We contacted THS based on an advertised special of a $4999 bathroom remodel and selected them after other contractors quoted us a much higher price for a similar service.  Matt, the owner, was slow to respond at first but helpfully guided us through purchasing the needed materials once we established contact.  The work began on time and demolition took less than a day, although rebuilding moved slightly slower than I expected.  The entire project took 7 workdays total. <br /> Pros: <br /> Luke and Carlos, our two primary service providers, were careful and clean each day.  I was able to continue to use the master bedroom each evening without a problem.  They went above and beyond, spackling nail holes from old fixtures and the like.  Matt did the shower tiling personally and re-did it when it did not meet his standards. They installed concrete board over the subfloor to protect against water and extra studs and braces in the shower walls,  which were upgrades from the original construction. <br /> They dealt with normal complications (slight rot in the subfloor, need to adjust plumbing and electrical to accomodate new equipment) quickly, efficiently, and at a fair price.  At one point, Matt told us that we needed to buy a shower pan, but reversed himself when we reminded him that he had previously told us that it was covered under the builiding supplies.  They worked well around my desire to paint the room over the intervening weekend. <br /> They worked independently and did not require constant supervision, but were happy to answer questions from me and my daughter as needed.   <br /> The final project looks fantastic and is a considerable upgrade. <br /> Cons: <br /> My wife perceived that they did not give her the level of courtesy or respect that they had given me when I was onsite.  They would sometimes ask her to call me for a decision on an issue rather than accepting her judgment.  This was most evident when the house main water valve broke during the project, necessitating quick work by a plumber to keep the project on track. <br /> <br /> <br />

I bought my current SFH home in June 2014 and wanted some small odd jobs done shortly after moving in.  Nothing major, but more than I could handle as a former condo owner.  I consulted Angie's List for some handymen services and rounded up four candidates to give me estimates.  Matt was very professional and answered all my questions without being condescending or dismissive.  His quote seemed fair in comparison to some of the others I got.  And he was flexible and pleasant to deal with, by both email and in person.  Once I hired him, I was glad I did.  The work quality has been excellent all around.  I have been very pleased and hope to be hiring him again soon to do a few more jobs around the house.  We had one small hiccup with the caulking in the bathtub not curing properly. But he came right back out to correct it as soon as I let him know.  Good guy and a great team.  I highly recommend him. <br />

Matt and his team were fantastic. I had an issue in my guest bathroom - the soap dish and tiles fell off the wall while my husband was showering. In late September, Matt came out to check out the damage. With the damage being inside the wall, and the dated condition of my tub and other bathroom fixtures (vanity, lighting, etc.), with Matt's guidance, I opted to do a full bathroom remodel (which was on special for $6995). <br /> Matt graciously worked with me to get the project within my budget. I was able to order my own vanity, cabinet, shower door and all fixtures at Home Depot, and I also worked with Matt to pick out a custom tile design and look to the bathroom. <br /> The team who did the remodel (Luke and I can't remember the other guy's name) was great as well. It worked out that they were able to complete most of the remodel while we were out of town, and we only had one day when we returned where they had to finish up the project. They were fast and completely professional, and did a great job not only in the bathroom, but also in cleaning up their area and my house afterwards. <br /> I am 100% satisfied with Total Home Services and will continue to use them for other projects in my house. <br />

