Glenn and his team lead by Rich were awesome. At first we started discussing soundproofing from the basement apartment which involved destroying and re-doing ceilings etc. As you can imagine messy and intrusive work. Glenn and I discussed tackling the problem from the source: the floors above. I got a cheaper price and they immediately went to work. The results are really impressive. Before the work you would walk upstairs and every step was heard downstairs (even lite walking, moving stuff around, etc). Now almost 100% of the foot noise is gone and my sons running (barefoot) is largely suppressed. The walls on the gym area were done as well and we saw a steep reduction in sound noise from the adjacent room. Overall, I'm impressed by the professionalism and effectiveness of the work. I look forward to hiring them in the future maybe for other things not related to soundproofing.

I own a townhome, my neighbors bedroom is directly above me and I wake up all night long. I contacted Total Home Interiors, spoke to Glenn, and explained my issue. I informed him that I can arrange to have my neighbors home during the estimate to walk around, see how loud it is, and to get into their unit if necessary. Glenn informed me that was unnessary, they didn't have to be there for the estimate, and I trusted his professional opinion. He came over for the estimate and recommended I soundproof my bedroom and hallway. He explained that the work he was going to do would result in a 60-80% reduction in the sound and that I'd definitely be able to sleep at night. The estimate was $5500 and although I thought it was very expensive, it's not easy to find people that do this kind of work, so I hired him. I paid him $3200 cash upfront and gave him 2 postdated checks for the remaining 2 payments. His crew was very professional throughout the process, they worked hard, and I tipped them a total of $250, not because they fixed my issue (I couldn't have known that yet) but because they did the job they were told to do and they worked really hard. Once the project was completed, the true test was to sleep in my room and see if there was a drastic improvement like I was promised. After less than a week and still waking up at night, noticing very little improvement, I contacted Glenn to inform him it didn't work. Now that it didnt work, he asked to send over his project manager to hear how loud it is, get into my neighbors unit, take decibel readings, etc. basically everything that he should have done during the estimate and before doing the job. What was identified during this process is that the sound was coming through my closet in my spare room on the other side of the wall which wasn't soundproofed. Had he done all of this during the estimate, it would have been identified prior to doing the work and I'm sure he would have suggested that I soundproof my closet in my spare that my neighbors bedroom is also above rather than my hallway. Glenn now recommended to install an acoustic underlayment under my neighbors carpet in their bedroom. He told me he'd charge me cost because "he is a good business man". Cost for this work was an additional $3000 which to me was insane especially without a guarantee. I attempted to make a deal with him, offering him an additional $700 on top of the $2300 I owed him if he did the job and it worked. He not only refused but immediately started threating me with lawyers, putting a lien on my house, criminal charges for "theft of service" etc. After many text messages back and forth and Glenn making no attempt to fix the issue with the money we agreed to, I refused to pay the balance I owed and told him to do what he had to do and to stop contacting me. A few weeks later I received a notice for a mediation hearing as Glenn had filed a police report against me for "theft of service". I went to the mediation hearing and ended up paying $1800 to settle the outstanding payment and the nightmare that this had become. What I experienced with Glenn was a cocky businessman that will never admit when he's in the wrong. I have been looking for a new home for close to 3 months now and will be moving as soon as possible thanks to Total Home Interiors and their inability to do the job they were hired to do. I'm sure Glenn will reply to this review with lies and a fabrication of the truth, do not believe it and please proceed with caution.
Response from Total Home Interiors
"Revisionist history, If you go to the doctor and he tells you what is needed and you do not follow the prescription you will not get the full results. The client was told that additional work may be needed. Unlike most contractors I offered to do this AT cost. $3,000 may seem like a lot but, that is what it would cost to do the project. I greatly appreciate your feedback and best of luck on your new home."

Glenn and his team are knowledgeable, accommodating, and very fair with respect to price. In my experience, many contractors take advantage of unforeseen conditions to pad their profit. When we encountered such a circumstance, Glenn and his team found a cost-effective solution to the problem and provided the fix at cost. The only downside to working with Glenn and his team is you may start expecting other contractors to live up to the same standards and you will likely be disappointed.

EXCELLENT! ! I wish I could have afforded to do the double layer of sheet rock as first proposed but unfortunately funds where low. But. It still worked out the way they did it. I would definitely have them come to see a project before I ever did remodeling again!! The men were courteous, professional and I had no problem leaving them in the house when I was away.

Glenn and the Total Home staff were excellent. They showed up on time, and finished the work faster than we expected. The price was right, and 6 years later our carpets still look new. We can't recommend them highly enough.

Had the pleasure of working with Glenn, who is as friendly as he is knowledgeable. Glenn walked me through all of the different options that fit within my desired look and price range and I was very happy with the blinds I walked away with. He worked hand in hand with our interior designer to make everything look perfect with the rest of the rooms. I couldn't have had a better experience!

As the photos show, it turned out perfectly. The seems are flawless, and the results better than I expected. Total Home is truly professional, showed up on time, cleaned up after themselves, and had the work done before I expected it to be. Since this was going to be a high traffic area, with a lot of impact and heavy sled being used on the turf, it needed to be done right. And it certainly was. I cannot recommend them highly enough!
