening; and, he applied an additional discount for my having found him through Angie's List!

The next day I discovered another small leak, called Scott and Michael was there and had it fixed by 1 pm.

I can't thank Scott and Michael enough for their responsiveness and professionalism. THAT'S how to run...and grow... a business!

They removed an old leaking hot water heater and installed a new one. They came out on a days notice and gave me a price over the phone. Their price was $200 lower than anyone else and they used a better heater. This is one of the best companies I have ever done business with
I called lots of places, from here on Angie's List, that had A ratings first before I tried these guys. Every single one of them had attitude when I called. Didn't want to answer my questions or send someone out. Basically - when I called Scott I was a little gun shy.
Scott called me back that day, bright and chipper and professional. He understood my qualms and questions and instead of greeting my hesitation with attitude and snark, he sat there on the phone with me and answered every single question I had. He took 30 minutes of his day, without ANY promise of work, to inform me and respond with politeness and respect.
I told him at the end of the conversation that he had the job, whatever job I needed to have done, from the pure fact that he treated me with kindness and respect. He treated my questions as reasonable (and I had a lot of them, I really like to understand things fully.)
Scott sent out a technician to peruse my Water Heater and give me an estimate. It all went so smoothly, every single bit of it. The installation, the inspection, Scott always keeping communication open.
It was genuinely a perfect experience that you could imagine with a contractor for work on your home. If only they all could be this good!!

Our water heater had been in the attic since the house was built, about 15 years. We had started thinking it was time to replace it, before we had an incident that would require drywall and paint. Scott, The Water Heater Experts owner, is GREAT! He came out to assess our situation and advised me on the pros and cons of tankless water heating. We decided to replace our existing tank with a new one, rather than installing tankless. Scott pointed out the items in the attic that would need to be brought up to code and included that in the replacement estimate. The new heater is the same brand as our previous one (Rheem, 50 gal) with some new features that Scott took care to explain. Scott and an assistant brought the new heater and removed the old one, which I thought would be a real trick to get it out of the attic but I honestly did not hear them remove it and didn't even know it was done. They shut off the water, drained the tank and made the code adjustments and installation in about 2.5 hours. I was completely impressed by how they approached the project and cleaned up after themselves. Because water heaters are a once every 10-15 year purchase, companies like these rely on recommendations rather than repeat business (although Scott guarantees his installations and supports any problems.) I can say I highly recommend Scott and the Water Heater Experts!

We met with Scott a month ago to talk about our options with respect to water heaters. We are planning a theater room and needed the space in which the water tank occupied. Scott came out and spent a good amount of time explaining all my options and the ins and outs of tankless water heaters. I was very pleased with our initial visit. We decided to use his company. Scott and his crew came out last weekend and installed the unit flawlessly. His crew was on time, even earlier than expected. They were both very courteous, professional, and efficient. The new unit looks great. I like that his company offers a five year warranty on the parts and labor. We would definitely recommend Scott and his company. Thanks for the great service!
Scott was great to work with. He was promo in emailing me and talking to me about my repair, which was tremendously helpful since he was the second company I had attempted to use after the first failed to make the repair. I sent him pictures and he gave an initial estimate of $250. The pipe where the leak was a polybutylene pipe, which I was worried would cause an issue, but he said it wasn't a problem. I scheduled him to come out on Saturday, but he called on Friday and said he was in the area and wanted to take a look. I was already home from work for lunch, and so he stopped by. He brought another tech with him, and were able to get the work done then. The entire service took only 20 minutes! Even better, the cost was a third less than he had estimated. After the fact, I had to pass on his insurance and license information to my Condo Owners Association, and he sent me the info within 24 hours. They did an excellent job.
After calling around I found the price quoted by The Water Heater Experts was about $150 cheaper than their competition. This would have normally concerned me, but I decided to go with them since they have such great reviews on Angie's list. I am glad I did.
The new water heater was installed two days after I placed the order (as scheduled - I did NOT have an emergency situation). The guys showed up as expected and within three hours had removed the old water heater and installed the new one. Through the entire process they went out of their way to explain what they were doing and why they were doing it. They took the time to show me how to change settings and pointed out a couple of things to keep an eye on with some of the existing older plumbing attached to the heater.
Every aspect of my dealings with them was a very good experience. These guys understand the meaning of customer service!
The showed up on time with the new hot water tank. Was very careful with the floor, wall and furniture. Since it was an upstairs walk-in attic, it was a little more difficult job. Pricing & information about the product itself was provided on the phone prior to engaging their service. They were very competitive with other bids and as honest about the costs. Nothing hidden like some others. After installation there were some problems with the unit's pilot lite but the installer was very, very knowledgeable and tested till found the problem and corrected it. A bent part from shipping. It has been almost 9 months and everything is great. Also offered, at no charge, a service warranty if the unit breaks while under warranty.

My first encounter with Scott put me right at ease. He is truly and expert with water heaters and all things related to installation. His prices were very competitive , but his professionalism and prompt responses really sealed the deal for me. There were some questions during install regarding the best way to get propane to the unit and they did discuss this at length with a company representative who was present.
Since the installation we have all the hot water we can use and then some. They are wonderful devices, but do require someone that knows what your needs will be and the best options to meet them. Scott had given us several options which to choose from which was great.
I would highly recommend anyone considering tankless to give them and call and would not hesitate to use them in the future!
Scott came out promptly after our call, and explained all the pro's and con's of the various water heater systems.
He also discussed all technical details and he inspected the premises for possible installation details.
Within a few days, we received detailed proposals with cost benefit analysis.
We selected the tankless water heater system (natural gas) as the most economical over the longer term.
Mike, the master plumber came out a few days later for a detailed installation evaluation.
Mike and an assistant came out a few days later in the morning and completed the job by mid-afternoon.
We were very pleased with the professionalism of all involved.
Mike did a great job installing the whole system and was very courteous and prompt.
We would highly recommend this company to anybody who needs a new hot water system.

We were pleased with every aspect of the job. The price was fair, the materials used and the quality of the work were good. The people were prompt, helpful, neat, and efficient and answered all questions. We enjoyed having them in the house and felt we wre getting quality service and a quality product. The work areas were cleaned up and neat upon completion. We will use them again for all future water heater needs and would recommend them to anyone contemplating water heater repairs or replacement.
Arrived on time. Very professional and helpful in resolving problem we were having with hot water. Turns out the water heater is fine. Problem was due to incorrect valve installation on a bathroom project. Water Heater Experts only charged a trip fee, and were very helpful in diagnosing the problem caused by the bathroom plumbing contractor. Highly recommend, and will call them if we ever have a real water heater issue!
