I recently had an AC problem with an upstairs HVAC unit that was not cooling properly. I scheduled an appointment with Timo's. The technician (Earl) arrived promptly and quickly diagnosed the issue. The problem part was replaced and the AC was back working immediately. In addition to insuring the unit was working properly, he provided tips to maintain the system (clean coils periodically, replace filters regularly, etc). Reasonable prices and excellent service....Great job Timo's and Earl

Last week my air conditioner was on the outs. Thanks to Timo’s it was up in running in no time. They sent me the technicians information before he arrived so I knew who to expect, which I thought was an awesome feature; especially with kids in the house. Once the technician got here he was quick, professional and wore his mask the entire time. Very happy with Timo’s and will definitely be using them going forward.

This was the first time I worked with Timo’s personally at my house, prior had been at my place of work so I was familiar with their customer service and trustworthiness. I had just purchased a new home and air was not circulating to the bedrooms very well and the bathrooms did not have vents. They were able to add vents and further the air circulation creating chilled rooms. They reconfigured the ducting and added new vent grills. They recommend insulate the attic and it was the best decision I ever made because my electric bill went from $300 to $200. The team that makes the house calls are just as friendly as the customer service representatives in the office. They are efficient, affordable and I constantly recommend them. Great local family company.

Terrible. Took over 10 hours and the workers damaged my walls and floors. I would not trust this company or hire them again. Not honest or accountable for their work.
Response from Timo's Air Conditioning and Heating Inc
"Thank you for your review and sharing your experience. An important detail, thats missing, is while we were doing a leak check on your system - with the water valve slightly cracked (to identify any drips) - you personally (mistakenly) turned the water valve in the wrong direction (full blast) resulting in water pouring out of your system. And although we were prepared to do a leak search using a slight drip, we were not prepared for a customer to get involved with the installation and mistakenly handle a very serious valve incorrectly. We understood this was an innocent mistake and agreed to replace the warped plank that your personal contractor said needed to be replaced. "An easy fix" - is how he described it. However, we can not agree to your request to pull up two entire separate rooms flooring to repair a damaged plank in the hallway. Especially when your own flooring contractor said it was unnecessary and beyond the scope of a typical repair. We are more than happy to replace the damaged flooring that we (you and our installers) damaged together. - Additionally, it was brought to our attention that your floor was, in part, damaged due to a pre-existing water leak. Which was confirmed by your May 1-Star Yelp review of a different HVAC company, that stated "Had a leaking water heater and after ten days still no ok from ahs to replace it.""

DO NOT TRUST TUMO'S. DO NOT HIRE TIMO'S Timo's installed a mini-split AC in my home in late September or early October of 2018. The system has not functioned properly since the it was installed. They have been out here 5 times since the install, and have yet to get the system to function properly. Their sales manager Marcus represents himself as head of the company. Not sure of the accuracy of that statement. I do know, however, that these people will say anything, regardless of the accuracy, just to make themselves look good. If you have made the mistake of hiring them, be sure to record all interactions as you will need it to defend yourself against this company. DO NOT TRUST TUMO'S. DO NOT HIRE TIMO'S

"Mr. [Member Name Removed], I'm sorry, however, there is no way to make your system heat and cool at the same time. We’ve been out five times for the same reason. You’re setting one room on heat and the other on cool. It is simply not possible. This is causing an error code. We told you this as did the system's manufacturer (who you screamed profanities at). There isn't an air conditioning condenser - in the world - that can provide heating and cooling at the same time. It's like asking a car to go forwards and backwards at the same time. There is no problem with your equipment."

Though the project took a bit longer than expected, the air conditioner is functioning perfectly. We discovered that our monthly cooling bills are less than before so the technician was right that a more efficient unit would be a cost-saver over time. Timo's added a one-year maintenance contact as a part of the deal which was appreciated. Courteous, professional and competent. All the things you want in a heating/cooling contractor. Price? Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. I'm thrilled with our new relationship with Timo's.

Timo's service was great from start to finish. When providing the quote, they took the time to answer all my questions and concerns. They provided various pricing options based on my expected seasonal usage. Installation was done in 1 day and the installers showed up exactly on time and were very clean.

very well. Timo's first question was Do you have A/C now? Some AC service companies do not prioritize and rush on those that are without AC. Timo's is genuinely concerned and those without AC get moved up fast. Very professional.

