Tri Star was supposed to come back and do touch-ups, which were included in the full price. I'd had repair work done, and Tri Star doesn't do grouting. That's fine -- I have a guy for that. Tri Star did the initial glazing, then my guy sealed the grout. Tri Star has no-showed twice with no call, no message. Additionally, he does not respond to messages. I've requested a receipt for the work, the information about the paint (so I can touch up myself) ... no reply.

This company advertises re-glazing vs. replacing, which should save costs but the costs unseen due to poor quality, poor materials, and terrible customer service ends up being more costly than replacing with new. I have a 3 year warranty with Tri-Star Refinishing. I have had them come back 4 different times since the initial service and the bathtub is still not right.

Within a week, the finish began peeling off the only unit we used, the shower/tub combo unit.
We have been working with Tom Koziorynsky, owner and refinisher of Tri-Star Refinishing for more than 6 months now to fix the problem without a permanent resolution to the peeling issue. In the last 6 months, we have documented over 116 phone calls with messages and sent a minimum of 14 written messages via Tri-Star?s website. Only a few of these requests for contact were answered (less than 12). Tom has scheduled 5 repair appointments. On 2 of those appointments Tom scheduled, he was a ?no show? without cancellation or notification of any kind.
On the fourth scheduled repair visit on December 12, 2015, Michael (Tom?s assistant) refinished the peeling, lower portion of the shower/tub combo. When he removed the tape and materials protecting the walls of the shower/tub combo, the tape removed multiple, large sections of paint from the shower walls and the color clearly did not match the previous work. Michael left with the tub/shower incomplete. At this point we had no choice but to begin using the shower stall for the first time since the initial refinishing on June 11, 2015. It took 2 weeks of calls (50+ calls) and contact via their company website before Tom returned our call and scheduled a time when he would come out and finish the repair. Michael, returned on Jan. 5th and fixed the walls. When we asked him to fix the shower stall peeling after 3 weeks of use, he refused.
We have been kind, patient and persistent in pursuing the successful completion of our fiberglass unit?s refinishing. However, it is apparent the refinishing process used does not work and Tri-Star is not committed to successfully resolving the issue. We need to hire another company to remove the remaining Tri-Star finish and properly refinish the units. We would appreciate Angie?s List assistance in obtaining a full refund of $1,325.00 in the original form of payment, cash or certified check.
Again, in working with Tri-Star Refinishing we have invested over 6 months, 116 phone calls, 14 website contacts, we have been stood up for appointments twice and given more than 5 days of our time to get these three units refinished, enough is enough!

They did a TERRIBLE job. Initial spray came out very course and rough. Came out again and refinished - same problem. We finally gave up thinking they didn't know what they were doing. Beware of these guys. Our tub looks aweful and hope this doesn't happen to the next person.
There was a huge mess of dust left all over my house. I live in a ranch and he vented his tube through my kitchen window. There was a film of powdery dust left over everything not only in my kitchen but in my other rooms. I have a 20 month old daughter and her utensils, cups toys etc all had to be tossed. We asked for a partial refund but have not gotten one reply back. When I first called he said there was a huge plume of dust spreading though the house so he closed my bedroom doors and opened my front door. If this was normal or expected, why wasn't I warned so I could've covered things in plastic or stored away? He messed up. Find someone else. I'm contacting the BBB.
They had to come back and do it again, and they were happy to do so. It was okay.

The tub was refinished on the scheduled appointment date with no issues. About a month later the tenant noticed hairline cracks which got worse over time. By Feb 2015, the tub looked worse than it did originally. Tri-Star was called for warranty service in March and left a message. My message was returned and they told me there were no appointment until the end of April. I said I would have to call back to confirm because of the date being so far away. After that, I called Tri Star EVERY DAY to finalize the appointment and did not get a call back. I called every day for 3 weeks and left messages none of which were returned. I finally gave up an hired another company to resurface the tub. The cost was significantly higher because the new company had to strip the old glaze that was put on by Tri Star. Please beware of this company's lack of accountability, and complete disregard for warranty service.
Showed up, seemed to go well. Supposed to be guaranteed and warranty. We did not even use the shower for one month, so plenty of time to "cure".
Now, after only 6 weeks, can't even tell shower floor was refinished. Wearing off and bubbling.
The worst, however, is the fact that we have called several times to address this, and left several messages. To date, no one has even bothered to return our call, much less come back and fix their work.
Recommend against using this provider.

When I bought the house, the bathroom had hideous pink/peach tiles. When I called about getting it refinished it a simple white, she told me if I didn't have the tub done too, I'd regret it because they would be two different colors. So I took her advice and had both done white. The man who came out to perform the service was punctual, professional, friendly - couldn't have gone better.
Fast forward a few months, the bathtub is peeling. It took me 2 weeks to get ahold of someone to send the repairman out. But the service man came out, again, no problems at all, quick to the point, fixed it and left.
Now, another few months later and the same thing... the tub is peeling again. I, again, am trying to get ahold of them to come out and repair. They have an automated answering service but no one returns my calls. I am on day 4 of trying to get ahold of someone to come out and fix the tub again. The job was done April of 2014, it is Feb 2015 and this is my 2nd repair job needed. I live alone so the tub is not getting alot of overusage, no kids doing anything crazy... so I'm not sure I would do it again. It's becoming a pain to deal with and to be honest, I'm not 100% sure I would use this company again. The service men doing the work are great, but to get in contact with anyone is not an easy feat.
Quick service, answered all questions. They arrived on time and did a great job. We had just moved into the house and the tub/shower in the guest bath looked "tired" and had some dings in it. They repaired and refinished it. The price was exactly as quoted. The time of arrival and the time to completion were exactly as stated. Left no mess - very neat. There was a slight "chemical" smell after they left but it quickly dissapated. And, most importantly, the tub/shower/surround look brand new! Would recommend to others.
They did a great job. Left no mess. Finished up in a few hours and I was able to use my bathtub the next day.

They gave me my receipt plus explained that there is a warranty which is transferrable which is nice because I am selling my house. I was very pleased. I was told when I scheduled my appointment that if the tub had been previously refinished that there would be an additional $100.00 charge so it was more than I expected but it was well worth the price. I will be scheduling with them again since I bought a new house!
My bathtub was old and worn down to the metal in several spots, plus it had been painted over the years by various homeowners. The serviceman set up cloths in the doorway and had a large hose sucking the dust and fumes outside, so it left me with hardly any smell or cleanup! It needed extra sanding and filling and he did not rush, did an excellent job, including the caulk around the tub. The tub looked like new and is holding up just fine... LOVE IT!!
Was the last piece of the puzzle in my bathroom remodel. Gentlemen was on time, polite, and clean. He was in and out in just about what he said (2 hours). So far, this looks great and I couldn't be happier. Won't be put into service for a few weeks, so we will see how it holds up. Even if something goes wrong, they have great warranties on the work they do so it's nearly worry free.
