Tropical Paver Sealing

Positive reviews often highlight the best parts of a business, but they don’t tell the full story. The real test of a company is how they respond when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, when things went wrong with Tropical Paver Sealing, they didn’t rise to the occasion. I hired Tropical Paver Sealing, for a paver sealing job that included pressure washing my pool deck. During the service, the technician, Bowen, got distracted and ended up stripping the paint from the base of my pool enclosure, leaving it exposed to rust. Amanda, the owner, came out to inspect the damage, took videos, and promised to get back to me that afternoon with a solution. That follow-up never happened, despite me reaching out several times. To add to the frustration, I later found that my pool deck drains were filled with silicon sand used during the sealing process. The drains hadn’t been covered, so the sand just clogged them up. Once again, I reached out to Amanda, but my concerns were ignored. It's easy to get great reviews when everything goes smoothly, but when things go wrong, that’s when a business shows its true colors. Unfortunately, Tropical Paver Sealing didn’t handle the situation well at all, and Amanda was completely unresponsive. Based on this experience, I can’t recommend them. What could’ve been a simple fix turned into silence and neglect.

My courtyard looks beautiful, like new, as it did when I first moved in years ago.! My tech, Jacob did an amazing job removing the mold and mildew. I'm so happy. He was polite and pleasant but more importantly he took his job seriously. He was diligent, hardworking and thorough. The company was prompt with service and competitive in price with others. They followed up with a phone call immediately after the job was complete, I am truly a satisfied customer and highly recommend Tropical Paver Sealing. Been using them since 2014. Always do a good job although Amanda is amazing and a perfectionist!

They cam early and did so much prep work. The power washers had come the day before to clean the areas. They filled in with a lot of sand since we hadn't had it done in 4 years. It come out beautiful. Amanda, the owner and another gentleman did all the work.

This is the second time we've used Tropical Paver Sealing and both times they did a great job! Dominic did a very thorough job and was very nice and knowledgable. Pavers look like new!

Our paver sealing project was going to be a challenge for Tropical Paver Sealing right from the start. Our patio is at the back of our condominium at the end of our living room. The only entrance and exit point was through our front door, off the common area of the carpeted corridor to our first floor unit. This is opposed to driving up to a house, bringing power-washing equipment up someone’s driveway or through a gate to their backyard or pool area. Our crew, J.C. and Brian were brilliant, efficient, courteous and respectful of our property. I had laid down some vinyl sheeting so their equipment and tools could be rolled in over the tiled floors and carpet to the sliding glass doors. They worked as a team and it was all the more impressive as it wasn’t just our patio that was going to be cleaned and sealed, but our neighbor’s patios as well, one on either side of ours. The entire project took from 9:30 a.m. until a little after 6:00 p.m. to do 3 separate patios and clean up took less than 10 minutes. Tropical Paver Sealing offered the best price, their well-deserved reputation and a great result! Save yourself the time and trouble of getting 3 or 4 quotes. There is only one game in town and that’s Tropical Paver Sealing! Thank you Amanda, J.C. and Brian!

First crew did a horrible job. Stained our house, stripped paint off cabinets on Lanai. Looks worse then before they started. Owner came to "fix" and claimed to have fired guy who did job first time. Tons of excuses as to why it was so bad. No responsible assumed. After have the job was completed, owner called to say they were walking away from the job. They couldn't do it. Refunded deposit but left pavers and condition of exterior paint job in need of repairs. So we are out having to fix their mistakes. Not good communicator as she is the owner. Would never recommend this company. Lots of excuses but not a lot of professionalism or quality at Tropical Pavers.

The initial job went well. I thought they did a good job. I think I rated them an A. They are now getting an F because it does not seem like the care about keeping their customers. I had contacted them initially about what maintenance should be performed and I got no response. I should have realized something then. About a year and half after the work, 2 of the 3 homes had significant mildew on the pavers. The company was contacted as asked about this. My neighbor spoke to Amanda and someone was sent out to assess the situation. Supposedly, Amanda stated that she would provide a free pressure wash. The technician advised that the lanai needed better drainage and also there was too much sealant used as there were some whitish spots on both of our lanais. I contact Amanda via email, discuss what could be done. I realize that if there is a drainage issue on our lanais it is something that needs to be addressed. I had requested her to send someone out to inspect and see if they recommended something for the drainage as the technician that was sent said he could set up the drainage as a side job which was concerning so I am not sure that I believe it is a drainage issue. I also know that it is was getting close to the time to have pavers re-sealed. Amanda has yet to return my neighbors phone calls or to respond to my emails. In the last email, she said they would come out to pressure wash the lanai and it inspect but she was having trouble getting it scheduled. The last response I got was May 8th. Very disappointed in this company for not coming out to inspect and offer some suggestions for our situation. I was willing to use the company again and pay for another sealant if they could help us figure out why our lanai did not last long even with their proprietary formula. It's a shame businesses don't seem to care about repeat customers.