The relationship with Timo's and specifically the technician who visited our home was exactly what we all hope will occur. If the technician who came to check out our ac system represents the rest of the folks at Timo's then they are indeed the company to call first. I actually look forward to having the opportunity to recommend this company and will do so whenever I can. Thanks guys for a job well done!

We were very happy with the explanation of our options regarding brand, features, etc. Two technicians spent an entire day removing the old system and installing the new system. They protected the flooring and wore booties to ensure a clean environment from beginning to end. We were happy to receive a full year of servicing on the unit included in the cost of the installation.

They're very responsive. They came out to check thing when we had questions. The work, they came out a couple times to train the new thermostat they installed. They were fine. It took about a week. They had to come out and look at stuff. Then give the estimate and then we decided on it. They had to order the stuff. Then we discovered the hot water piece needed to be completely done so they ordered that piece. So it was about a weeks job.

I hired Timo's to install a new rooftop packaged air conditioning and heating unit in 2013 and spent close to $8,000.00 for the project. During the installation they attempted to install the new unit on a platform that was over 25 years old, rusted, disintegrating and a size that did not match. I consider myself lucky because had I not been present and observing the installation and not caught their mistake, they would have just dumped the new unit on the old platform. After the unit was installed and turned on, one bedroom was still getting very low air flow. They tested, measured and stated everything was working properly. As it was summer and extremely hot, I assumed that perhaps the room wasn't properly insulated and waited for a few months for the temperature to cool off to sample its output. The unit was still totally inadequate, so I called another vendor for a second opinion. After examining the ducts, they discovered that the reason for the restricted air flow is because one of the ducts had an old "damper" that was once controlled electronically. It has since become obsolete and inoperable, but the reason the air has been restricted is because the damper was in the CLOSED position. The geniuses at Timo's were never able to figure this out. Fast forward to my most recent problem. The air flow from another room was not working, so I contacted Timo's again to investigate and I met with Chris. He confirmed that there was a problem and poked his head into the attic crawl space. He took some photos and stated that it appears as there is a break in the duct. Since the space was so tight, he suggested having a physically smaller employee inspect would call within two days to schedule another appointment. Three weeks go by and no phone call so I telephoned their office and left a message with Tracy for Chris. No call back Another week goes by and once again, I telephoned. I was told by Tracy that she would contact him and call me back. She tried to find the notes and photographs that Chris took a month prior and said, "It appears that he didn't follow procedure". No notes were taken or photos provided. She stated that she would contact him again and call me back. Again, no call back. Another week or so goes by and I telephone and speak with Tracy. She tells me that is surprised that Chris didn't return my call. I ask to speak with the owner, Joe Timo as they are about to lose my business She said that he wasn't available, would leave him a message and she would personally follow up with Joe Timo and call me back. By the close of business the next day no call back so I once again, called. She stated that she will have Chris' manager contact me directly to review the problem. Surprise... no call so I again contact Tracy and am quite irate at this point. She then has the manager, Marcus