They were very unprofessional even whe we told them the job doesn't look right. They did the work when they were complaining. The didn't do anything by code. They will say whatever you want to hear and they do something different. They never honored their two year warranty. They didn't come a couple of times when they said they would come.

<p>The guy (owner?) who came to do the quote was very professional, on time, and went over options for fixing minor stucco cracks. This part was easy and went really well. The contractor showed up several days later as scheduled and started pressure washing. The crew was two men who clearly knew what they were doing and the cleaning of the house and walkways went quickly. The next day two men came, one from the previous day and a new worker and they were missing supplies. The experienced worker left to get supplies and was gone for several hours. During this time the second guy who was sitting in my front yard started getting angry, asked to use my phone, and left. When the second worker returned he was upset the first guy had left. He had also bought a different paint than was agreed on but promised it was the same quality or better. The one man started painting and he did an excellent and quick job on my small house with the paint and trim. Very few of the cracks have returned and the ones that have were not unexpected as they were the larger cracks to begin with. The warranty covers fixing any cracks that return but we have not intended to claim for those.</p> <p>Part of the job, and the most important to us was fixing our front door. The builders grade paint was peeling and slightly bubbled in places. Top coat had included fixing this in the quote and we knew there was a premium built in to cover this as it was going to be quite a bit of work. Instead of sanding down or chemically peeling the door as we expected, the painter simple pressure washed the door to knock off the big chunks of paint and then painted it. This is our only huge complaint - the door is now bubbling worse than ever and looks awful. Myself and my husband have called repeatedly and left messages since October with no return call. We really need this fixed as it is our front door and is really obvious. This is my summer project if I don't get a response and is also the reason we will not recommend them even though the rest of the house looks great.</p> <br />

We had a very small time frame to do the work. Two cleaners came in and finished the job in two days. They arrived on time and cleaned up well.

We are happy with the painting, absolutely. I like their attention of detail and excellent work. It has been a while but probably, we would call again. I cannot remember because my husband handled all of that. We do not have those. I do not have the numbers right in front of me. We would not have selected if they did not give us the good deal.

They were great! 2 guys came and each guy gave me a half day, and that worked out perfect for me. I had odds and ends that needed touched up.

BREACH OF CONTRACT WARNING! The owner, Dave Mays, will not honor our contract and as a result of his shabby unprofessional exterior paint job, my home must stripped of the paint he applied. The conditioner must be applied, and the walls then re-painted. He cut corners by not properly pressure washing my home as per the contract, not trenching around the foundation of the home as per the contract, and not cleaning the pool cage as per the contract, and not applying the Sherwin-Williams Loxon conditioner product before applying paint as per the contract. The Sherwin-Williams paint started peeling of my home in a large area and in various smaller areas just days after his crew completed the job. They started painting the next day after pressuring washing the house thereby not allowing it to dry first. They attempted to paint over paint that had been flaking off prior to the "pressure washing" and, after the "pressure washing", was still on the wall but now had water behind it. I could pull the bubbled paint off easily and see the water run down. I stopped them when I saw that and the painter tried to defend painting over old flaking paint with water behind it. However, after I complained, they scraped the lose paint off and re-painted it. It still has bubbles where I could pop the bubble and peel the paint off. They didn't trench around the foundation until after they put the first coat of paint on the walls and then, only after we complained about them not trenching as per the contract. If we knew that the paint would fail in just days we would not have paid him a dime. Unfortunately, he will not respond to e-mails or certified letters and refuses to refund our money. The cost of removing the failing paint from the walls via a 2000 psi pressure washer and just re-painting the walls nearly exceeds the amount of the original paint job. I would not ever again use a contractor that is not a BBB member in good standing in addition to have a decent rating here. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND using this contractor. <br />

That turned out well.  They were very professional and did a good job.  It was a couple of thousand dollars more than the big deal for the other rooms they painted.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It worked out fine. They did a very good job. The price for the Big Deal was the final cost. We would use them again in the future.

Dave was excellent to deal with and gave great advice. <br /> The guys were also very pleasant to work with.  They made a mistake the first day as they had a misunderstanding as my house has all smooth walls as they were supposed to backroll the spray and this was not realized until they already did the second coat.  But they apologized for the mistake and reapplied the second coat and backrolled it with no complaints which made me a feel a lot better as other contractors in the past would have either whined and complained excessively or asked for more money.  They just took care of it like true professionals.  I would say handling things like that in a professional manner is "the best" reason why you should consider Top Coat painting.  Then as they did all the touch-up work you might think they would try to shortcut the job to get out early.  Nope, they wanted to make sure I was 100% percent satisfied!   <br /> A very fair price and a great job.  I would recommend Top Coat to my friends and family without hesitation. <br />

