I worked for devin at true blue plumbing for about 3 weeks. I heard nothing but bad things about the company but needed a job so was going to see what happend. The only other 2 plumbers he had working there were new to plumbing in general and one of them spoke very little english. The owner talked about how all his previous employees kept quitting. After about the second week I could see why. He always said you need anything call me anytime. Since I was new to service work of course I had questions about pricing, service titan ect. He rarely answered or called me back. Not the best feeling standing in someone's house not really knowing what to charge for services or different options ect. The second week he hired someone new and had them ride with me instead of with him. That guy lasted a week after talking negatively about the company in the office of all places. The week after that he hired someone else. Again the person was told to ride with me. I didn't mind by anymeans, but I was green to the whole service world. Kind of unprofessional to have new guys riding with someone not familiar with the ropes but wasn't going to complain. Throughout the 3 weeks I worked there he was rarely at the office in the morning. He kept telling me to do a job or 2 then meet him at the shop. Clean trucks or move material around the shop then go back to service calls and get off work at 7 or 8 pm. While I have kids and appreciate my time with them he could have had the people that were doing small repair jobs do the cleaning ect. The guy was really unorganized kinda all over the place. On top of that my first check for returned because of insufficient funds in the company's account. This happend 3 times for the SAME CHECK! I decided I had enough and just quit the following Monday. Once he finally wandered back into the office I think it was Wednesday he found out I had quit. His reaction to me quitting was far from professional.

Short Version: I encourage you to do a little more research and think twice before choosing True Blue. One suggestion is to use someone like Anthony Plumbing who will cost more but at least you can take comfort in knowing it's done right, by highly qualified installers, and they provide 24/7 support. Most importantly, you'll know their owner won't say, "tell her it's not that cold out tonight so they'll be fine." What it meant we were without heat or hot water for 18 hours because ATMOS energy said the gas leak from their installation was so bad they had to shut off gas to the house. Long Version: While doing your due diligence researching companies before making a costly decision, you'll do like I did and read as many reviews as you can. Unfortunately, you'll find examples of unhappy customers everywhere and consider True Blue's overall rating high enough so you'll think it will be fine. You likely save a little money with them but you could also end up in the situation we're now in after a new tankless hot water heater installation. After the installation, the True Blue plumber told my wife there might be a little condensation but nothing significant. However, as soon as the first person took a shower, there was a significant flow of water which was pooling back into our wall. The installer installed the drain pipe as a single PVC pipe straight down next to the wall instead of taking it to the floor drain. Of course, the result was water backing up into the framing of the wall. At that point, we asked for someone more qualified to come out and take a look at his work, and take the drain tube to the floor drain. At that point it obviously wasn't a big deal and we thought we had peace of mind because they sent out their master plumber to inspect the work. However, 9 days later we now have strong smell in our basement, and Atmos quickly found what they called, "a significant gas leak" from where True Blue rerouted our gas line. Unfortunately, the leak was too significant and they had to shut it off for the entire house. All of this is exacerbated by the fact it's a Saturday and True Blue doesn't provide 24/7 support. Because this is such a significant issue, the owner is called and I've already provided his response. Bottom line, no one's perfect, mistakes happen, and stuff breaks but for me it's always about how someone responds in those situation which defines who they are as a company.

This started with a persistently dripping bathroom faucet. The faucet was probably original to my mid-1960s ranch house. As long as I was calling a plumber in, I also wanted a dripping toilet (it was leaking around the handle used when flushing) repaired. I was pleased that a plumber was available the same day I contacted True Blue even though these repairs were certainly not an emergency. Anthony R., the plumber, came as scheduled late that afternoon. He was very competent and professional. He replaced the bathroom faucet with a modern new faucet because it really did need to be replaced. (My original faucet was so old that the metal at the base seemed to be peeling/twisted up--it was one of those faucets with the handles looked like plastic jewel knobs.) I examined the new faucet prior to it being installed and can verify its quality and heaviness. The new faucet has an arched neck where the water comes out and gives some height between the water coming out and the bathroom sink that wasn't there before. When turning off the water to the house, Anthony recommended replacing that on/off valve as well as a piece above that which regulates water pressure to the house. I'm sure both of these were also original to the house. The on/off valve was really corroded and I turned it gingerly when I had to turn the water off/on. As far as the water pressure goes, the Kansas City Water Department has been doing a lot of work in my neighborhood and will probably continue to do so and may at some point in time actually work on my street. To defend my house against the water pressure changes this can cause, I thought this change was also needed. I'm not sure I quite understand how it works, but apparently the water pressure had something to do with the toilet leaking. Be that as it may, I haven't had any problems with the toilet since the changes were made although the toilet was also worked on. These repairs were quickly done and did not involve a lot of time. I think this was a good value even though what was basically a leaky faucet expanded to replacing a water pressure device and the house on/off valve and cost about $1200. (I lived in another house where the house on/off valve had a box dropped on it which broke it, causing a major flood as water poured out. That's destructive so that's why I appreciate Anthony being proactive and making the recommendations he did as well as being able to complete it during this visit.)

We were in the process of selling & during the inspection the buyer found a issue with the sewer. On a Sunday at 7:30 we sent a request on Angie's list for a plumber to return my call. True Blue answered me in less than an hour and we got scheduled within a day. I met with Anthony and he was able to diagnose the problem and get me a quote. We had other quotes and not one of them offered to clean up after the repairs. Anthony was absolutely the best to work with. We decided to get a partial sewer replacement and a waterline fixed. He was great at communicating everything to us and even sent numerous pictures of the progress. They did such a great job of cleaning up and even worked on the weekends to get the job done!! Would recommend to anyone that wants the job done quickly but also professionally!!

We had just purchased an old home & it needed some plumbing work. we had Anthony R & Adam come out to look things over & give an estimate. They were great! It ended up being a bigger project than I was aware of in the beginning but they were very patient with me & have become like family to us. They did great work & cleaned up after themselves. We had a late afternoon appointment and Anthony stayed until the job was complete, around 8:00. Service was reformed at a price we felt was competative. He ended up replacing our faucet, supply lines and valves. This was the only company to call back after putting a request for quote on Angies List. Overall great experience nad feel good if you choose Anthony and everyone at True Blue.

Returned home on a weekend from an extended absence only to find a broken water pipe. Choose True Blue due to their high rating. I absolutely made the right choice. They responded to my weekend emergency request within two hours, completed the work within one hour. Replaced the broken pipe and two shutoff valves. Very professional, very courteous, very clean.

They did not do a good job. The plumber they sent out seemed like he was in a big rush, snaked 100 feet and left. My house nearly flooded after they left. We had to get another plumber to come out and they snaked the drain as well and at about 50 feet, this other plumber found that the cause of the backup was from tampons and cleared the drain for us. There is no way the plumber from True Blue should've missed the cause of the blockage. It seems like he may have missed it because he was in such a hurry.