contact me and we schedule an appointment for the next day to inspect the problem as well as service the unit. Marcus arrived, inspected the problem and stated that he was too large physically they access the attic. He said that he planned to scope the vent with a camera. However, surprise... he forgot the equipment. He asks if he could postpone servicing the unit until the next day when he returned with the camera. let him know that I was waiting for a call within the next hour before I knew my schedule. He said that the late morning would work for him and gave me his cell number to confirm that same evening. At 5:58, I sent him a text stating that I would be available any time before 2:00pm and to please let me know his ETA. He wrote back a few minutes later and said, "Ok will do". Not that I should be surprised, but I received no reply. I sent him another text the next day at 3:45pm and was ignored and received no response. Now, I am ready to explode so the office and spoke with Tracy. Again, I asked to speak to the owner, Joe Timo and was told she would need to investigate first and call back. When she did return the call she stated that she could have another technician come out. Really? At this point, there is no way and again ask to speak to the owner to try to rectify the situation. She stated that she would leave him another message. It has now been 10 days later and I have again been ignored. Okay, fine, I tried I should have cut my losses earlier and against my better judgement, I have given Timo's chance after chance after chance and they have continually blown it. Never have I been treated with such disrespect and contempt. I belong to multiple neighborhood organizations and community forums. Many times there are inquiries from other members for recommendations. The one recommendation I will make, is select ANYONE other than Timo's!!!
Response from Timo's Air Conditioning and Heating Inc
"9/7/2016 1. After installing your unit in 2013, you complained of poor airflow to a specific room. We explained, due to limited space, it was not possible to modify the ductwork - which is original to the home. You were displeased, and I understand, however we can only work with the space that's given. 2. Immediately after the install you asked our technician Mike L. if there was a way of modifying the duct work. He and Marcus both looked at the attic space and came to the conclusion that there wasnt enough space to work. 3. You then wanted a third opinion and the owner, Joe, soon came out and opened up the grille on the soffit to come to the same conclusion - there was not enough space to run new ducting. 4. You called again, explaining you were unhappy with the airflow to that same area. That's when I went out. I believe you specifically asked for a smaller guy. At 150lbs, I was certainly the smallest of our techs, however, not quite 20 inches tall - the height requirement to work in your attic. I came to the same conclusion as those before me. 5. You called again, complaining of poor air flow to that same room. You insisted a smaller person may be able to figure out what you need. Still - no one micro-sized here at Timo's. 6. Fast forward to over a year and you called the office again, complaining of poor air flow to the same area. At this time, the only tech we could send was Chris, who's 6 foot 6 and 300 lbs. I can only imagine your disappointment. Chris took photos, came back to the office and showed them to us. We explained that we've been down this road multiple times and the conclusion is - "it ain't gonna happen." 7. You called upset that Chris didn't get back to you, and I apologize for that - Chris did drop the ball there. However, we did send Marcus out - again - and he said for the 5th time.... We cannot modify the ductwork due to the space. Marcus said you asked if we hired anyone smaller that may be able to fit. No... not yet. To recap, this is a list of people that did answer your question: Sergio Mike Marcus Joe Joey Marcus again Chris failed to do so, and we truly apologize for that."

