We were given a service window of 6pm-8pm (for non-emergency work); the dispatcher spent HOURS telling us the plumber would arrive "soon," "shortly," etc. He finally showed up at ELEVEN PM (after we had given up and told the dispatcher to call it a night and we'd just have to reschedule), did 15 minutes of work, and charged an insane amount.

In October 2020 I contracted with Tritan Plumbing to have work done in my home. The following is the statement of work from the Tritan Plumbing invoice I received. Task #AP-1016 Description Connect Icemaker Install New Copper Tee And Install IceMaker Ball ValveShut-Off. Includes up to 15-FT of Soft Copper or Steel Braided Supply Line. I requested the steel braided supply line. I was shocked when I received the bill for this work which was $735.19 minus discounts of $98.52 which equals $636.67. After I received the flat rate invoice from Tritan I requested an itemized invoice and my request was denied. Tritan Plumbing is not transparent with their pricing. I have no idea how they priced Task #AP-1016. While the technician was at my home I observed him closely doing the work and the time spent doing it. At the most it took 60 to 90 minutes of continuous work. The Tritan technician did not have the parts in his vehicle to complete the job and needed to purchase them from a local store. During his visit to our home the Tritan technician spent nonworking time traveling to the store, time in the store, and time coming back to our house from the store. My husband and I thought that the time the technician spent to and from the store was excessive. I contacted a local parts appliance store and requested prices for all the parts listed in the invoice. The store associate informed me that the copper tee costs $5.00, the icemaker ball valve shut-off costs $15.00, and the 15 feet of steel braided supply line cost $20.00. I told the store associate the work the Tritan technician completed and the price I paid and was told that it was “horrendous.” The associate said that the job should have cost between $250.00 and $260.00. I realize that service companies need to charge their customers double or triple the wholesale price for parts and I was willing to pay that amount. A local HVAC and plumbing business told me the job should have cost between $250.00 to $300.00 and take 25 minutes to one hour to complete. I researched the average hourly rate for plumbers in my zip code for the type of work performed. According to [*** Link removed ***] the current average hourly rate for my zip code is $82.04 per hour (plus parts and materials) (Range: $76.86 - $87.21). Tritan Plumbing excessively overcharged us for the work they completed. Tritan also threatens to sue customers who write negative comments or remarks about the company on any website. The following is taken verbatim from the Tritan Plumbing estimate, “If leaving a review on any website I cannot to constitute defamation the Tritan Plumbing name with negative comments or remarks, if I do Tritan Plumbing can sue for libel. The purchaser takes full responsibility for attorney’s fees and court costs should it become necessary to sue for payment of this invoice.” The customer is required to sign this statement for the work to be completed. This is a direct violation of The Consumer Review Act (CRFA). The following is a verbatim statement from the (CRFA), “The Consumer Review Fairness Act makes it illegal for companies to include standardized provisions that threaten or penalize people for posting honest reviews. For example, in an online transaction, it would be illegal for a company to include a provision in its terms and conditions that prohibits or punishes negative reviews by customers.“ Recently I have done additional research which I wanted to present to Tritan Plumbing. I contacted the company on June 16th, 2021 to make an appointment with the owner Mickey Owano to discuss my issues in person and he refused.

"Mamm, I applogize that this is what you are choosing to do going to every platform with accurate reviews, Is unfortunate, I spoke to you last week & we spoke to you about three other opportunities as well, All pricing is to IDPH code of Illinois, You had A LICENSED PLUMBER on site for over 3.5 hours, I must say the price is not just material Mam, you pay for the licensed bonded instured company, That runs extensive bavckground checked on there plumbers & staff to make our ckuetbs safe, We take big priortuy in all the bells & whistles, Also he did not run to a box stroew he went to our supply house, It happens, We do not charge by the hour we charge flat rate & three in depth estimates & invoices are signed prior to work being started, You asked for a % off he granted that for you, I do ask that this stops you have made it clear, How we do not measer up to your edm,ucation knoelwge & how you have extensive education I congratulate I also ask you to please alow all to move on. As the owner I learn from every mistake or upset customer we have I do apologize again If we can learn anything ee surely do. We try hard to communicate everything very clear, Again we are sorry that you feel this way I can assure you we did not charge inaccurate, Again. Mr. Owano & myself, Sarah Owano apologize that you are upset, We do feel we tried to helo in every way, We do not threaten anyone Our invoice states the customer can call Tritan To clarify any & all concerns, It truly states you can not do character deformation & mamm it states we can not as well. Sink is working great. There were some issues with equipment but they got that squared away and kept us informed of arrival times -which were a little later than expected. Happy with the service. Guys were super friendly and professional.

