Total Comfort Weatherization

Overall, looks great. We are already saving money on our heating bill. Crew was professional and our sales person was easy to work with. The amount quoted was the amount paid and the value for the dollar is wonderful. Only complaint is that during window installation crew accidently damaged bathroom door and got candle wax from a scentsy that was plugged in on the curtains. Crew acknowledged the errors and immediately replaced the bathroom door, however, we still need to stain the new door ourselves.

It went really well. I was very happy with them. They were very easy to work with. The installers were extremely nice and polite. I had no complaints at all. I was very satisfied. I have recommended them to others.

Found problems that had to be corrected but gave very good information and pictures to show the changes that had to be made.

Professional, hardworking, good people. My VERY handy (and perfectionist) husband decided this was one job he didn't feel like doing. He took one look at the finished job, smiled and said one word...PHENOMENAL! Thank you, Jaime (lead installer) and Jeremy (sales)! A job well done.

Perfect. I am writing to thank and commend Total Comfort for insulating our home. Alan was most helpful and knowledgeable of every aspect of the job, and quite a bit else about our home as well. The workers, Carlos and Pamfilla, arrived on time and knew exactly how long the job would take. They were clean, informative, friendly, and neat. Questions arose, and they had multiple answers and let me choose. They installed attic aerators on roof, installed the insulation in both attics, and wrapped the heating pipes. We are actually looking forward to winter to test the work.

Excellent <br />

Total comfort did a good job.  I don't usually believe in leaving reviews or giving kudos, simply because I believe that good customer service should be the norm, not the exception.  That being said, the salesman was very friendly and prompt... no used car type stuff.... the installers were on time and did a great job.  They cleaned up after themselves and left the place looking like it did before they arrived.. I would recommend this company for any of your home needs. <br />

They were courteous and professional. They are hard workers and were great with communicating with us.

The experience was great. They gave us a thorough bid for the things we wanted to have done. They sent a very knowledgeable estimator that explained all of our options and potential rebates that would be available to us. We felt confident in the estimator and that he was telling us the truth about our needs and how to satisfy them. The scheduling was easy and they arrived on time and worked proficiently. They did not really disturb us even though they were taking windows out and banging on the side of the house replacing the siding. They finished the job in approximately the amount of time they estimated to do the project. They cleaned up after themselves and when they left we had a house that looked like it had just had a major makeover. We were very pleased. The windows and insulation have made an improvement in our monthly heating and cooling bills. We should have done this sooner. <br />

<p>The installer and his crew were very professional, did a GREAT job and I'm just amazed with this HOT weather, than my home has stayed MUCH cooler than it did in the past.  Can't wait to see how my heating bill lowers :)  Thanks for the GREAT job.  Clean up was great - no mess left behind - a couple of nails - but found those :)  They did take siding off my house to blow this insulation in - they did a pretty good job putting it back.  All in all I'm pleased and would refer this company to anyone.  They do a lot more than just insulation.</p> <p>The owner of the company is very caring and wants it done right - his installer has been with him for MANY years and it  shows.</p> <p>GOOD JOB!!!  Thanks <br /> <br /></p> <br />

Lots of changes in windows, delays that were blamed on CEWO and lender.  The CEWO rep and lenders were in place and ready to go claimed delays related to late paperwork submission on Total Comforts part. <br /> Team that was sent out were hard working but had issues with caulking being put outside the area windows were to be plaved thus no calking under window fins.  Wanting to shortcut issues with ill fitting windows that even met with disagreements with site supervisor.  Window order was in error as the double locks were not ordered.  The owner of company offered make s*** locks that attached to actual window frames and had hole drilled into runners.  What do you do the darn windows were here and they had started removing windows when issue was discovered. <br /> On site sales agent assured us that we would see a significant improvement in home weatherization test from before and after install.  End result the home was LESS weatherized following completion of their work.  Waited thru winter to do this review in every effort to be fair to TC.  I had them out in late November or early December following complaint filed with CEWO about coldness of home.  Was assured by owner he would have someone come out from the window company and look the issue over and woujld work with us to resolve the issue.  Result 15K later our home heating costs were higher than previous year as can be documented by utility bill. By January we started using fireplace because we could not afford to heat the home and pay for the 15K in weatherization.  To date the owner of TC has not contacted us.  He talks a good talk and makes alot of promises which somehow falls thru the cracks. In hind sight I should have stopped the work and hired an independent person to evaluate the work.  <br /> I was asked to sign a waiver for my flower bed  before the window installations, they explained they would be careful. Careful actions translated to throw down a tarp and beds and foliage was annaliated. \ <br /> The front large picture windows fog up and I was told that is normal.... hello. IU cannot see out of them... when they do this. <br /> There are ring marks inside the windows that only show up in certain lights, repeatedly this was pointed out. At first I was told that it was from the install and they just had not cleaned the windows yet. When I cleaned them the rings were still there. This was pointed out.  I even called the manufacturer...that is a joke. <br /> This company while great with smoozing the customer falls terribly short on follow thru, promises, and results.  The home tested BELOW the initial weatherization check that qualified us for the CEWO package.  We are 15K poorer and freezing our butts off, down to and including the cold air that now blows across the bedroom floor from our all new upgraded insulation... Right. <br /> It is nbow May 1 and still have yet to find out way out of the crack of communication and promises we were given to resolve this issue. At this point feel like we need to contact Senior and Aging Services to ask for assistance in being taken in by this company. <br />

