The bottom line is that David Yungmann is the type of realtor I wish we had been fortunate to have for our previous 8 purchases and sales. We've moved all around the country and dealt with the full gamut of realtors. We found David to be refreshingly realistic - direct and up front in negotiations with us and the sellers, which helped us quickly develop a clear view of the neighborhoods, market, what we could afford, and how we could expect negotiations to go, As we've done in the past, we were looking for a house when moving to the Baltimore area without knowing much about the area or having much time to fly in and check out various neighborhoods. We chose David for reputation and he really exceeded our expectations across the board. We were only able to spend a few hours with him initially to discuss what we were looking for, and check out a handful of homes/neighborhoods. After our initial visit, he quickly identified what we were looking for and, from then on, it seemed he knew better than us. He focused us on the neighborhood that fit us best and when we chose a house, he drove (30 min from his office) numerous times to take pictures, videos, check on inspections, take measurements, etc, and helped navigate the negotiations to our advantage. Now, a year later we can happily say that we are in the house that we've always wanted, feel great about the deal we got on it, and are every bit as thrilled as the day we closed. David's dedication, knowledge, and temperment would also be ideal as a seller's agent; in fact we recommended him to our friends who are currently selling with the "warning" that he would not blow smoke about what their house was worth and what they could expect to get for it (we've definitely dealt with the opposite, both the rosy picture from someone who wanted our business too much and the doomsday scenario from someone who wanted a quick sell without putting in much work). They, too, appreciated his honesty and integrity and have hired him as they prepare to sell. If we could have brought David with us over the years, I'm sure we would have had many less headaches buying and selling (and would probably have saved much more $$ at this point!). If you want your purchase or sale to go as smoothly as possible, or need someone there who will fight as hard as you need when things don't go smoothly, I can assure you that you'll be happy if you choose David Yungmann.

I wasn’t rushing into my home purchase and David was patient during the two years it took to land my home. I wasn’t sure what I wanted at the outset and David encouraged me to see a variety of property types and conditions. That helped hone in on what I wanted and we submitted a couple of offers  along the way. The whole experience informed me of what was important to me and emphasized the need to act fast. So when a home I really liked went on the market just as I was headed out of town, David and I developed a strategy to make sure I didn’t lose out. Six months later and I still smile and think how much I love my new home every time I open the front door. (And I have great neighbors, too.) On top of his real estate expertise and familiarity with the area, David also leverages the technology to complete a contract quickly online. He took the time to answer every question and really walked me through the home-buying process.

David was patient, professional and extremely knowledgeable in the home buying process.  Given my circumstances I was searching for a home in a very narrow area in Columbia.  He provided helpful insights on various issues with prospective homes.  He also provided references to other quality services for financing and real estate inspection services as well as help in interpreting the results.  Eventually, we found an estate and short sale home and he worked with the seller?s agent and foreclosure attorney to drive the sale.  He warned me that the process could take longer than a standard home sale.  Unfortunately, the process did end up taking a year through no fault of David?s, and he continued to coach me through the process and prompt the seller?s agent and attorney for responses.  He even continued to set up appointments to view other homes in the area as the short sale dragged on.  As the sale closed Dave generously offered to pay for a home warranty service for a year.  Shortly before the coverage year ended, my dryer began to fail and I went to access the service only to find that the fee had never been paid by the title service.  Dave followed through on his word and he covered the cost of the dryer in full.  Given David's professionalism and responsiveness I fully recommend David to those looking to buy a home. <br /> <br />

David assisted us with both selling our previous townhouse and purchasing our new single family home.  Beginning with our first meeting he was very honest and upfront about what to expect with the process of selling and buying.  He made practical and helpful recommendations for work that needed to be done on our townhouse in order to sell quickly on the market.  He set realistic pricing and market expectations early and provided continuous feedback along the way.  He marketed the townhouse through a variety of channels which was helpful and ultimately the townhouse sold in less than two weeks.  During the process he was both highly responsive and attentive to us which gave us much comfort.  When buying our new home he listened to our ideas of what we were looking for and took time to review many listings to ensure they met our criteria.  While our budget slightly moved higher he asked good questions to understand why and what we were looking for to ensure he did not waste anyone's time.  <br /> <br />Overall, our experience with David was excellent and we would be happy to recommend him to any friends and family in the future. <br />

