Satisfied customers reporting! We're writing this review four months after the completion of our bathroom renovation. We've been thrilled with the final product and the experience of signing with Ouri from day one was a pleasure. This was our first large project and we would undoubtedly hire Ouri again. Project We instinctively knew Ouri was the best fit for us after the on-site consultation. Not only are his reviews overwhelmingly positive, but he's knowledgeable, respectful, patient, and honest, with competitive pricing to boot. He's also a very responsive communicator. We needed some time after signing the contract to shop for materials. Ouri kindly rolled with our uncertain timeline, checking in periodically without any pressure to see where we were at and advising on any questions we had along the way. From the beginning of the project, his crew was respectful, clean, and always checked in with us as any questions came up. The project went smoothly and for one very minor hiccup that came up, Ouri & crew were quick to address without question. And months later, he sent a member of his crew to come troubleshoot something minor, again without any hesitation. It's challenging to keep these brief when you have such a great experience, especially when you read and hear about horror stories from other people. Selfishly, maybe we should keep this to ourselves so he isn't so busy when we need him for another project in the future :) Scope The bathroom was totally gutted save for some sections of drywall. A full tiled shower with a bench was installed (replacing a tiny old corner unit!), along with added lighting & exhaust fan, new floor tile, and all new fixtures/ cabinets/ paint. The plumbing and the shower drain were relocated. An old window was removed and replaced by a new one on an adjacent wall.

We couldn’t be happier with our home addition and renovation by Oury and his team at Universal Home Design! From the moment we met with Oury to discuss our project he was so friendly and communicative, and made us feel at ease and taken care of. The entire team was a pleasure to work with from the initial consultation through the final reveal. Since I am a licensed architect, I was able to complete the plans and take them through approval and plan check myself, but Oury was there to consult and provide answers to my questions to help make the project successful. Once I handed over the plans and a budget and schedule were agreed upon, Oury and his team took over and did an amazing job. They listened carefully to our needs and preferences, and fixed any problems or misses that would arise without any push back. The project manager, Alfredo, kept us informed every step of the way, and they were very respectful while they worked, cleaning up after themselves and keeping noise to a minimum during my daughter's nap times (we were living in our home during construction). The craftsmanship and attention to detail in the finished space are truly impressive. Our new home exceeds our expectations, and we’re grateful to Oury and Universal Home Design for bringing our vision to life!

Working with Universal Home Design on our bathroom remodel has been a terrific experience. Ouriel was fair in his pricing, the work was high quality, and throughout the process he was an excellent communicator, checking in regularly about key decisions and laying out next steps. The work proceeded exactly as he had described and was completed on time. My wife and I hired him for a second bathroom job right away.

In ten years of buying and selling properties, hiring contractors to improve the homes can be a challenge. If you need a contractor, please save yourself time and grief, Ouri’s « Universal Home Design » is the dream company to work with. I am not kidding. Ouri and his team are the most pleasant, competent, responsive, on time, budget conscious people I have ever worked with. The work is flawless and the result is there to prove it. The addition to my house is gorgeous and makes my home stand out in the whole neighborhood. My family is still in awe with the quality and the integrity of Universal Home Design’s work. Ouriel has been absolutely wonderful to work with. He listened to my ideas and only gave light suggestions if he thought it worth mentioning. I really appreciated that he heard me. His team was super friendly and cleaned up after themselves each day after they finished. Everything was professionally done very well, and my bathroom looks so beautiful!

We just had two bathrooms completely remodeled by Universal Home Design. Ouriel was professional and helpful through every stage from design through final inspection. We felt comfortable with him from the first meeting. He was quick to respond to every question or concern. We were kept informed about work schedule and the crews were prompt and hardworking. Their workmanship is excellent. We were very pleased with the bathrooms and will work with Universal Home Design for our upcoming kitchen remodel.

My husband and I just finished a remodel of our guest house in Sherwood Forest. We used a company called Universal Home Design Inc. The contractor and owner of the company Ouriel Lousky was most professional in every aspect of the job. His crews were timely and most efficient in every way. He had his subcontractors lined up so the job was never lagging behind. I would recommend him to anyone who is planning on a remodel or a renovation. Mary V.

This was by far the best experience in making changes to our home. Oury and his crew, Jose and Jorge, made it as inconvenient as possible for us. Their workmanship is far above the rest and the results are unbelievable. The quality of work is superb. They are trustworthy and always available. Communication was excellent throughout the entire project. We would definitely recommend and hire again if need be

Universal Home Design Inc. is fabulous! I'm a single senior woman and I'd never had remodeling work done before. I was vey frightened of being taken advantage of by a contractor. The contractor Ouriel listened to every word I said. He guided me to get the exact results I wanted in remodeling my bathroom. He is extremely professional and informative. He estimated the job to take 3 - 4 weeks, he was right on. Everyone on the working crew spoke English, and were reliable, efficient, courteous and trustworthy. I could leave them alone in my home and feel completely at ease. Everyday before they left, they would sweep the floor and clean up their tools. Ouriel's patience and talent made this remodel go extremely smoothly. I'm completely satisfied with the results and highly recommend them. If you don't want stress or if you have a fear of price hiking in the middle of your job, make your life easier and use Universal Home Design Inc.

Everything was done with complete professionalism. On time, on budget, and with great taste. We are beyond happy with our project and look forward to working with Universal Home Design again on future projects.