Out-of-town owners; follow-up with Timo’s AC to insure your work request was completed. As a result of Timo’s AC failing to perform the preventive maintenance agreement, a service call was generated by the tenant’s. I reside in Texas and the subject rental property is located in Palm Desert, California. The home was built in 1994 and is valued at approximately 400k. I am writing the below factual material to inform others about this company. Timo’s AC is not going to go broke, nor lose current customers because of this writing. The HVAC industry is overwhelmed by service calls. Like you, I read the reviews on Angie’s list and they were all positive. Based on my readings, it appeared that this company did quality work and was very responsive to the customer’s needs. Bottom line, Timo’s AC never performed the maintenance agreement in the Spring and Fall of 2015, which led to a service call from the tenants in October of 2015 because the unit wasn’t cooling, just three days before I inquired about never receiving a bill for the preventive maintenance agreement. All this could have been avoided if a tech went out to the property in the Spring and Fall, as agreed upon during a phone conversation with Mr. Timo and I in January 2015 to set-up a preventive maintenance agreement. GET IT IN WRITING! Mr. Timo has too much on his plate. Additionally, this company ignored my email sent on April 13, 2016 to set-up future preventive maintenance agreements. After one week, I never received a reply so I ask the property manager to follow-up with Timo’s. The property manager stated she didn’t get a response either. January 2014: Timo’s Air Conditioning & Heating installed Trane XL 16i, complete system, both indoor and outdoor unit. I paid half up-front and immediately paid the other half upon completion of the work. Since this is a rental property with high ceilings, I had a 4” media filter installed with the unit. (With the 1” filters in the ceiling, the tenant would have to use a 12’ ladder to change-out the filter.) This filter only needs to be changed every 4-6 month, versus a standard 1” filter. The media filter is located in the attic and I was going to take-on the responsibility and hire Timo's to have the filter changed so that the tenant wouldn’t be burdened with tending to the AC system. August 2014: I contacted Timo’s Air Conditioning to perform a Fall service. Service was performed, which included filter replacement, washing outdoor unit, blow-out drain lines, and check amps and charge. I immediately sent a check upon completion of work. So far, everything is great! January 2015: I contact Timo’s Air Conditioning and spoke to Mr. Joe Timo, owner of the company, to set-up a preventative maintenance agreement for 2015. Mr. Timo and I agreed to have two services performed in 2015; one in March-April and the second Sept-Oct. I also provided him with the property manager’s information so Timo’s AC could gain access to the house at the tenant’s convenience. October 2015: I have not received an invoice from Timo’s AC for the preventive maintenance agreement, so I email the company and get a response. Ironically, Timo’s AC was out at the property for a service call a couple of days before I sent the email because the unit wasn’t cooling. THE BELOW IS THE EXACT WORDING ON THE INVOICE THAT I RECEIVED: “RE: SERVICE CALL, NO COOL. DESCRIPTION OF WORK PERFORMED: -Tech out to residence for no cool call -Ran and tested system -Tech found system low on refrigerant -Tech adjusted charge to system -Tenant replaced the air filter in grills -Ran and tested system again System is cooling properly at this time. Note: Tenant wants to replace his own filters every 30 days and doesn’t want to go into the attic to do it. So we removed the attic filter so he can just change the filters in the grills. Maintenance Agreement (Includes 2 services and discount on future repairs if needed) $149 Added refrigerant $119 Due: $268 Note: 1st service of agreement done today” I am a certified technician in the HVAC industry and here’s how I would have handled the situation if I was Mr. Timo. I personally would have contacted the customer and advised them that the failure to perform preventive maintenance on your unit in both the Spring and Fall of 2015 was an oversight on my part; therefore, I will check your evaporator coil and clean it, if needed, at no charge to you. If I was too busy to contact the customer, I would have had my office assistant do it. I NEVER RECEIVED AN APOLOGY FROM THE COMPANY! I was just looking for the two hardest words in the English language that so many of us can’t say…..”I’m sorry.” When I contacted the company after I received the service invoice, I spoke to the office assistant. I was extremely professional over the phone. (I had recently retired after 33 years as a Dallas Police officer in August of 2015, and I treat people with the utmost respect.) I was questioning why they changed out the filters to the new location without consulting me first. It didn’t occur to me why this happened until after I got off the phone with them. The tech who received the service call never knew that I set-up a maintenance agreement in January of 2015, with Mr. Timo, and he was just going by what the tenants said. November 2015: I had Timo’s AC go back out to the property to remove the 1” filters and install the 4” media filter, so the tenant wouldn’t be burdened with this. This counted as my second preventive maintenance! December 2015: I received an email from the office assistant at Timo’s AC stating that she will contact the tenants at the subject property in March of 2016 to complete the AC maintenance. In the same email, the office assistant stated, “I will contact you around the same time after I have confirmed an appointment to discuss the 2016 maintenance plan.” April 2016: I haven’t heard from Timo’s AC since December of 2015, so I email the office assistant and cc’d Mr. Timo and asked if they scheduled a PM on the property. After one week, I got no reply so I ask the property manager to follow-up with Timo’s. The property manager stated she didn’t get a response either. I gave Timo's AC an "F" in two categories. The first was "Responsiveness" and the second was "Professionalism." The aforementioned clearly justifies why Timo's earned an "F" in these two categories. If I were to ignore a citizen's question or email in my past profession, I would have been fired! As I said earlier, I'm simply writing this to make sure that you follow-up with the company to insure the work was performed. Please don't make the same mistake that I did and assume the work was completed!

We had a problem getting our usual company out to fix our AC and then they let us know they would not be working the following day, a Saturday, to complete their fix as they were "only dealing with emergency situations. "  Well, we had en emergency too as we were expecting guests arriving for their vacation.  We tried Timo's because of their great reviews here at Angie's in hopes of getting an immediate response and a timely repair.  They were glad to work on a Saturday and were very responsive.  They had the system up and running hours before the guests arrived. The tech was polite and friendly, explained everything and texted pix to show exactly what was wrong.  We now have them doing twice a year service and are glad we found them.   <br>
