This company installed our original AC unit. At year 9 they had to put 3 lbs of freon in our system. They did no leak check and the next year we were in the same situation but now out of warranty. The owner would not call us back, the service manager was probably the rudest person I have ever dealt with. I would never do business with this company again. This happened two years ago and has taken me this long to cool off before writing a review.

Despite numerous problems and miscommunications (e.g., employees refused to install the flue venting because I had a tile roof, a fact that was evident when they came out to do the quote), so they just dropped off the unit and left me to spend a few months finding a roofer in post-Katrina New Orleans who would do it. Although this work was spelled out in the contract, the company neither reimbursed me for the $700 I paid the roofing company, nor adjusted the final contract price. After the system was installed, I had several problems with the leaking drain line and vents, and was told that the latter problem was because I didn't have adequate insulation. Moreover, the system never seemed to adequately cool my house, so I asked the company to come out and do system assessment to make sure it everything was working properly, but they also attributed this to inadequate insulation. In 2011, the system stopped working when the condenser fan motor burnt out. Since the system was still under warranty, the company agreed to replace it, but charged me $125 for labor. In April 2012, the thermostat stopped working. Assuming it was under warranty, I contacted the company to have it replaced, only to be told that my five-year warranty began the day they dropped the system off (2/2007) and not the day it was installed (5/2007), despite the fact that the reason it couldn't be installed was because the company's employees refused to perform the flue installation that was included in the contract. At that point, I felt the company couldn't be trusted, so I had another American Standard vender replace the thermostat. In July 2014, the unit stopped working completely. I contacted another American Standard vender to look it. After a succession of technicians came out to look at the unit, each claiming that they couldn't tell me what was wrong with the system, I became suspicious that there was a problem with the actual installation or that the equipment might be defective, so I contacted a non-American Standard vender, who did diagnosed the problem as a burned out capacitor. When replacing the capacitor failed to resolve the problem, he did a complete assessment of the system and informed me that the evaporator coils were rusted due to repeated freezing and thawing, so I had them replaced at a cost of $2000. When the system stopped working soon afterwards, he suggested that I replace the entire system, but I couldn't afford to spend another $5000, so opted to purchase a few window units. I have since discovered that the likely reason for all the system problems is the fact that Total Maintenance installed a 4-ton unit (Model # 4A7A6048*1000*), instead of the 5-ton unit (Model # 4A7A6060*1000*) specified in the purchase contract, which was paid in full. Furthermore, a recent inspection of the photos of the rusted evaporator coils provided by the repair company that replaced them, shows that Total Maintenance installed American Standard ?base model? coils (Model # 4TXCC060A3HCA) instead of the ?high ?efficiency coils? specified in the purchase contract (Model # 4TXCD065AS3HCA). Because the installed unit is undersized relative to the size of my house, the evaporator coils and the rest of the system, it was being overworked?hence the failures. I called Total Maintenance a few times last summer when I discovered this fact, and despite explaining the?problem to the reception, I never received a call back from the owner. Needless to say, I believe Total Maintenance knew they'd installed the wrong A/C unit as early as 2011, when the condenser fan motor burnt out, but chose to hide this fact, in order to avoid the expense of replacing the unit. If they didn't know it, the fact that they failed to return my phone calls, suggests that substitution of the smaller-sized unit and lesser quality evaporator coils might have been intentional.

The technician attempted to repair our dishwasher but was not able to get to the motor, blaming the newer appliance model. He left a mess at our house after his 20 min visit, but not before charging us $95. I contacted the TMI office to determine what this $95 was for as we are well within our warranty and the technician was not able to complete the repair. They declared that the service fell outside the scope of our warranty since the defect was not due to their plumbing installation but due to the appliance, therefore we were charged a standard service fee for the visit.
My frustration is that I was never forewarned of their and quot;standardand quot; $95 service fee. I do not understand why the customer service rep could not advise me when I made the appointment that, should they determine the service falls outside of our warranty, there would be a service fee. I was clearly under the impression that our warranty would cover the service when I scheduled the appointment, and TMI let me continue to believe that until we were forked a bill. I attempted to negotiate a credit with the office to no avail. This company is money hungry and have no problem taking advantage of their customers. I will not be calling on their illegitimate services again.
"We have explained to this customer multiples times that we did not supply the appliances for her home that her contractor did. We cant warranty something we did NOT supply. The plumbing in her home as well as the ac and electrical wiring is in warranty. TMI is not responsible for items that we did not purchase."

Didn't even know TM,Inc. did electrical work. Used them in the past for ac work. The electrician arrived on time, quoted the work, and once approved started the work. Could not be happier with the results.
All went well, and we have been pleased with the performance of the unit; however, I did want Angie's List members to know that one of the workers fell through our attic, leaving a hole and dangling, unusable light fixture in our hallway. I did not want to pay in full until the ceiling was fixed, as promised by this company. They insisted I pay and agreed I could write beneath my signature that they were to return or have another company fix the problems. They never called or returned, and my husband asked me to let it go. Ha! I never did--at least until we had it fixed!
They did an excellent job. We have dealt with them for years. They have been our only air conditioning maintenance group since we bought our house 12 years ago. We have never had a problem with them. I think that their price is right where it is supposed to be.

Let me say first that I have someone with life threatening illness that cannot tolerate heat. The day was a very hot day, the company came, made the repair in the peak demand season within four hours. Bravo.
Following the receipt of the written estimate and our reading of the estimate, all of our questions were answered to our satisfaction. The sales consultant, Roland Rojas went over the proposal and explained in detail what we would be receiving and he addressed each and every point that we raised regarding the equipment. We found him very helpful and patient with our questions and thoroughly professional throughout the proposal and installation process. He worked to our convenience when scheduling the job and addressed in a timely fashion, each of the questions we had during, and following the actual installation, once it had been completed. This was was accomplished with the least amount of disruption to our schedule The appointment to install the system was kept promptly and the installation crew conducted themselves professionally and answered any ongoing questions that we had during the installation. They were all, each and everyone of them polite and left the installation area clean and tidy. We will would use Total Maintenance in the future.
Our experience with them was good. They were responsive in scheduling an appointment and in getting back at me. However, we found out later that one of the recommended services that they did ended up being quite a simple procedure, and they charged us a hundred bucks for it.

The guy that came over did the work. I had to call them back and then they sent a supervisor over and he was very nice and he looked it over and checked everything out. They made up for whatever my concern was with the first guy. They were a pretty good company to me in terms of price. I would use them again. I told them that if I am going to use the supervisor, that came all the way from Baton Rouge. Every company is going to have their good workers and their bad workers. It is not necessarily a reflection on the entire company. I think my issue was he did not spend enough time up there. I am disabled so I was not able to get up there and see what he did.

I called because our furnace fan on one side was not working. Someone came out that day (even though it wasn't necessary because it was a pretty warm day). The tech found the problem, ordered the part and came back as soon as it was available. Besides the good service, I had another issue. I usually purchase an annual maintenance agreement from TMI and this year, either forgot or didn't get a reminder, so I didn't have the agreement, which allows for a discount on any parts, as well as tune up service twice a year. The Company allowed me to purchase the agreements retroactive and applied the discount on the part needed to fix the furnace. Nice thing to do...
