They were very good at scheduling/getting me in quickly. I described symptoms of a suspected transmission problem, and it was found to be overfilled with fluid. The conclusion was that I needed a new transmission at a cast of $2-3K. I sought out a second opinion & the issues was found to be the transmission filter had fallen into the pan, and just a new gasket was needed. That repair (done elsewhere) cost less than $300.

They did a great job and stayed within the timeframe and budget. Because the head gasket needed to be replaced -- a common affliction for Subarus of a certain age -- the job took a couple of extra days as the head had to be sent out to a machine shop for the work. When the job was finished, the new serpentine belt was squeaking after just a day. They were quick to replace the belt tensioner at no cost and I drove away a happy customer. I don't think it was any cheaper or faster than other independent garages, but they were honest and super nice. Plus they are very close to downtown Olympia and the Capitol Campus, which made it super convenient for me. <br />

There's not much to comment on for the last service I had (oil change: CHECK, wiper blades: CHECK, new headlight: CHECK), but I can give you all some insight into my past experiences with them... <br /> <br /> Trusted Choice makes taking my car into the shop so much less painful. I enjoy figuring out the issues with my old, crotchety car and being able to find an affordable solution to them -- and with full confidence that the job is done correctly. When a part is replaced (like my timing belt recently was) someone will show you the difference between the new part and the old part and explain what changes you should notice and be aware of. They're always honest about when work needs to be performed -- if you can wait a while, they'll say so (which makes it so much easier to tell when changes are REALLY important).