After moving into a new condo, I had a variety of jobs to be <br /> tackled from mounting a large heavy mirror to a wall to small fix-ups like <br /> installing a new showerhead. A colleague recommended Matt Cholko and Total Home <br /> Services. She had used Matt’s services when he was just starting out, and he <br /> had made such an impression on her she kept his business card. I called Matt <br /> and left a message with his answering service. He called back that same day, <br /> and we discussed what I needed done. Right then and there, he gave me an <br /> estimate as to how many hours the work would take, and explained the fees, <br /> which I thought very reasonable. <br />     <br /> On the day of the appointment, Matt and his colleague, Luke, arrived as <br /> promised, carrying tools and equipment to my 8th floor apartment. <br /> They were prepared with everything they needed right down to the mounting <br /> hardware, and set to work right away. For positioning the mirrors and wall <br /> sculptures, they asked for my input, but were also very helpful with <br /> suggestions. When it came time to position the large mirror, it was discovered <br /> that it couldn’t be placed exactly as planned because of the electrical wiring <br /> in the wall behind that area. They recalculated and hung the mirror without any <br /> damage to the wiring or wall, and moved the dresser so that mirror and dresser <br /> were aligned and centered. Not only did Matt and Luke do all the jobs I <br /> requested but they also noticed other little things that could be handled in <br /> the allotted time. <br />     <br /> Matt and Luke were polite, professional, friendly, and very efficient. <br /> It took only a few minutes to see that they really know what they’re doing. I <br /> had the greatest of confidence that the work was being handled correctly. And <br /> they also managed the cleanup, carting away the mirror wrappings and vacuuming <br /> the sawdust from cutting down the doors. Matt was right on target with his <br /> estimated time, and the cost was as expected. I can recommend Matt and Total <br /> Home Services without reservation. As my decorating and improvement projects <br /> continue, I plan on calling Total Home Services for the help I’ll need. <br /> <br /> <br />

Price seemed very reasonable. The work was not straight forward as the part walls weren't straight, the interior walls damaged, and the floors loose. Matt and his crew did a great job working around / with these issues. I couldn't be happier withe results. <br />

I said I would use this company again and I did.  They are professional, personable and hard working.  They tried to limit the inconvenience to our family as the whole house was being painted.  The painting involved drywall patchwork, about 7 or 8 room colors and variations of trim/ceiling paint colors to match original colors.  Right before work started, I added on the popcorn ceiling removal and they were able to accommodate that request.  The owner kept me updated on the progress and expectations for the following day at the end of each work day.  Great reliable company and I will continue to use them!

Total Home was amazing.  These guys really know their stuff.  They work efficiently and neatly and effectively.  The estimate was right on target even though they ran into some problems with my tile (the sizes varied slightly).  The work looked great  when it was done and they definitely take pride in their work.  They gave me a very detailed write-up of the work done, which I needed for the Buyer of the property. I am using them again, at my new home, this time for painting. .

The bathrooms now look new, are easy to clean.  Matt was agreeable to making minor adjustments once they started the project.  He listened to my suggestions and he also suggested some improvements that he thought would enhance the bathrooms.  Homeowners needing to remodel their bathrooms should give Matt a call!  Only caution is that the jobs produce a lot of dust, so take precautions to protect against the dust.  Matt's estimate was far lower than the big companies that probably have a lot of overhead.  I would consider them again for future jobs.

We were not pleased with his work and his prices were too high. The finished product was a little rough. He didn’t pay attention to the sanding and it wasn’t as nice as the one we had up. We also had him fix a chipped brick outside and he charged us $65 for it. <br /> <br /> He made the corrections that were needed and did a thorough job.

Total Home Services is a small business contractor owned and operated by Matt Cholko.  Matt was personally involved in our projects from start to finish.  He provided estimates to perform the two bath remodels promptly and clearly.  He worked with us to design all aspects for the work, including choosing floor, wall and accent tiles, vanities, toilet fixtures and paint selections.  He was on-site every day and handled most of the more complex work (Plumbing relocation and replacement, electrical wiring, and tile work) himself. In particular, the new shower enclosure in the master bath with its all glass walls and hand laid tile is gorgeous.   His small crew was constantly courteous and diligent in their work.  Both jobs were completed to our complete satisfaction on schedule as promised in the estimate. On several occasions Matt suggested changes to the original work proposed to enhance the projects at no additional cost and he provided replacement hardware as the jobs progressed.  We were thoroughly pleased with the work performed, and intend to utilize Total Home Services again as we prepare our home to put up for sale next year.  We couldn't be happier with our experience with Matt and Total Home Services. <br />

Total Home Services did a professional job at a great price. The company owner did the work, along with an assistant. The work was excellent, and it was completed on time. They were careful and cleaned up everything to my satisfaction.