Jonathon explained what needed to be done and explained the cost up-front. He was very professional and very knowledgeable about plumbing. He worked very hard and was able to clear the line. The B rating is due to the cost. The line was hydro-jetted and camera inspected for $913 (~300 for the camera, ~600 for the hydro-jetting). I feel the camera inspection did not show much, because part of the line still had standing water and had globs grease, even after the line was hydro-jetted for an hour. Jonathon explained that line was very badly clogged with years of built up grease and he explained that for additional costs how to fix this problem. Since we tested the line, with a full sink of water, and it empty very fast, I was happy with the results. But I still feel $913 was a lot, since I have see other plumbers offer this service for 1/2 of this price.

Great communication after the appointment was made. They followed up with texts and pics of the plumbers doing the job. Jonathon and Joey arrived exactly on time and knocked it out of the park with their job performance despite a few setbacks. Very happy with the job.

Ended up replacing the whole sump pump. Made a huge difference as far as keeping up with the water. Both technicians were very courteous and explained everything. Cost was very expensive.

Went great, very professional and excellent workmanship. While getting read to leave Nick noticed that the pipe on the furnace outlet was not correctly connected which was a dangerous health hazard. Nick then went to the store to buy another pipe and replaced the damaged pipe without charging us.

They never found the leak. Charged me for replacing wax ring for toilet, which didn't solved problem. Was told would call back. Missed call and in voice mail left by them said would call back the next day. I never received another call.

The young man arrived on time looked at the shower said it needed a Faucet replacement valve, had to check if he had the part in his van which he had, he proceeded to switch of the water at the main and ran the bathroom water tap till water stopped took about 10 minutes proceeded to replace the valve with the new valve, replaced the sleeve, the seal, the plate and pull on/off handle all of which we supplied, took 15 minuets he was in our house for a total of 52 minuets including his trip to is van, he presented us with a bill of $571.00 which we payed, I was not going to argue with the young man but I did contact Tritan Plumbing was told that was what they charge, we checked the part cost on Moen web-site was $17.91 retail so minus the part charge that works out at a cost $10.64 per minuet a total rip of, we will never use this company again, would not recommend to anyone, I'm very disappointed that Angie's List would have this company listed these guys should wear mask when come into your house they robbed us in broad daylight, we certainly feel like that.

Ben was great. Arrived right on time, reviewed what I wanted done, checked the toilet then gathered his materials. He was in and out in 20 minutes. He even made some adjustments for efficiency. Payment and paperwork was electronic so that went fast. I would definitely have him back. Very professional, friendly and efficient.

Job went well. I scheduled the work in the morning, and they were able to give me a 12pm-4pm window the same day. When Jon arrived, he let me know right away that what I thought was a sump pump was the ejector pump. He explained what he was replacing, how much it would cost, and how long he'd be there. He did have to leave to get the correct pump from one of his co- workers, but he let me know he would be back asap. Jon did a great job, and he was friendly. I recommend Tritan mainly because of their responsiveness and professionalism.

It went great! Paul D is the reason I chose to use this company for my mom's water heater replacement. He fixed my girlfriends water heater install and I was very impressed with his knowledge, skill, professionalism, customer orientation and friendly demeanor. He did a great job for both my girlfriend and my mom. He was also able to answer some non-plumbing related home repair questions and was able to recommend an auto mechanic when I asked him. Paul is an all around great guy professionally and personally and Tritan plumbing is lucky to have him.