Repair main arrived on time, worked consistently and identified problem quickly for the excessive lint showing up in my wash loads. He worked quickly and with knowledge of fast results. I would definitely call again if needed.

I originally contacted Total Comfort about weatherizing my home in April of 2013. The estimator that came out to my house was Richard Grow, while Richard was a very nice guy he was very slow to respond to my needs unnecessarily delating the project. For example on our first visit when he discussed replacing window, while this was not one of the projects we were originally planning to do I gave him very specific instructions on what we would want were we to replace them. Despite this he quoted me several times on product that was contrary to what my desires were and each time he requited it took several weeks to get the new quote, and he didn't even know what it was he was quoting, many times he had down items that were different then the ones he described. For our HVAC the subcontracted to Woodward heating for a lennox system. After receiving the initial Heat pump quote I asked for a comparison quote on a Trane heat pump as that was the brand we had previously owned. Instead of bringing in a contractor that sold Trane (or any other HVAC brand for that matter) he brought in another Lennox dealer that quoted me a lessor system than the previous quote, but for more money (wasting additional time and still not getting me a competitive comparison quote). When I finally asked to see the quotes he showed me that the original quote had 2 options with the second option as a better system for only a little more money after rebates. After selecting this better system and finalizing all the work to be done they came out and measured my windows that were being replaced. This became the next issue, as there was a problem with the window order and it did not get placed for an additional month, and then when they did come to install, some of the windows were ordered in the wrong size and had to be reordered. As for the duct sealing I have a tri level house that has an addition, which I fully understood could cause issues. Despite the best efforts of the team of installers and several visits that dragged into November they were able to make improvements but were unable to fully seal the ducts to the levels they normally would. I was very accepting of this as i understood the difficulties the house provided, and as we were now into November i just wanted the work to be finished. After all the work was completed I discussed with Richard an issue I had with the HVAC rebate, originally i was quoted an $1100 rebate but only received $1000, to which i received no satisfactory response. I also discussed a concern I had regarding tax credits. On my quote for the HVAC I was quoted $1100 in tax credits for upgrading, but was now being told it was only $500, after looking into the matter Richard returned with some forms and told me I would actually be eligible for $1300 in total credits for the work I had done, and that they would send in the forms, and i would receive something at the beginning of the year. After finally getting all of the work completed (7 months after i initially contacted them) I signed off on everything and was told I would receive a bill in the mail, which never came. I finally received a call from someone in late December asking for payment despite having yet to receive an invoice, which they then promptly did, but for the wrong amount. They had yet to adjust out the work that was never performed including a window that was not installed. After fixing this issue I paid the bill, glad to be done and expecting no further issues, until I recently contacted them regarding what I needed in order to receive the tax credit. When i called them regarding this I was informed I would receive something from Woodward regarding the HVAC ( which I did receive a form from Woodward showing a $300 federal tax credit I qualified for resulting from the work that they performed) but was told that i didn't qualify for any other rebates as my duct sealing was never able to meet the standards for the tax credits. This is despite being assured by Richard after all work was completed that I would be eligible for $1300 in credits, and despite the fact that I still have a quote for the HVAC showing i would qualify for $1100 in credits for the system installed. I was told they would ask Richard about this and get back to me, but I have yet to hear from them and doubt I will until I follow up myself. Despite the sheer incompetence of many of the staff members I have no issues with the quality of the work that was done. Terry and the crew that installed did a great job and I have seen a 30% reduction in my energy bills. I wholeheartedly recommend weatherizing your home if it is older and you would like to save on your energy costs, but I would be very cautious about the choice of contractor. While I cannot speak to the quality of the other estimators my experience has left me doubting the knowledge and competency of the sales staff at Total Comfort. <br />