Unethical and pitiful - don't hire them, this company is a disaster. Their salesperson came to the house and measured. She then emailed me a quote. It had the wrong name so I brought this to her attention and she provided a new quote. After a few detailed questions over several days, I hired them to come on a specific day of the following week as we were having a large graduation party at the house that weekend. I provided a deposit and secured the morning of that next Tuesday. The afternoon before the work, a person called and said they were having issues and asked if they could do it in the afternoon to which I agreed, but was assured there would be no other delays. That afternoon I called the company around 3 as nobody showed. I was home all day waiting for them as they stated they would come earlier if they got done sooner. I received a call from a person who said she ran the company. She stated that a person did come that morning, but the square footage was wrong so he left. No call, no contact, no nothing - I had to call them. She said they won't do the work because the salesperson misquoted it. I described my situation as having a quote, exchanging money, and 2 days from a major party. She said she would have to eat the difference and get it done and that she would make it right. A few minutes later I received a call from someone that stated they were an independent contractor originally hired to do it and that the owner won't do the work. I asked to speak with the owner. A few minutes later I had a voice mail from the owner who said they won't do the work. I called her 3 more times but never received a call back. Even though I have a legal claim, it's not worth it, they are just a very bad company. Also, during the conversation with the contractor, he stated that the owner just fired the office staff and she was working out of Sarasota. This is just a bad company --- don't use them under any conditions. FYI- they evidently don't use employees to work, they farm the work to contractors.

Great! They did an excellent job. They cleaned, resanded and sealed my patio pavers and they look even better than new. Amanda and her team are very nice and professional to work with from beginning to end. I definitely would recommend this company.

The driveway came out good but not around the pool. The next day large white clumps formed on the coping around the pool. It looked like clumps of wax. The clumps did not come off with normal scrubing. The owner came and scrubbed the clumps off. She then sent the men who applied the solution to powerwash the clumps off. Between the scrubbing and the powerwash the grouting between the coping and tile came out in numerous of spots. The owner came to see it and told my son to hire someone to fix it and she will reimburse me. I did find a paver company and their recommendation was to remove all the old grout and regrout. My pool is not that big and I had the work done. It cost $800.00 to do the repair. When I sent the bill to Tropical Paver I did not receive a response. I left numerous voice messages and never returned my call. Finally I received an e-mail and the owner stated she only planned to spend $200. I have tried to talk to the owner but to no avail. No one answers my phone calls. I would prefer to have this resolved and not entered on the website. I do not want to ruin a company's reputations but something went wrong with the application and they should stand behind their work. I also had to pay for my Pool Service Company to check the pool for the damages and I did not request reimbursement for that charge. Please call me to discuss further. Thank you

On May 4, a representative from Tropical Paver Sealing came to our house at 3:45pm to do an estimate.  On May 5, 2016, we agreed to contract with Tropical Paver Sealing for $777 and sent them a deposit  of $233 as our commitment.  Start day was scheduled for 05/09/2016 at 10:00am at which time they would sand the spaces between the pavers, blow off the excess then seal the pavers. <br> <br>On the day of the service we received a call from the technician that he was running late and did not arrive till approximately 12:00 noon.  He was very professional and apologized for  being late.  I asked if he would be able to do everything we needed that day and he assured me yes he will.  We do no believe in micromanaging so we left him alone.  When he was done, we could not walk on the pavers for 24 hours but from our windows what we saw it looked beautiful.  <br> <br>After a few days we did notice that the sanding was not 100% but was not going to make a big deal of it.  However, over Memorial weekend we noticed several places on the copping of our pool was showing a white residual, which meant it was not sealed.  I call on Tuesday, May 31, and spoke with Amanda, who was very polite and accommodating.  She asked me to text her pictures of what we were experiencing, which I did and she confirmed receipt.  A tentative appointment to have a technician come by either  Wednesday or Thursday, June 1 or 2.  On June 3, I emailed tropicalpaversealing@gmail.com asking for a status since no one showed up.  Amanda responded that maybe she can get a technician to come by Saturday, June 4, but Monday, June 6, would be better. <br> <br>To date no technician has shown up nor has the company bothered to contact us with valid plans to address this.  This company was quick to take the job and my money but they appear not to be willing to address the customer's concerns afterwards.  I understand not all jobs are done 100% the first time around and judge a company that is willing to back the quality of their work and name. <br> <br>I would love to give an A or B review but right now I am considering writing in the NextDoor website to avoid this company. <br> <br>Thank you <br>

I called for an estimate and someone was able to come out same day and I scheduled a service for less than a week after that. Everyone was so responsive and professional and they were great to work with. All my questions were answered and I felt very confident in hiring this company to do a great job on my patio. They guys showed up at 9am and were finished by 2. My patio was covered in thick mildew and old polymeric sand. They were able to clean everything off and my pavers look amazing and after the sealing, the pavers are bright and vibrant. I am very satisfied with the results! I would recommend this company to anyone looking for great service and a perfect patio.

<p>I called on the weekend and left a message just hoping to get going on the project the next week. They called me on Sunday and had an opening on Monday, so we set it up. They arrived right on time, removed everything from the porch and thoroughly cleaned the surface. They put multiple coats of sealer on the pavers and told me they needed to dry overnight. The next day they returned and put everything back on the porch.</p> <p>They really went above and beyond, even agreeing to honor a quote they gave me in the Summer of 2014. Plus, they pressure washed the stepping stones around my pool!</p> <br />