I purchased the painter for a day Big Deal on Angies list and decided to have my garage painted.  Billy and Brian showed up to paint my garage.  My job had been scheduled the day before so I rushed to get all of the garage items out of thier way.  There were some items which i needed help with such as a couple of file cabinets, some boxes and a car which did not run and had to be pushed out of the way.  The moving took approximately 30 minutes for each guy that calculated to an hour of my 8 hours day.  Shortly after the move they started sealing some gaps between my walls and the ceiling.  These had been cover up by some sort of tape.  The sealing job looked very professional.  They then started to paint to ceiling.  I had provided them the paint but shortly found that I had not purchased enough.  While they were painting I went to the paint store to purchase more paint.  When I returned I found that they were just about out of paint, so one had started on the walls which was a differet color.  After they were done painting the ceiling and walls they asked me to look over what they had done.  I found a few places that I wanted a second coat.  They quickly repainted those areas and everything looked great.  After they were done painting they cleaned up everything and the garage really look great.  We then moved the file cabinets and car back into the garage.  My garage has never looked so good.  The total time it took was 9 hours which was an hour over my painter for a day coupon.  So I was charged a small additional fee.  They did a really good job and I would nothesitate to recommend them for future jobs. <br />

Did a decent job painting.  We're not well prepared.  Didnt have all needed equipment e.g. had to go buy more painting tape.  Also didnt cleanup all the micro spray on the floor.  Should have done a better job with floor cover. <br />

My wife and I bought our home 4 yrs ago and have always hated the color. Finally having the budget to do the home paint we received about 4 or 5 bids from painters both from Angie's List and other sources. Top Coat was the best priced and reputation we found. They were not pushy, very understanding and completely professional. Dave, the owner, visited our home and did a walk through with me explaining what we wanted. We were given a proposal and was blown away that they beat the next best proposal we had by $240. I am a research junky so I did all the research I could and was satisfied with hiring Top Coat. <br /> Jason, the painter and his helpful were awesome to deal with. They were patient with me with our paint selections (I am lousy at picking colors) and even offered suggestions. They asked for specific concerns I may have had and were very accommodating. We had issues with weather causing delays but they got the job done in a total of 5 days. That including a deep pressure wash which Jason showed and explained to me the multiple problems we had from a previous owner and made sure he did everything to completely satisfy us. We could see just how lousy of a job the previous owners did and Jason corrected everything. I had concerns that the mess would be an issue due to the extent of the pressure washing and the fact we had just completed a $550 sealing job on our pavers but they did a great job cleaning up.  <br /> After the job was completed Jason and I did a complete walk through of the house allowing me to point out any concerns. Funny thing is he discovered some missed areas before I did! I was very pleased with that. Overall my wife and I were very satisfied with the work Top Coat Painting performed and would highly recommend them to anyone!  <br />

The services provided by Top Coat Painting were extremely professional and timely. The process took about three days with them starting with the prep of the windows, cleaning of the gutters and pressure washing on the first day. They then proceeded with exterior and trim of the house on the next couple of days. The outcome of the paint services was "a breath of fresh air", for me considering the previous color. I even received a compliment from my neighbor saying that the paint job looked like a brand new house. I would definitely recommend them to potential clients looking to get their house painted. I would also utilize them for future projects. <br />

They painted them all. Did an excellent job, very punctual and professional!  cleaned up everything,I would not hesitate to use them again.. <br />

Dave's team was on time and true professionals.  They did an outstanding job painting the house and when they completed the pool deck the color was lighter than we expected, so I called Dave to let him know that I was not happy with the pool deck.  Dave said if you are not 100% satisfied then neither am I.  Choose a darker color and I will send my team out again to repaint the deck.  The pool deck got repainted a darker color with no charge for paint or labor.  Phenomenal work by Dave and his team - I will use him in the future and recommend him to anyone needing their home painted. <br />

I have been calling them since October 2013 to have the front door repainted / fixed because the paint <br /> is bubbling and they refuse to come out and fix it.  <br /> Two weeks ago I spoke with Dave and he said he was personally coming out and did not on Friday March 14.  Today March 18, he again promised someone was going to come out and they did not show. The painters did an excellent job both with prepping the house and applying the paint. They arrived on time each day and finished when expected. <br />

This crew was amazing!  Punctual, professional, and prepared.  The two man crew painted the kitchen, moving appliances on a wood floor without a scratch!  Not a drop of paint on any appliance, countertop or edge.  There was a small kitchen ceiling area, crown molding, and border that were meticulously painted in the way requested.  The Family room had the challenge of covering a dark wall with a lighter paint which was accomplished with skill and ease.  Not a streak anywhere or uneven coloring appeared.  Any detail asked was welcomed and completed.  Their knowledge was such that some suggestions made by the painters were actually more suitable for the overall look of the rooms.  Though there was not much furniture to move they made sure everything was covered and replaced in the original location.  The line at the ceiling is perfectly straight as is the woodwork.  Their services will be used again! <br />
