Tom's Environmental Care

Tom's did an excellent job trimming my large flowering pear tree and several fruit trees. Showed up on time and cleaned up the mess. Will use again. <br />

The project was broken into three phases, and we've now completed the first two with the third being completed over the next few weeks.  The first phase--clean-up was perfect--his crew was right on schedule, were a delight to work with, amazingly helpful and trustworthy.   An A+, and exactly to the approved cost estimate. <br /> Phase Two: landscape design, choosing materials and plants....Tom hit it out of the park with his tireless commitment to painstakingly conceptualize, design, and select individual plants one by one.  We worked together on ideas, met at nurseries to make final selections, and he would make revision after revision until he felt it was perfect.  Another A+. <br /> Phase Three: installation. Now that the plants have been placed throughout the yard and all other material: stones, ground covers, mulch, etc. has been selected, all  installation will be done over the next week.  I'm 100% certain it will be another A+---that's the only way Tom and his crew operate. <br />

It was fine and not expensive. They were the cheapest and were a third of the cost of anybody else. They did a nice job.

We used Tom's Environmental several times in the years we lived in Orange and they provided excellent service at a reasonable price. <br />

I had a small jungle growing in various locations, so these guys came out for 2 days and did a bunch of weeding and pruning all the way down like cutting the roses down to the bare roots and general repair work. They were very nice, very professional and extremely quick. The guys who came out to do the work included the one who is taking over more of the day to day responsibilities. He was extremely good and they were very responsive to questions and concerns. The leader of the workers had extremely good English and did a nice job.

As usual, Tom Shaver, the owner, comes out, provides an estimate on the spot, and calls within a day or so to schedule the work.  His crew showed up on time and got right to work.  They work quickly and efficiently and clean up at the end of the job.  The only downside, on this occasion, was one of the crew smoked.  We did not ask him stop as he was outside and they would only be there for a couple of hours.  I have used Tom for many years now and will continue to do so.

Tom is very knowledgeable and took his time to not only give estimate and advice on requested service but inspected and advised on treatment of other plants on property also.  I was so impressed I am pending an estimate on a referral by Tom providing continuing care of garden on a regular monthly basis.  His crew arrived on time and worked hard to install the sprinkler system and seed the yard and Tom followed up on a regular basis for the following two months keeping an eye on the lawn to provide follow up care to see that the new seed was fertilized preperlyand the weeds killed off.  He always kept in touch with me and advised me promptly when he could not find a part to continue a task and kept me abreast of the situation until the part was found.  The yard is looking quite nice and is improving per his predictions. <br />

The first thing that happens is a visit from Tom - at that time you walk the property together and determine the scope of work.  He will make suggestions about how much to trim etc.  and perhaps identify some areas that could use some new plantings.  He gives you his itemized pricing on the spot - and you can then schedule.  His crew arrived before 8AM on the first day - the total job took 1.5 days.  On the second day, Tom arrived with the crew with the added plantings and positioned them in the beds.  The crew then planted them and completed their work.  As we did the final walk through, we asked the crew to do some additional cuttings - which they promptly performed.  We wanted a little extra taken off some edges.  It was a lot of work - we have lots of trees and shrubs that require an annual cut and shaping.

We were very happy with them. Their price was very fair. They charged $100 for the pump and $35 for sprinkler heads. They were very responsive and a very well based company. They were very good at responding and doing the job right at a very reasonable price. My husband was very happy the first time they came out and every time since then they responded quickly. They were quick enough in other words. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

It was kind of hard to get a hold of him. After I talked to him he came promptly.  He does great work and the crew is very nice.  We use them now for yard work.

