United Sewer and Drain services called me right away after setting up my profile. They were extremely polite, professional, and answered all my questions. I also received an appointment the next day. Stan came to clean out our septic tank, he was wonderful. He was professional, knowledgeable, and didn't give up on finding our lid to the tank.He also came early! I definitely recommend them for your septic needs. The whole process was smooth and easy. Most importantly my septic is working wonderful now. Thank you for an excellent job.

TOTAL RIPOFF! Jeff came with a helper.
My sewer line goes through my yard, and the yards of my 2 neighbors next
to me. Jeff's helper put his line down my cleanout, and his TV camera
line, and I saw roots. Only using water, without a claw at the end of the
water line, he loosened up a bunch of roots. He never put the line in the
cleanouts further down, in the neighbor's yard, and it was clear from the TV
picture that the line had not gone all the way or reached the sewer line in the
street. I saw roots being loosened, Jeff was there for about 3 hours - I
realized later that it took so long because he didn't use a claw at the end of
the line, he was only loosening the roots by spraying them with the water.
He charged $475 plus tax. He said he would come back next year and spend
all day and really get at those roots, and it would cost about $1000. ONE
MONTH LATER, my sewer was backing up. I called and talked to Jeff and
told him what was going on. He became hostile and said I sounded like I
wanted him to come fix it for free, and it was a month later. He said he would
come and fix it for another $325. He outright lied and said he had
extended his line 200 feet, all the way to the end - he had not! It was
clear while we were all looking at the TV camera that he had not gotten to the
end of the line. I hung up and called my plumber, who recommended a
person he works with. Wilfredo came, looked at it, went to the cleanout
in the other yard, where all the loose roots from Jeff's work had gathered
because they had not been flushed out into the main sewer. Wilfredo
flushed them out, in about 5 minutes. Then he ran the line, with a big
CLAW attached, not just with water, like Jeff had done, and got rid of all the
rest of the roots that Jeff had not gotten rid of in the rest of the line. That
took him all of a half an hour. He was disgusted by what Jeff, working
for United, had charged, and couldn't believe that Jeff said it would take all
day next year for $1000. By the way, while Jeff was "working"
on my sewer, he got a call from Rite Aid. He fixes all their bathrooms.
He was boasting about how he much he overcharges tham. He not only
outrageously overcharged me, he also did totally lousy, incomplete work, and
then refused to take responsibilty to fix it. Disgusting.
"Funny how he only mentions having a root problem. He failed to mention that his sewer line is broken in multiple places with areas that are under water due to the pipe settling. When he called me back he said " my sewer line is backing up again because the roots you cut out went further down the line and clogged it again". Really? How do you know that? It's not a possibility that the line is backing up because it's broken in multiple places with multiple bellies? It's not like a few days went by and he had a problem, we're talking a month here. Our hydro jetter has 300' of hose. We DID send it out 200'. Our jetter removes tree roots very well. We used our camera and jetter at the same time so we could watch for ourselves the roots get removed. It would take all day to remove the roots he has in his line. $475 for 3 hours with a jetter and camera is a good price. We unclogged his line and spent 3 hours removing as much root as we could. The contractor who came after us opened his line in 5 minutes. All he did is open a clog and release the water, he didn't clean anything in 5 minutes. [Member name removed] told me his sewer line has always been a problem. Well guess what [Member name removed]? It's only gonna get worse! Why didn't you use the drain guy you used before me again? I guess he got sick and tired of coming back to unclog your line because of the "roots he cut out" previously. Unfortunately this is just an example of a homeowner trying to take advantage of an HONEST contractor. Why don't you get your sewer line replaced and stop trying to rip people off!!!"

"Our camera did not make it all the way to his septic tank due to all the 90 degree turns in his sewer line. We dug where we thought it could be. We spent hours trying to locate his tank. We suggested trying to flush a transmitter down the pipe to locate the tank. He agreed. We had to order more transmitters because we had used our last one. When we received our order of transmitters we called the homeowner to reschedule. We got his voice mail and left a message. We never received a call back so we assumed he went with another company. If you would like to get a more accurate example of the type of work we do, there are other sites online that have upwards of 100 reviews on our company."

They gave me an estimate of from $8,000 to $13,000. They were professional and fast, and they did an excellent job of replacing our badly clogged sewer line. They explained that they could either replace the existing line (which ran under the front of the house and would have involved removing the front porch) or put a new line through the side yard (which would involve drilling through the basement wall). We decided on the second option. The only problem I had was that, instead of a lawn, we had a 15-year-old perennial garden planted along that side of the house. This was an unusual dilemma, and the reason this job cost more than the average sewer line replacement probably had a lot to do with the fact that there were so many plants in the way. The crew took out several bushes, set them aside, and promised that after they were done, they would replace them and try their best to put the garden back together. But I think that when they got down to it, it was just too complicated and time-consuming. They told me that a lot of the plants just had to be taken out with their backhoe and couldn't be saved. There had been a rock garden and a brick walkway, and they didn't remember later where the bricks had come from, so they ended up hastily replanting four large bushes, and that was it. They had rolled over my neighbor's grass with the backhoe, and they just kind of left that. I felt that, given how much I was paying them, they probably should have consulted a landscaper or asked someone from a plant nursery to come over for several hours, re-sod (or at least reseed) my neighbor's lawn, and do a little better job of sorting out my garden. In the end, they kind of left in a hurry. They did not meet with me again to talk about the whole thing, and I did not have a chance to say that I was not happy with the way they left the garden. They were excellent with fixing the sewer line. I rated them highly because what I hired them to do had nothing to do with my garden, and I thought they were really good overall.
