Total Renovations

The workmanship was fine, with the exception of the demo of the bathroom. Water damage was sustained to the ceiling of my finished basement, because care was not taken to ensure water removal before disconnecting the toilet. 3 stars only because I was promised 20% contractor discount when purchasing cabinets, tub, sink, toilet, fixtures, faucets, and sink. Only rec'd 20% discount on cabinets. First project manager was ineffective. 2nd project manager was the best. I was told this was a 2-week project. It took 5.5 weeks - and this was my only full bathroom.

They were extremely slow. They were slow to even get started and then the whole process was painfully slow! Not only that they had to do everything multiple times to get things right. The experience was really bad. Did not pass the plumbing inspection at one go. I really regret having chosen them.They even damaged certain things in my house in the process but later fixed it. The sales person was very nice and when we spoke to him we got a very different idea but ultimately when the project started it turned out to be something totally different.On the whole I would say they are not well managed.

Great high quality job with very professional service. Highly recommended. Price was not the cheapest but they made sure I was satisfied before the job was completed. Well worth the extra cost over the lowest bidders.

The two men (Robert & Robert) who re-tiled my bathroom came on the day they promised and worked for the next 5 days until the job was done. They did a good job tiling the bathroom. They usually arrived late by between 10 - 45 minutes most days. They usually called when they knew they were going to be late. The cleanup after the job was done was OK - could have been better. Overall, Robert was responsive and kept me up to date as to any new developments.

Good quality work. Just a couple of problems with communication with new project manager.

The representative was nice but took longer than expected and he had to leave the project midway for other scheduled appointments. In addition, there was a lot of sawdust in my garage, as well as issues with the finished product. I don't normally complain but I think it's important to share this information.

Rating for siding & turnaround. I did not have the best experience with a kitchen remodel. However, they completed all requests, in detail & have a very courteous staff. I realize with projects of this nature things will go wrong. What I expect is a plan of action put in place to deliver. That's why you hire Total. Amazingly and with unease, I hired them for a 2nd project-siding. It?s almost complete and looks great! A quality product and great installation. You really can see the difference. True attention to detail. A special thank you to the amazing crew and Mike Bertstein. He took a negative and made it a positive-for everyone!

The schedule was constantly changing because some contractors were not always available. The project manager was mostly unavailable for consultation and questions. The project started late and was completed a few weeks later than originally planned. As far as the quality of the work, I have a few complaints. For instance, faucet holes were not evenly spaced. There were dents on the walls of adjacent rooms. The existing fixtures were scratched. Their fees were also higher than most contractors.

I am distress about their casual attitude toward my property. In the remodeling effort, they severly damaged the corresponding office wall (plaster!), they broke my stormdoor, cause a flood by nailing through a water pipe and broke my fornt door fixture. After each incident, their attitude was "oh, well, we'll fix it" - I am also dissappointed in the time - it is a small thrid floor bath that has taken over three months to do and it is not completed yet!
