Bernard gave me a more than fair quote and started the job right on time, as scheduled. The communication among us and Bernard was clear and concise. But the best part of the process was the execution of his employees, Lambert and Julian. These guys are the real deal! They're respectful of the property, communicate wonderfully every step of the way, worked tirelessly until the job was done to perfection. Worst contractor I ever dealt with. They were the highest price of all the bids I got but they had good reviews, so we tried our luck. Messy workers, took much longer then it should have. They were poorly equipped and borrowed tools from me to finish the job. They made multiple mistakes and when asked to fix them all I got was excuses. When the work wasn't right they became terrible to deal with. WE negotiated a discount and tried to get someone in to fix what they did but no one would touch the mess, they all wanted to rip out all the dry wall and start over. We couldn't do the work again so we are living with terrible seems, crooked joints, lumpy walls, and an AC duct that they crushed and doesn't flow much air at all. We will have to open up some of the mistakes to make them right, but we just couldn't do it now.

So after a long search for a good contractor I went with Bernard and his team. I wanted to expand a 1/2 bathroom that I had, expand my tiny half closet, and refinish my basement. Everything looked like it was from the 60s and it was very dark. The bathroom was extremely tiny where it just barely fit a toilet and vanity. Bernard was very knowledgable and easy to talk too. He was always ready to help answer any questions I had either through text messages or phone calls. We sketched out the plan of how I wanted the bathroom designed, and then he gave me a list of materials I needed to buy. His men were definitely professionals in their trade (plumbing, electrical, tiling, etc). I watched each day as things progressed and they really took pride in their work to make things look perfect. Lampert one of the main workers was there just about everyday and he too was able to explain why I needed certain things or how things worked. Each of the workers helped give me some other ideas as the project continued through. They were there everyday at 7 am except for Sundays and had all my work done in 2 weeks and a half. I was very pleased and would definitely hire Bernard and team again for future projects. I'm very happy with how everything came out. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for renovations.

Throughout the process, Bernard and his crew were professional and courteous. They addressed any of the concerns that I raised. They showed pride in the quality of their work. Bernard had initially believed the job would take 3 weeks. Despite finding additional damage that was not known until the project progressed, the team still finished on schedule. Bernard even had a cleaning crew come in on the final day to clean all of the dust that was generated from removing the tile floor. I would highly recommend Tool Time Home Improvements and plan to use them again myself for future projects.

Not only did he do the kitchen and bath, he refinished my whole basement - including mouldings, painting, electrical, plumbing, with a staircase and beautiful railings, added new windows and removed debris. Very clean worker and showed up on time. He did my driveway and paver stone and did my siding. He put on new gutters and leaders for me. He also provided financing, which was very critical for me. He had 0% financing with his company. They were early every day and the job turned into a wonderful experience with no problems. He was very professional and the guys loved doing the work. It was a very pleasant experience.

We decided to work with Bernard on this job due to his honest approach to estimating cost and the pride he takes in his work.  Due to prior homeowners not maintaining the home properly, we were faced with a signifiant amount of water and insect damage to one wall of our den (and possibly another wall in the same room).  We engaged Tool Time Home Improvement to assess the extent of the damage, make all repairs and install an Anderson window where we had a mis-matched vinyl replacement. <br /> During the course of the job they: <br /> 1. Ripped the drywall within the room just enough to properly assess the extent of the damage (saving us costs). <br /> 2. Reframed certain parts of the wall that needed new structure. <br /> 3. Installed our matching Anderson window. <br /> 4. Re-hung shingles on the outside of the house after completing the window installation. <br /> 5. Installed new molding and created a custom piece to "join" the two windows (old and new) and make them appear as a single unit. <br /> 6. Insulated, re-rocked, taped and spackled the wall. <br /> 7. Explored additional wall to guage potential damage.  They did so with minimal damage to the drywall and fixed it prior to finishing the job.  As a result of their exploration, we decided it was not necessary to replace structure in the wall. <br /> Overall, our experience with Bernard was great.  He and his crew were polite and efficient, clearly taking pride in a job well done.  We would have scored them even higher overall had we not had initial miscommunication between the workers that were on the job.  This was cleared up as soon as Bernard arrived, and we were both very happy with the overall result. <br /> <br /> <br />