This was our second time using Tom's Environmental Care, and I doubt it will be the last! Tom came out to give us an estimate, and spent 30 minutes making sure he fully understood what we were requesting. He provided the quote on the spot, and we scheduled the time with him a couple of weeks later. <br /> <br /> His two man team arrived on time at 8:30 am, and got to work right away. They were very professional and polite, and started the project by walking around the house with my wife to be certain what we wanted.  The dug out and put into pots 4 large "Heavenly Bamboo" plants. The remaining plants we simply wanted removed, and many of them were large shrubs that had been growing for 40+ years around this house. These two gentlemen worked tirelessly! They not only dug the plants out, but they dug out all the roots too. We had several decorative rocks amongst the plants they were removing, and they did a great job getting the plants out but not breaking the rocks or just shoving them in a pile - instead, the smaller ones were put into a bucket for us, and the larger ones were placed near where they had been before. They hauled away all the debris (two tuckloads!), and left the yard very clean. For the plants they trimmed, they did it by hand and did a great job. They cut them back, but did it carefully, so the plants still had the right shape and will grow in evenly. <br /> <br /> When they left, all that was left behind was clean patio / entryway, bare, level earth, and nicely trimmed shrubs. <br /> <br /> When he gave us his estimate, Tom also offered to spend some time with us at local nurseryies to pick out the replacement plants, based on the theme/look we want, and then bring them to the house and install them. Given our past experiences, we'll be taking him up on that!

Tom was on time for the estimate and gave us a reasonable estimate for the work. His workers were here when they were supposed to be and did a very good job, especially considering digging in our clay soil is like digging in concrete. Tom himself came back a couple of times to make sure all was well and make adjustments to the new sprinkler system. Recently one of the new sprinkler timers went bad and Tom came to our house and took care of the problem. Overall, the work and professionalism displayed by Tom and his crew could not have been better. We were extremely pleased.

I called Tom for and estimate and he was on time an professional for that appointment. I decided to use his services and made an appointment to have the trees trimmed. Tom called about a week before the appointment and asked if he could reschedule due to a conflict and as it was the change didn't affect me too much so we agreed on the revised date. Tom give me a 5% discount for the change. <br /> <br /> Tom and his crew showed up right on time and after reviewing the work to be done, his crew went right to work. Unlike a previous service we used, Tom's crew did all the work without chain saws. I think this resulted in better shaping and lacing not to mention a much quieter experience for me and my neighbors! <br /> <br /> After the trimming was completed, the crew did a very good job of cleaning up all cuttings. <br /> <br /> We are very happy with the result and the professionalism exhibited by Tom's crew and hope to use his services in the future.

Tom came out to look at the tree at a rental and called me back with an estimate. I did not need this done immediately <br /> and did not want to have to be there for the job. It was completed quickly and at a very fair price. He later came to my home for evaluation of the sprinklers for the yard. He is very knowledgeable on plants and irrigation systems. Recommended that I did not need to change anything. I appreciated the honesty. I would call Tom and this company again.

Tom was professional on the phone and not only did he come out when promised, he called me that day and said he could come early and was out to the house right on time at the revised, earlier time.  He was knowledgeable and not only provided estimates of what we requested, but provided alternatives to the work we requested (rehab of lawn vs. total replacement of lawn, for example.)  He did not make any promises he could not keep, he told us right up front that he did not deal in hardscape, but offered a referral to someone who did.  Once we retained his services to provide a plant for the front planter and do repairs to our drip irrigation system and yard faucet, he came out to do the work on time and kept in phone communication with us, informing us what was done and what he was unable to do at that time.  The repairs to the drip irrigation system required some hunting for just the correct part and he kept us informed of his progress and informed us once the work was done.  He not only educated us on how to care for the plant that we purchased from him (Lavender plant) but also provided advice on how to care for several other plants we had just recently had planted by another, totally unreliable landscaper (who never followed through on their promise to provide care instructions).  We are most eager to retain this business for further work in the future as our budget allows and do not hesitate to recommend this business to others.

Tom was very informative. His estimate covered exactly the work we wanted done. Work was done on time and completed professionaly. They did a good job of haul away and clean up. Price was very competitive. I would highly recommend.

I called to get a quote and Tom came out the next day for the quote. When I told him I wanted the work done he said he would be able to do it the following week. I then told him I had more time to be available the current week but next week would be fine. He called me back and said he could fit me in and sent his crew the next day. They trimmed my trees, seems like they did a great job and cleaned up. With fruit trees if you don't trim them correctly you don't get as good of a crop the following year, they really seemed like they knew what they were doing.
