Trolls Stumps & Tree Service

Contacted on a Friday for an estimate, the next day, saturday, they were out and cut to tree down. Put off grinding the sump til that monday due to rain and wet soil. Was quoted $400.00 up front. By the time all was said and done, sam told me that he would honor the $400 quote, even though should have been more due to longer then expected time there. Contracted already for more work in the coming weeks. Sam and his crew do good work, and make short work of thing.

Based on Angie's List reviews, I contacted Sam late in the afternoon. Sam immediately came over, looked at the work needed to be done, and gave an estimate that I thought was very reasonable. Because we had recent rain and the ground was wet, Sam told me it might take two or three weeks before he would be able to do the stump grinding. With the estimate I was given, I told him that I would like for his company to do the job. Sam wondered if there were any utility lines that he needed to be aware of when grinding the stumps. I told him I didn't believe there were any under the trees. A day or so later, I decided to make sure there weren't any utilities that might cause a problem and contacted Miss Utility. Over the next few days, contractors marked the lines in the area of the trees. After about three weeks had passed since given the estimate, I called and left a voicemail with Sam. I let him know that the utility lines had been marked. That afternoon, Sam and his crew showed up at the house and cut down the two tree trunks. Because of the thickness of the trunks, it was observed that Sam had to work hard at cutting them down, replacing one or two chains on his saw. While somebody was home when the work was in progress, that person had to leave before the job was finished. Before departing, Sam was given a check for the estimated amount. When I arrived home in the evening, I discovered that the two tree trunks had been cut and their stumps ground up. But the third, smaller stump in the backyard was still there. I called Sam the next day and let him know we were pleased with the work that had been done on the two trees but there was another stump that was overlooked. Sam indicated that his ticket had mentioned three stumps but his crew members said they only saw two. I told him there wasn't a rush; we just wanted the third stump ground up at some point. Because the ticket had already been turned in as a completed job, Sam asked me to remind him again if he didn't get to the job soon. Within a few days, Sam and two of his crew members came back and ground up the stump. We are very pleased with the actual work that was done. The overlooked stump was more of a hassle for the company - which had to bring its equipment out a second time - but not much of an issue for us. I cannot give the company a perfect grade in part because after all the work was completed, I received two phone calls over the next month asking if we were still waiting on the company to do a job. These phone calls were based on my previous voicemails or caller id. So, there could be a little improvement in tracking which jobs have been completed and which ones haven't.

It went well except for elements out of our hands which included, waiting for miss utility, then miss utility not informing us that there were no utilities to mark, rain, more rain, then Sam's(gentleman from Trolls Tree Service) equipment breaking down and parts taking a while to ship. But once all the stars where aligned, Sam was in and out within an hour. And the price was extremely fair and reasonable as well :-).

Did a great job and amazing work ethic. They were careful not to damage the lawn too much considering the amount of rain we had the day before they arrived onsite.

Sammy will work his butt off to do the job the way you want it and better. He was on time and very friendly! I would recommend to anyone!

Sam was very responsive and came within hours of my first call to him and provided a estimate and said he would be back the next day and take care of the tree. He showed up on time and got the job done.

Troll Services arrived on time 3 April 17 and began the process of cutting down 3 trees on my property. All were posing a hazard to my house/pool.

This gentleman came out after the ice storm we had on March 14th and assessed the problem I had with a big branch from a Bradford Pear tree that had fallen on my roof he gave me a very reasonable price to remove it and told me he would be back the next day a 9 to remove it. He was here right a 9 and removed the branch and cleaned all the trimmings that fall on the ground. I would highly recommend this company for all tree removal that anyone in the area that may need any tree removal.

The work was done very efficiently and the chipped wood was raked and taken away. There were no surprises, just great job.

Excellent! Sam was very professional. He called ahead and got Ms. Utility to come out. So glad he did otherwise the outcome could of been bad. He also offered to do a follow up if I need it.

During heavy rains/storms of the past few days, we found a very tall oak that had fallen to about 45 degrees and hung up in some other trees.  This was in a wooded area of our property but the size and proximity to the neighbor's driveway made us feel as though it should be taken down.  <br /> <br /> Because Troll had done such a great job taking out a stump last month, we called Sam this morning and he was at our house within an hour or so.  He decided to have John come out and they were both at the house in the afternoon.  Very fast.  John did an amazing job taking the tree down - even leaving long sufficiently sections for me because I had told him I wanted to split them myself for a fence. <br /> <br /> Excellent work, very knowledgable, friendly.

They gave me a timely estimate and completed the job the very next day. Their prices are very reasonable! First class service.

We had a small tree taken down in January and was just going to level it with my chainsaw to the ground, cover it with dirt and seed it.  Troll Services happened to have an ad in the local paper, so we thought we would give them a call for a free estimate.  I looked up some of the reviews from Angie's and everyone seemed happy with their service.   <br /> I call Sam and the call went to voicemail.  By the end of the day, Sam called me back and left me a message.  I called him the next morning and he came out within a couple of hours to give me a estimate.  For the size of the tree, he felt like it would be between $60-90.  He asked about the chips and I said I would remove those myself.  I told him to do it and he had to get some things finished on his trailer and would come back. <br /> That evening, after dinner, I looked out the front window to see Sam off loading his grinder.  It was close to 7pm, so within the same day, we got the estimate and he started the work. <br /> He started grinding the stump and surrounding roots.  Within an hour, he had a nice hump of dirt and fine chips with large chips separated as good mulch and trash mulch.  Sam showed me a couple of things to do on maintaining the hump as it subsides and levels out. <br /> Since I told him I would get rid of the chips, he just charged us $60. <br /> We are extremely happy with the service, promptness and quality of work from Troll Services and would easily use them again for other projects. <br />

Troy Services was one of the finest companies that I have ever worked with.  They were honest, hard working and friendly people.  Their work was superb.