Oury and his team were wonderful to work with. Very professional, reliable and constant partner in this project. He provided excellent ideas to help decide on materials to be used. Ory, at Universal Home Design, is a professional and extraordinary contractor.  He was referred to me by a good friend.  From the first call to the completion of the project, we felt confident and trusting of Ory and his crew.   <br /> <br /> At first, I reached out to inquire about fixing water damage from an ongoing leak from the third floor down to the basement.  Ory said he could come by that same day, then gave me a time and showed up within minutes of the appointment. <br /> <br /> He was very friendly and patient as he sat down and took his time to get to know me, my in-laws (it was their house) and, my husband, answering all the questions we had and making sure everyone was on the same page. <br /> <br /> As he began to investigate the root of the problem, he walked us around the area, explaining his findings and the ways to fix it. <br /> The original plan was to replace the shower, but as our family felt more confident with Ory, we decided to remodel the entire bathroom. <br /> This was exciting yet nerve-wracking for my retired in-laws but Ory went beyond his call of duty and treated them like friends, walking us through the entire process.  He made things easy, bringing samples for us to choose from and giving clear, direct instructions on the items we needed to order.  When we went to the tile store, he came along and gently guided us.  He never pushed a product or style and was very good at listening, and communicating his ideas, suggestions, advice and concerns.   <br /> <br /> The crew, at Universal Home Design, were on time every day on the job.  They were courteous and hard working and always cleaned up after themselves. Ory always introduced every crewmember so we knew their names and who was coming through the house.  <br /> <br /> Throughout the remodel, he kept me on track with the fixtures and timeline I needed to order them.  He was thorough, always making sure I have the info and specs I needed for the research to make my selection.   <br /> When things were installed, Ory would check in to see if we were happy and he always prefaced with, "if you're not happy, I have no problem taking it out and doing it again."  He would never make you feel guilty or bad about anything.  Actually, when our bathtub was installed, we realized it was too small so he took it out, ordered and paid for a new one and took the loss on the return. <br /> <br /> When I went out of town, leaving my retired parents with Ory in the middle of the project, he texted and called periodically to give me updates and sent pictures of the progress.  My parents had no issues or concerns throughout the entire process.  I think Ory probably sets the record for the most responsive and communicative contractor in the world - for real! <br /> <br /> I can not say enough great things about Ory.  The bathroom looks amazing and my parents are really enjoying it.  The quality and workmanship are superb and we are very pleased, especially my parents who get to enjoy it. <br /> <br /> I highly recommend Ory and his team but with reservation because I'd rather keep Universal Home Design all to ourselves! <br />

<p>I needed to do a major remodeling job on my house - to be frank I have been VERY timid to trust anyone with such a big job.  </p> <p>I was recommended by a friend to Universal and after meeting with Ori and seeing his previous work - I took the leap of faith.  I have a 4,000 sq/ft house in Valley Village that needed a full kitchen makeover, two upstairs complete bathroom remodeling, changed carpet to wood floors throughout the upstairs and the whole house painted - we also needed some minor work done in the laundry room and some electrical work - nothing major.  My wife, bless her soul, has VERY exacting taste and to say is a perfectionist is an understatement.</p> <p>To make a long story short I am a tough critic, but Universal deserves every bit of the 5 star rating given here.  From start to finish, all work was done one time (very important before kids get back to school) and every aspect of the job was done as agreed to and specified.  It came out amazing and I got to see every aspect of what was done - top notch workmanship.</p> <p>Ori was extremely patient with us (we had some indecisions about tile and colors etc) and he walked through every step of what was going to happen, when and how - and above all was patient with us and our never ending questions.</p> <p>We had some lower bids and many much higher bids, but now that we are done with it all - we are very happy with everything.</p> <p>I highly recommend Universal and Ori to ANYONE that wants the anxiety of doing a major job like mine.</p> <p><br></p> <p>Thanks you Ori!</p> <br>

Bought a house built in 1962 that needed kitchen & bath upgrades. Ended up redoing entire kitchen ,  two baths and a room. <br /> <br /> Met with several different contractors and hired Universal Home Design because of Ouri. He was very professional and polite and gave us a good vibe. We explained our vision and he gave suggestions without trying to sell us on crap we didn't want.  <br /> Ouri took the time to come up with an estimate/bid and worked on the layout in the computer with us for two hours, free of charge. Communication was excellent via email and text. Throughout the project, we enjoyed prompt, fast responses, even late nights and on weekends. Yuri took care of all permits and city inspections as well. For us, Universal Home Design was basically a turnkey operation; we gave them the house key and let them come and go freely without supervision. There were no problems with this, it was all very convenient.  <br /> <br /> From talking to our friends, in any renovation project, there are sometimes a few details that need correction and some minor setbacks along the way. To UHD's credit, unlike some of the stories we've heard about other contractors, Ouri never argued against our occasional requests for early fixes and adjustments mid-project, and had his team rectify these items promptly to our satisfaction. UHD's customer service is very good. So far everything has been great and we are very much enjoying our new kitchen.  <br /> <br /> Overall we are very happy with the results and would recommend Universal Home Design.

Our foundation was being undermined by erosion and animals were digging under causing several problems including tearing into the HVAC ducting. <br /> Universal Home Design came in and dug several feet down by the foundation and reinforced our foundation with rebar and concrete as well as poured new stairs going to back of house and put in a retaining wall. <br /> The job took about 5 days to complete and the work was done very professionally.  <br /> This is not the first time we have used Oury as our contractor. He has been called in to work with us on many projects both big (kitchen rennovation) and small and each time he has been on time, efficient and professional, operates on his word (if he says he will be there on a certain day he will be there), and has a friendly crew that her works with. Also he works with you on the project to give you many possible options to consider when making decisions on the project. <br />

I THINK THEY DID A GOOD JOB. THEY WERE SLIGHTLY OVERPRICED. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM.
