The sales rep, Bryan, went above and beyond to answer all my zillion questions and concerns. He was responsive, knowledgeable and shared his expertise in not only insulation, but all in LED canned lights and dimmers. He was amazing and I would only ask for him again. I plan to refer others to him also in the near future. The installers were good too, letting me climb the ladder and look at the work, cleaning out the old insulation and advising me they found no termites or rodent droppings. I wish they would have vacuumed the bedroom where they brought in a lot of dirt on the carpet, and also used the shop vac in the garage afterwards, as I had to clean up afterwards, which took me an extra hour. However, overall, I was pleased.

Every person that came into our home from Tri-County was very professional and respectful. They covered everything with plastic before removing the insulation and again when blowing it back in. They cleaned up and disposed of the plastic, vacuumed the attic and cleaned up after themselves such that you would never have known they were here. The job of sealing the attic was done so well that the inspector made a comment that he had never seen a job done as well as this and ask who had done the work. He gave them very high praise.

The salesman we had, Bryan Zailer, was very knowledgeable and helpful. He would call back immediately if we had a question and stop by to check on things. I would highly recommend Tri-County to everyone for their insulation needs.

Steve came out numerous times to review the process of spray insulation. He was extremely patient in answering all our questions. We were concerned about the off gassing of the open cell spray and was told the off gassing would only last a few days. We are extremely happy with our choice and there is no odor, that we can tell, from the spray insulation.
They answered the phone when I called for an estimate. They came out within a few days to do the estimate and insulated the following week. The cleaned up every piece of lint that they created! Great company to work with.
Pros: They did a good job minimizing the holes (in exterior stucco) for blown-in insulation in the exterior walls of our house which previously lacked insulation. They also provided documentation (after being requested) of insulation breakdown for utility/tax rebate purposes.

Cons: It was challenging trying to communicate and coordinate between our general contractor and Tri-County for our insulation wishes. To be honest, the issues stemmed from not getting clarification from either party in a prompt manner. Perhaps as a subcontractor they felt uncomfortable speaking with us. However, we are in the habit of trying to keep all parties (us, the general contractor, and another subcontractors or third party contractors) in the loop, and usually that succeeded for us. Somewhat disappointed that didn't happen with our experience with Tri-County.

Issues:

1. We wanted insulation in all new interior walls, but only some got insulated.
2. We wanted rollable fiberglass instead of blow-in insulation in the attic.
3. Informing us as to the actual schedule of insulation installation.

The communication problems are the main reason why we would not recommend Tri-County for insulation work.

I was a little concerned as they were the only company I could find willing to bid, but it went very well. They inspected, bid, negotiated, and then installed quickly and without any problems. They provided all the docs necessary for the pg&e rebate. The final price was about what it would have cost me just to buy the materials at a home improvement store.

It was great, they did an excellent job. They drilled holes in our wall, blew in the insulation, and then fixed the walls. The walls looked wonderful when they were done.

Tri-County Insulation was SOOO GREAT to work with, we couldn't have been happier. I got quotes from 3 companies and not only was Steve the friendliest, he listened to what I wanted, gave me options and educated me. My husband had a number of follow-up questions and Steve patiently answered them all thoroughly for us. We choose to work with Tri-County and we are very happy with did. Jesus and Valentine did the removal on a day that was ridiculously hot and yet they had a great sense of humor and joked around with my husband and showed him their truck (he is an engineer so was curious as to how it all worked). They were careful to ensure our house wouldn't be damaged by their equipment and they were respectful, thorough, polite and grateful to be offered a bathroom to use (apparently clients don't do this and they, like all of us, do need to use a bathroom once in a while) and a cold drink.
A few weeks later my husband bought some insulation (for a couple of walls) directly from Tri-County and again, Steve was gracious and helpful.
Once we have finished up some more work in our attic we will have them back to install insulation.
We would ABSOLUTELY use Tri-County Insulation again.

They came out when they were supposed to and they did what they were supposed to do. They did it efficiently and they were good about the clean up. They are one of the few companies that suck out the insulation. They use a vacuuming thing to do it. There was debris in the attic and they took that out as well. I didn?t price any other companies. They did a good job and got rid of all the crud in the attic. There were pieces of shake roof in there from 20 years ago. They did the work very professionally. I will probably use them to put in insulation.

I got two other estimates but I went with them because they provided the batting rather than alternative options. It went well except it did take a while for them to get the estimate to me.

We discovered the attic had been infested with rats. The insulation was covered in rat feces and several dead rats. There were also loose shingles from the installation of a new roof that had been done a couple years back. Chip came to assess the situation and gave me an estimate on-the-spot. The day before the work was to be done, another company finally sent their estimate (it took them two weeks so I had given up on them) and it was lower than Chip's estimate. I called Chip and he agreed to match the price. Two guys came out the next day. The insulation was sucked up by a hose that connected directly to their truck. They were diligent, careful and thorough. I am completely satisfied with working with Tri-County, from start to finish, and highly recommend them to others.

Job originally consisted of just the living and dining room. Due to a set $950 minimum for the job, the garage ceiling was added to make up the difference. Appointment was set two weeks in advance. Workmen came on time and finished in about five hours. Did a very good job. After the floors were refinished and rooms painted (month and a half later), I found that one of the wall light did not work and called Tri-County to report it and a representative came to check it out and has contracted an electrician to repair the broken wire.
