TruGreen really has been a consistent disappointment. They have burned large spots in our lawn three times, the most recently this last summer. When notified, they didn't offer to come and re-seed or fix the problem, they only offered to come and give another fertilizer treatment which was poorly administered and burned the lawn in the first place. We had to pay for and reseed the holes in our lawn. I have written them four times regarding the problem. I get no response whatsoever from the company except for threatening letters and today I received notification that I've been sent to collections for the $59 for the last treatment. We will NEVER use this service again. It not only happened to us here in Boston, but also when we were living in Columbus, Ohio. Steer clear folks! Brad Welling Belmont, MA

We have used Scotts LawnService from Warwick Rhode Island. Their demeanor and their work ethics like communication seemed fine. They did a good job. They were just a little pricy because we are elderly. The quality was fine I guess. We would grade them 'B' down the line. We will use them again in the future if we get a fortune.

I've used them for ten years. They are very friendly. They are good. They let you know twenty-four hours in advance about services. They usually do six or seven treatments.

We have a contract with them. They are reliable, they were competitive with their price and we have used them in the past so we didn't hesitate to go with them. It has been a positive experience.

Tru Green was completely unresponsive to a new customer. They have poor customer service and do not seem interested in retaining new customers. We cancelled after a single fertilization because we simply could not get anyone to return our call to get information on when other services we ordered would be completed.
My experience was horrible. I used them for the 2012 season and cancelled them in December 2012. I called them twice to confirm cancellation but still got a call fro a technician that he was coming out. Called again to confirm cancellation. Have continued to get calls from them about service, grub control etc. even tho I repeatedly asked to be taken off their call list. When I had a contract, they did not call before they came out, provided two services I had not requested, would not return phones or resolve problems even after repeated calls by me, my lawn people and contact by Angie's list. I will never use them again. They clearly are more concerned with sales than service.
They made the lawn look green and healthy. They showed up when they said they would. They were very consistent.

Beware of Trugreen. They are also listed on Angie's as TruGreen-Warwick with the same address.nd My lawn is currently full of weeds, I have a bill for services that have not been provided, and in spite of repeated requests for over a week I have been unable to reach a supervisor or manager to discuss my concerns. They simply do not return calls. The technician does not do a through job. The first time two times he was out this spring to treat for weeds he missed a strip of yard at the side of the house. He did return to treat that strip and supposedly also treated for nutsedge on 6/1/12 noting that the weeds could curl and die within 10-14 days which they did not. He returned on 7/16/12 and said he was going to fertilize the yard. When I looked at the invoice he had fill out prior to starting it said he was also going to treat for preemergent weed control, postemergent broadleaf control, and post emergent grassy weed control. I asked him about that and he said it was too hot to treat, which was true as it was in mid 90's that day. Said he would return on Friday 6/20/12 and did not. Called him on Monday 6/23/12 and said he would come on Wednesday 6/25/12. He did not. Called the company multiple times beginning on 6/25/12 expressing my concerns about lack of service and being billed for service that had not been provided. Ask each time to speak to supervisor or manager and was always told they were out of office and would be sent a note to call me. To date have not received a call. On Friday 6/27/12 was told that the service had been scheduled for that day. It was not performed. And I still can not reach and have not heard from a supervisor or manager. My front yard was torn up and planted with new seed last fall. The back had been reseeded the previous fall. I have pictures of both the front and back taken in November before the lawn was treated as well as pictures taken recently. My yard is currently full of weeds and is being overtaken by nutsedge and crabgrass as well as having broadleaf and other weeds. It looks like the yard was never treated and looks far worse than it did in the fall. If I could get a Trugreen supervisor to come look at the yard, I believe they would agree that the condition of my yard is not acceptable. The company that seeded the lawn and mows it recommended Trugreen and they are appalled at the condition of yard and are also attempting to reach the company. Although I am unable to reach anyone to discuss my problems with the service I am supposed to be receiving, Trugreen did send out someone to check out the shrubs in the yard and to generate a treatment plan for shrubs without my authorization as well as calling repeatedly to try to enroll me in Terminex services. Trugreen appears to be more interested in generating new business than in serving their current customers. Trugreen is not professional, responsive or punctual and work is clearly of poor quality.

Had True Green for a few years. First year or so they were great. Did what they said they would do. Turned the lawn around. However had issues with their guarantees. That was the whole reason why I went with them. When I ran into an issue last summer with their grub warranty I received lip service. No one showed up to re mediate even though the regular guy from True green and I had called several times with no response. This year started up. I called and canceled. Apparently they took notice. Some guy said he was going to stop by and take a look. Never did, but did send someone with grass seed. Then they continued on as if I had not stopped. I called when they said that they were coming to do some more work and said I had canceled. That did not stop them. They showed up anyway and did the work. After complaining they did not charge me which was good. A week or two later a guy spoke with me. He seemed very sincere to keep my business, but it was a bit too late. Why didn't True Green take action last fall when I called up a half dozen times? Good things - Their product is pretty good, but they ignored the soil testing results that I had. Bad Things - When there are issues they are not exactly smooth at straightening them out quickly. Pricing differs from town to town.
