Tile Master

William did an excellent job, was professional and we will definitely be hiring William for future jobs.

You must watch William Ellis's owner of Tile Master work! Biggest error: he moved shower step out without continuing Denshield wall board, and was going to tile shower with over approximately 6" of old regular drywall wall inside shower. We caught it, and had him continue Denshield wall board to outside line of shower step. We had to also catch, that no studs were at the shower step location. Glass door installer would have had nothing to anchor to. We had him install studs. He was also, going to leave the fiberglass mesh tape and Redgard showing where the drywall met the Denshield wall board, all around shower walls. He had another tile worker come in, and even the tiler worker questioned it, and the tiler worker was told to leave it like that! We had tile worker cover it with another layer of tile and we were charged for it! Tile worker said that William Ellis's prep job was sloppy, the fiberglass mesh tape and Redgard should have been covered with tile, at Tile Master expense, since it was done so poorly, and no quality tiler would have left it showing.

William did an average job at laying the tile (seems and level floor). The seem width varied slightly and the edges of the floor were not level (this resulted in large gaps between the baseboard and floor in excess of 1/8th inch routinely throughout the house). William accidentally left the grout overage fully dry on the new floor and did not know how to remove the horrible haze it left. He tried multiple products with no success and seemed to ignore his workers suggestions (His workers said the floor looked horrible and that he made a bad mistake). I finally had to go to home depot, buy the correct de-hazer and fix the problem myself. William was pleasant and responsive and always showed up on time. He also claimed to be a true expert at tile installation. I found his expertise to be average at best as the final product was OK at first glance. However, once you really start looking at seem widths, levelness of individual tiles, and edges, it is clear that the install job is rather average at best. His pricing however, was slightly above average. So, maybe you are paying slightly more than what you really get. It bothered me that he claimed to be one of the best in the business at tile laying and that is not what we received. The installers that worked for William complained about him non-stop. They claimed he was very cheap and would require them share one old shirt to clean the tile instead of providing the proper tile cleaning products for his workers. They also had no pencils to mark tiles for cutting as William seemed to ignore their requests for pencils. We broke down and bought a few for the guys ourselves. Overall, The floor is OK. I think you can get a better job for your money if you look around a bit for more experienced tile installers.

The three bathroom back splashes look awesome and very professional. The repair in the master bathroom also came out very well. I think that part was the hardest because they had to work within what was already done - and that included many installation shortcomings. William explained was what needed for all of the bathrooms and gave a very reasonable quote. This was not a huge job and I was happy to get such a qualified installer. Very satisfied. Fantastic! William was really professional from beginning to end. He likes to get an early start and is super punctual. He was very good at listening to my requirements, making suggestions, giving advice, and following my special requests, which was very reassuring. His co-worker, Santiago did an excellent job of laying the porcelain tiles in a brick pattern. They carefully prepared the area first (including removing the toilets and putting down a Hardybacker surface on the original chipboard flooring) and so it went very smoothly and quickly once the tile laying began. They also carefully planned the tile pattern so that everything was lined up very nicely and looked well-spaced in all the areas upon completion. He also kept all his equipment together and cleaned up everything afterwards. I extended the project by adding on a few extra caulking jobs around the house (bath/shower/vanity) that William gladly did to help everything look refreshed and clean. I'm planning on using Tile Master for another project soon once I can decide on the tile I want in my master bathroom!

Bid had to be adjusted up a bit for desired tile (he forgot which one we selected), but was still lowest bid received. When work started we had to pay a bit more for additional thinset to even out the concrete floor height (there was sort of a hump in middle of room). Normal hiccups of any job and within planned budget. Took less than a week and he did a good job cleaning up after completion. Results were beautiful and well worth the cost to us. We also have a small number of spare tiles to repair minor future damage.

William and Santiago did a great job on our bathroom tiling jobs!!! William was great about returning our calls, punctual about meeting to evaluate and gave us a good price! Not only did they do a great job, very respectful, kind, professional and courteous! We will definitely use them for any future tiling needs. Highly recommend!

William of Tile Master was fantastic. He is proactive about his communication, understood what we were looking for, and went above and beyond in his efforts. The job was completed punctually and professionally. I'm very glad to have hired Tile Master and would recommend him highly.

the most important thing for me is time, i hate when someone tells you am coming at 8 and they show up at nine, with tile master he was always on time. beautiful tile installation, covered everything before tile demo started, wonderful personality am very happy.

we hired tile master 10 years ago to do our floor it was one of the best thing we did he is a true tile master he did a beautiful job on our floor just recently we called him again to do our kitchen back splash i will definitely recommend him

These guys are very friendly and good to get along with, Not only that there tile work is amazing. Always on time, no sloppy work very clean finish, we love our tile.