My wife had actually found David on a home she purchased just before we started dating a few years back. I can be a bit of a skeptic and tend to do much more thorough research on things so I wasn't sure he would be the right agent for us. <br /> I looked around, talked with other agents, even went on a few home tours with a couple, but none of them could compare to David's professionalism, expertise, personality, and communication.  <br /> Every step of the way David was letting us know what to expect, how we should handle things, what we should be looking for, etc. He always kept line of communication open with us and was always quick to reply to any communication attempts.  <br /> I admit that I am difficult to please when it comes to business relationships, I expect a high level of service just like I provide to my own clients. We started searching for a new home in October 2012. David took the time to listen to our wants and needs in a new home. He exemplifies what it means to be a buyer's agent. We attempted a number of contracts, some of which were short sales and were a tough process. David always fought for us. We finally found the house for us and closed in February 2013. Once we were ready to sell our condominium in August, we knew who to call. Again, David exemplified what it means to be a seller's agent when the time came to switch sides. He gave us honest feedback on changes we needed to make in order to sell and sure enough we had an offer by September. We will definitely recommend David to all of our friends and family. <br />

I had a great experience! This was my first time entering the housing market, and I changed my mind on what I wanted substantially as time went on, starting with a single-family home in Anne Arundel County, and ending up with a condo in Howard County. Fortunately, they knew the whole area well. I started looking at single-family homes with David and Brent around September 2012, and finally closed on a wonderful, perfect-for-me condo in December 2012. (We found the place in October, the sellers just needed some time before closing.)  <br /> David and Brent were fantastic to work with. They found a lot of great places for me to look at, and we had a good rhythm on the days we went out to look at places. David has a lot of experience and offered great insights on aspects of the houses I might not otherwise have thought about, and Brent was great at asking me questions that helped me work out how I was feeling about each place. As time went on, they got to know my needs and preferences, and made recommendations accordingly. <br /> I had a couple of false starts, which they handled with aplomb. At one point, I made an offer on a townhouse which met all my requirements, but which my grandmother turned out to hate. David came and met with us at the house, patiently addressed all her concerns, and when I finally got talked out of the house, helped me withdraw my offer. He made everything easy for me, and I will appreciate it forever. <br /> When it came to closing on my condo, they were great as well. They helped me find good comps and gave me good advice on how to price my offer, kept me advised of communications with the seller's agent, and in the negotiation phases, told me what I could reasonably ask for and expect in return. Closing itself--signing all the papers--went very smoothly for me. I had one hiccup afterwards where it turned out the seller had misled me about how to get a mailbox key. After the post office and community association both told me they had no access to my mailbox, I had to call a locksmith to drill out and replace the lock (for which he charged about $200!). David very graciously paid the bill for me, which was a huge help at that time right after closing, and took a weight off my shoulders. Thanks so much! <br />

My experience with them went very well. I was pleased with them because they helped me in looking for and finding a home. Their quality was excellent.

We had David help us sell our home.  He did a great job. I felt like he was really looking out for us.  During the process he helped stage our home and gave advice on what else we could do to sell it quickly.  Our home was sold in a timely manner and he made it a very pleasant experience.

David made the entire house hunting process enjoyable and successful. He showed us different types of homes, from townhouses to singles, foreclosures and sell by owner, to make sure we are making informed decisions. While showing us the houses he also let us know the pros and cons of each, pointing out what was in good condition and what still needed fixing plus cost estimates. We ended up buying the house we wanted and we have David to thank for.

David sold our house within a little over a month of it being listed (during the hardest time of the year to sell a house in a depressed housing market). David did a great job advertising and showing our house. We had four written offers/contracts come in at the same time! We did run into an unexpected and unknown problem during our home inspection (apparently our 12 year old septic system needed repair). David was able to keep both us and the buyers moving forward towards an amicable resolution to both sides. Very few real estate agents would have been able to handle things as well as David did. We are grateful to David for the way he handled everything. Both sides got what they wanted and all went very smoothly past the one (very stressful) speed bump. David's communications were excellent throughout the whole process. He was very respectful of our privacy during the scheduling of showings. He provided masterful advice in staging our house (we only had a little over a week to get it ready to sell.) Furthermore, he followed up after settlement to make sure any outstanding issues were satisfactorily resolved. David set a realistic and fair selling price for our house and really marketed it well. I credit his expertise in selling it so fast (while other houses in our neighborhood were on the market for many months to almost a year.) I highly recommend David Yungmann - he really knows the Howard County area and is very involved in the residential and business community.

Great! David represented us throughout the whole process and provided excellent advice/recommendations to us. We had a couple of rough times with the selling agent/appraisal process but David got us through unscathed. David was great with communications always returning calls/email right away. He really knows the market and is a master negotiator. We would choose David again if we ever decide to buy another home. I highly recommend David!
