They were good, I give them a good rating. They were very prompt, the estimator was out just a few hours after I called, the work men were there the very next day and got the job done on time. They did a really good job.

They did excellent job. The price was extremely reasonable.

Upon seeing the worn out old unit, which I thought needed fixing, the service man explained why a new one would be best. Made sense, he replaced it quickly. Very satisfied. <br />

Prompt response, arrived on the scheduled time, and got right to work. Charge was the minimum service charge.

The estimator was on site within an hour of calling the office. He carefully checked out the problem and estimated the materials and labor needed. Later that day the office called with an estimate of $1200. Upon my approval, the plumbers were at my house the next morning at the promised time. They did a professional job of installation and adapting the plumbing to accommodate the new heater. They hauled away the old heater and cleaned up the worksite before they left. They returned the next day to check for leaks and replaced O-rings in two flange fittings. The final bill came in under estimate and a 25% senior discount was applied to the labor costs. <br />

Called, after checking the List, got Brenda on the phone, who made an appointment for the next day. <br /> The plumber, Leno, called about 15 minutes before arriving (on time). <br /> He assessed the situation, got to work and had the job wrapped up in an hour or so. <br /> The repairs were fully successful. He also gave us some very helpful tips about a few other plumbing/heating-related issues that we will deal with later in the year. <br /> We were very impressed with his hard work and professionalism. We will definitely hire Universal for our future plumbing needs. <br /> <br />

Another plumber had recommended replacing the boiler for an estimated material and labor cost of over $7000. <br /> Tony (the lead man at Universal Plumbing) inspected the boiler unit and instead recommended a thorough cleaning and replacement of one or two zone valves. <br /> The work team arrived as scheduled, performed the cleaning, zone valve replacement, water heater draining and radiant heating system purge. The workers were very professional, explaining what they were doing, answering all my questions. They left the mechanical room clean and neat, their work appears very professional. They also installed a 4-zone monitoring device (for the zone valves) that makes it easy to keep track of which zones are calling for hot water and which ones are getting it. <br /> The work included purging the air from the radiant heating system. This caused the slab to cool down. External temperatures were below freezing, and the radiant heating system seemed to be regaining heat inconsistently across zones. Tony and his crew returned several times to purge the system a second time, adjust the thermostats, take temperature readings on floor surfaces, and in general, stick with us until everything was running correctly. <br /> For me, trust is key. When I pay a contractor, I need to trust that he will stay on task until it is right. Tony and his crew earned my trust on this job and I will use Universal Plumbing again to move gas and water lines as part of a major kitchen renovation. The fact that Universal found boiler replacement unnecessary saved me thousands. <br /> I recommend Universal Plumbing wholeheartedly. <br />

We called at 8:30 on a Monday morning. Brenda called back within 15 minutes to confirm that Lino would be onsite within about an hour. Lino called 30 minutes later to indicate he was 15 minutes away.Lino arrived at 9:30 and took apart the drain and removed blockage (improper food in garbage disposal). All repaired in about 30 minutes (paid for one hour minimum). Great Service! <br />

Lino was very professional, and took the time to explain to me the do's and don'ts relating to HWH and boiler maintenance. He tested all three zone thermometers to be sure that they were functioning correctly, and told me about things to look for when a problem might be about to occur. He also advised me that overall both the boiler and HWH were in very good shape and that with routine maintenance they would last for many years. The cost was very reasonable given how long he stayed, and I plan to use Universal every year in the future. I particularly appreciated Lino's honesty - another vendor in Santa Fe told me that my boiler was and quot;a tract house boiler,and quot; that it was not functioning correctly, that I was at risk of CO poisoning and/or a fire due to incorrect venting. That vendor recommended that I replace the entire system (which is only seven years old) with a new HE boiler and indirect HWH for a price of $10,000. Needless to say, I will not be using that other vendor in the future. <br />

They run their show the way we all wish everyone would. Timely, responsive, knowledgeable fairly priced and just down right exceptional! Hire them and you will not be disappointed. <br />
