They were really good. I feel there office is a little disorganized, as they didn't have any record of the quote that I needed for work done. I would consider to use them in the future.

Tim Ehlers DBA Patriot Roofing suggested that we go back to the company that actually put the roofing material on. He did not take advantage of the situation. Everything went efficiently. My husband had the main conversation with him and it wasn't a lot of time off of my husband's schedule, because I think he came from work to stop and visit with him. It seemed to go well.

Tim called me 2-3 days after I paid for the Big Deal. The name of his company on Angie's List is "Patriot Roofing". He came out and gave me an estimate on a form for "Jack the Roofer" ($10,133.68). He said he was out of forms for Patriot Roofing, but it didn't matter. He worked with my insurance company to get them to pay more money. Then he came out and gave me a new price that included re-doing my patio cover. He wrote that up on an invoice for "Peters Custom Builders". He had me write the partial payment check out to him because he is "a part owner of that company". When the work was completed, he wrote up the contract on a form for "Nicholson Remodeling & Restoration." The checks for the balance due were made out to him. He said that Nicholson would send me a warranty for the roof. If I didn't receive it in 2 weeks, I should call. The number on the agreement was not a valid number. When I finally reached Mr. Nicholson, he stated that he knows Tim Ehlers and that he would never have Tim work for him. My roof looks very nice, but 2 weeks ago we had several rain storms ("monsoons") and the ceiling in my family room has 3 large wet spots. I don't know if Mr. Nicholson will honor the Agreement since he never got paid for the roof. An agent from the Registrar of Contractors office contacted me and took my information. Since Tim is not licensed, they cannot help me. But, they do have other complaints about him.

The replacement of wood trim and gutters went well and the work that was done I had no complaints with at all. However Tim is undoubtedly the most disorganized business owner I have ever dealt with. He twice forgot the Angie's list deal when estimating the work. He asked me why I had not returned his messages by using a "reply" to an e-mail notifying him that i would be out of town for a week. Finally He actually left town without finishing the work (an AC replacement and garbage removal that he promised me would be accomplished) leaving a $5000+ job on the table without notifying me. He is a very personable man but I would not use him unless he got professional attention to the disorganization he shows.

He was the general contractor for the project and sent out a painter. I had requested for a seam between the two rooms to be fixed and that was my main concern. The painter really didn’t do what I asked him. He then offered to come back out to fix everything. We fixed some of it ourselves, but the painter did end up having someone else to fix it. The general contractor did offer us Price cut because of all the problems. I would never use the painter again. However, he made right on everything. They were very apologetic and nice on the phone, I just wasn’t happy with the recommendation on the painter.

Tim is very professional and responsive. He inspected my home's roof that is more complicated than the typical roof since it has several peaks and even a flat section. He made recommendations to avoid some potential problems in the future, but did not give a hard sell at all. I was very impressed.

He was quick and professional and completed work for $99 that would've cost me about $70 in supplies and 2-3 hours of work.

Tim was punctual in arriving at my home on the scheduled day for the roof inspection/maintenance. He did a very thorough job and in fact re-sealed more than the four penetrations that were included in the package. He also found hail damage and is assisting me in dealing with my insurance company for a claim.

I would definitely use Tim Ehlers, dba Patriot Roofing, again in the future.

Went well. Tim found out I wanted to specifically fix some broken tiles on the roof so he explained that if I found the right tiles he would replace them at the same price as the Angies deal that I bought. Everything went smooth and my roof looks good again...thanks Tim!
Response from Tim Ehlers Dba Patriot roofing
"Member was a pleasure to work with i had him get some off the materials to save him money i told him where to go get the extra tile and this saved him about 400.00 nice Angies list customer . thanks again Tim"

Gave an estimate, walked through several times. Workers started one day earlier than planned. Tim made a mistake in estimated square footage (underestimated by a few squares). I paid the difference in materials and he ate the additional labor costs, so that seemed fair. Checked work today and there was debris left in the yard; hopefully his guys will come back and haul it away. I'll check again tomorrow and update this report accordingly.

[Updated] I had checked the work too early -- they had not yet finished. The next time I checked, the debris was cleared away entirely and everything looked perfect.

[Updated May 2012] I was shocked to discover a notice for a lien against my property from a different roofing company for failure to pay. After investigating, it turned out that Tim Ehlers misrepresented himself. He posed as an independant roofing contractor, but he was actually acting as a salesman for Jack the Roofer. Jack's company did the excellent work. Tim charged me $3000 above what Jack's company was paid to do the work, and was late in giving the money to Jack. What made this worse was that Tim forged my signature on a contract with Jack. Jack thought I had contracted with him but failed to pay him in a timely fashion.

The work is of excellent quality. Further, the price Jack would have charged for the work was far more equitable than what Tim charged. Knowing what I now know, I would never have gone with Tim.

I can submit proof of the above events upon request.

Tim's conservative estimate and detailed explanation of the work that was needed stood in stark contrast with the estimate made recently by a 'storm chaser' who had suggested we needed an entirely new roof. I appreciated that he took the time to answer my questions, including offering advice on some repairs I could undertake myself.

I called several companies to come out and provide me estimates for the repairs I needed done. After the consulatations and estimates, I decided to go with patriot Roofing. The representative, Tim Ehlers was very helpful and friendly and very knowledgeable in the work and repairs I needed to have done. After speaking with Tim, I was confident that the work they were going to do to my home would be done professionally, and in a timely manner. My insurance company tried to deny my claim at first, so I called Tim to advise him of this situation, and he called the insurance company on my behalf. He was able to get all my repairs covered, and he even waived my deductible. Patriot Roofing did an elastomeric roof on my garage, and replaced my clay tile roof with concrete tiles at Tim's advice since the concrete are much more durable. by switching to the concrete tiles ui saved about 20% on my homeowners insyuance too! I am extememely satisfied with the service and work completed by Patriot Roofing and would definitely reccomend them to all my friends and family.Tim really was an honest guy looking out for our best interest.

My problem started with a roof leak during the most recent rain storm. I called Patriot Roofing; and they sent a Sales Associate to me. Patriot's Sales Associate inspected my roof from the outside and from the attic to find exactly where the water leak was coming from. Patriot's Sales Associate then took measurements and said that he would be in touch with me to give me an estimate for repairs. The next day I was contacted by Patriot's Sales Associate. He had prepaired an estimate for me and would like to go over it with me. We met at my place that evening. Upon agreement of estimate price; my roof repair was scheduled. On the day of my roof repair; Patriots crew showed up on time and got right to work. The first day on my roof they removed old tile and stacked it all nicely in different places on my roof to help distribute the extra weight added to slopes not being repaired. They also removed bad felt paper and installed new felt paper and what they call furring strips to help keep tile in place. The second day Patriot's crew showed up and reinstalled all my tiles back into position. Once the crew was done I gave my payment to the Sales Associate.
