"This job was completed in September of 2014. Not sure why it took her more than 6 months to generate a review? Her information is incorrect. We painted 3 interior walls and 1 exterior wall and we stripped and restored a landing and set of steps. I charged her $900.00 for both labor and materials. I took a $225.00 deposit and she paid the balance of $675.00 once complete, and on the bottom of the check- in the memo section she wrote: "JOB WELL DONE" I had 2 men there for two days. I think that's very fair! She wanted me to do more work and I actually refused to do it because I knew she didn't have the money to properly do the job and I actually credited her back $200.00 (actual price was $1100). She never complained about the quality, my employees, the cost-nothing! Then, 7 months later-this? She is on a fixed budget. Unfortunately her husband passed the year before and she seems hyper focused on it. We had several long conversations and she sometimes broke into tears. She is a very nice person but seems extremely affected by the passing. Her review contains incorrect information and further never mentions the timing of the job, the quality, my professionalism or that of my employees. I'm not sure how you remember all the details of a job more than 6 months after the fact? If she was not happy with my price, she had the option to not purchase from me or look around for another contractor. Small jobs are sometimes a little more expensive because as a business person you still have all the same fixed costs as a larger job. That's why many contractors won't take them-I do! I don't turn anything away-NO JOB TOO SMALL! Cause, if you do a good job, they invariably lead to other projects. I feel very sorry for this woman and would be happy to discuss her project if she would pick up the phone. This is one job I wish I never accepted, had I known this was the thanks I would get. I provide quality work, completed in a reasonable time frame, at a fair price and I stand behind the quality every single day. Thank You Marc"
