The project was tedious at best. I had to constantly come by the home to ensure that work was being performed because they seemed to be not working more than working. They never came to work before 9:00 am, didn't work on weekends, and he was never prepared when he did arrive for work.
Throughout the project he was consistently offering to do extra work to raise the price. Additional dollars to hang the fans, to put the lights up that he took down; tried to get rid of mirrors, etc. They didn't tape or remove doorknobs and windows and made a mess throughout the entire home that I am still cleaning.

I consistently had to inform him of work that was half done such as painting the panel, not removing the mirror before texturing, not removing the fan base when removing popcorn; therefore when I installed new fans, he had to go over and retouch ceilings in two rooms.

He was not completed with all of the work until late on December 14, 2015, after I moved into the house on December 13, 2015, despite being given all of December 12, 2015 due to the laminate company being completed early with their portion. However, then I had more to clean up as I wanted him to be completely finished before the laminate was installed.

On December 15, 2015, he texted stating he had final balance with receipts. I informed him there are issues with the shower as water comes from the faucet and showerhead at the same time. He stated that is a result of the faucets that i bought and not his work. I informed him that is not the case and would be getting a second opinion. He said fine, but he needs payment. I informed him the garage was not painted and the fixtures in home have not all been replaced such as coverings for vents and alarm panels. He stated he is completed with the work. He further stated he added all of his receipts and I owed him over $ 1700. I informed him that my balance is $ 380.00 plus the additional fee he was charging to fix bathroom sink faucets and hang light in dining room. Those are the only additional expenses that I authorized. He again stated he needed to collect payment. I informed him to provide me his documentation and I would review it. I would be home on December 15, 2015 @ 1:00 pm if he wanted to discuss. He didn't show and texted me at 6:30 pm to inquire if I was home. I informed him that I just left. He wanted to drop off paperwork. He put it in the mail box and again requested payment. I informed him that I would review and contact him.

The receipts he provided were for materials that were to be included in the initial bid. He is threatening to bring me to court and put a lien my house. He wants me to pay a higher balance then what work he actually performed. He was supposed to supply all of the materials except the bathroom materials (sink, cabinet, toilet) and the tile. I told him upfront that I needed an all-inclusive estimate because I wanted to go with the best bid and the other companies were including materials in their bids. In my opinion, I think he underbid himself and now he is trying to recoup money. He is trying to give me a new invoice $1,740 for the knockdown texture, when he quoted me and I approved $1,380. He never reviewed the receipts with me when it is apparent in the initial contract that materials are included in the price. I also informed him that Red Bull purchases on the receipts are not something that will be reimbursed; however, he continued to say I owed him the money. He offered to reduce to $ 1500.00; however, he would not explain the receipts and would not fix the bathroom shower or paint the garage as promised.

I informed him that I sought a second opinion from True Noble Plumbing / Electrical and the shower issue is not a result of the faucets, rather a contractor error. He refused to accept responsibility and would not discuss the issue. The issue in the shower is the divertor valve is malfunctioning, which should have been tested prior to putting up the hardy back board and tile; and it wasn't. The only option to fix it is to tear down the tile, or cut out a panel going through my living room wall. I can manually fix the issue by putting a shut off valve on my shower head and turn it and off every time the shower is used.

I told Marco that I was willing to discuss issues; however, he was not. I told him that I would pay the balance of $ 380.00 plus $ 200.00 in additions; however, he stated if I do not pay full amount then don't pay anything and he would make me pay extra for everything additional that he did, whether i approved it or not, I mailed a check to him on December 17, 2015 for the amount of $ 580.00.

I will resolve the issue of the shower on my own, as well as changing out doorknobs that are painted, paint the garage, and locate and hang all of the covers he removed.

I also purchased paint for bathroom cabinet and hired someone else to paint them because Marco was not meeting his deadlines.
