I was very impressed with not only the information I received prior to my appointment but the follow up after the work was performed. I had a complete replacement driveway done and the price and workmanship was very professional. T he team that showed up was well organized and very professional. They not only cleaned up from their work they also cleaned my sidewalk. They went above and beyond for me and the price was great. I would recommend this company to anyone

Low bidder. Skimped on base prep and materials. Poor communication. Damaged neighbors home. Excuses and lies. Promised to repair low spots (puddles) in new driveway and never returned. Won’t return calls. STAY AWAY!

They did the seal coating. Once we had the appointment it was fine, but I believe my husband had to call him multiple times I believe to set up the appointment. At one point we just had given up on him and said okay, let's just do without the sealing.

They do an excellent job. The salting and snow plowing service was excellent. I have had no problems with this company. I had a snow contract with them towards the season. The contract with them was a thousand dollars for the season, but because we did not get snow, ice, or rain besides a few times, they actually have just sent a refund check for me which they did not have to do because I was under contract. So, they refunded half of my money back.

Upstate Asphalt Services stopped by my house to offer their services "at a discount" as they had left over asphalt from two jobs they did in my neighborhood that day.  The contract called for 3 inches of type 7 asphalt, edging the perimeter of the area to be paved, sawcuts to establish "keyways" for flush transition to the garage, walkway, roadway, etc.  The price also included seal coat application in the spring.  The area was not sawcut and there is a wavy transition at both ends of the driveway.  The asphalt was applied OVER my garage door opening in many places.  It is chipping and crumbling in the areas around the walkway and in one spot along the edge of the driveway.  There is a big hole near the garage door where no asphalt was applied.  Grass is growing through the drive way in one spot.  The siding on my garage in dented and broken.  I asked that they, at least,  come back and fix the poorly finished edges.  The owner said it was done that way because it had started to rain and they did not have time to finish.  He promised to stop by and correct the problem. Since that time, he has been a no show on two occasions. I was then told by his office staff that he would call me directly.  It never happened.  I was then told that when he got back from an out of town trip, he would stop by to fix it.  He never did.  I called several times and emailed several times.  I got no response.  I have told this provider that I intend to follow up in small claims court.  I am now in the process of getting estimates from other companies so that I can do just that.  The  estimator from the first company who came out to give an estimate told me the job was one of the worse that he had ever seen... he pointed out places where the asphalt was starting to crack... this job is only 3 months old!  He was in disbelief that the edges were left in the state they were.  He also pointed out (by picking up a piece of asphalt that had broken away) that I had only about one inch of product, not three....He said I would be lucky to get about 5 years out of the job that was done.  He was totally disgusted by the workmanship, saying it gives the rest of the industry a bad name. I expect a similar reaction from the other professionals that I have coming out to evaluate the situation.  I also have a friend who just had his entire driveway pulled up, enlarged and repaved (not resurfaced)  from another local contractor for the price I paid for this lousy job.  Stay away from this company.  They are not accountable and do shoddy work for a hefty price!  Having said that, and in light of the fact that this contractor claims, via rebuttal,  that I got upset when he would not give me an estimate for additional work, because of liability and what he believes to be antique cabinets in my garage, that is a situation that exists only in his mind.  I was given an estimate for additional work and, it would seem, the contractors responsiveness disappeared when I asked for an estimate on only one part of the job.  The multiple telephone conversations we had were initiated by me after this contractor made appointments with me and then never called and never cancelled.  That is when things went south for me.  I did not cancel multiple times.  I was stood up multiple times.  But enough with the he said she said.... a picture is worth a thousand words.  I am, therefore, attaching a copy of the estimate he did provide , although he said  he didn't,, and a copy of  the "antique cabinets" in my garage, i.e., low end plastic rubbermaid cabinets.  Also attached are copies of the nice crumpling edges of my driveway.
Response from Upstate Asphalt & Leto Paving LLC
"In response to the review made by [Member name], Upstate Asphalt Services has been in constant contact with this customer since the day she called to ask for additional work to be done on her property. The situation only started to turn negative when she was advised that we would not be able to quote and perform the additional work, concrete work in her garage, because it would be a liability to Upstate Asphalt Services and not covered by our insurance. There are antique cabinets that are not able to be moved in the garage hindering the propeer installation of the concrete and creating a liability if damage were to be incurred- by feeling comfortable with offering our services in regards to the concrete work, she became very upset. In the course of going back and forth about the concrete work she did mention a possible concern with the end of her driveway, which was addressed. There was never any mention about damaged siding, holes, or anything to do with her grass- the first time we are learning of this is with the review and we have emails documenting that there was no prior mention of any issues. Upstate Asphalt Services has always answered any of this customer's calls and emails. There are phone records showing that we spoke with this customer on 09/11, 09/24, 09/29, 10/02, 10/14, and 10/20. Throughout that time we tried to set multiple appointments to meet her and discuss the bottom of her driveway but either she was busy or would reschedule. On 11/5 we sent our employee out to review and do any repair needed to the end of the driveway and she was rude to our employee. On 11/15 after this review came to light we made a attempt to mediate the situation and the Owner as well as the Office Manager went to her house. Upon arriving at the property there was no damaged siding, no holes and nothing wrong with her grass that she mentioned in the review. When the Owner and Office Manager attempted to discuss the situation and how we could make her a satisfied customer, which is very important to us, she was extremely rude and did not want to have a professional discussion so at that point the Office Manager began to take pictures so that there would be photographic evidence showing that there was no damage to the property. While the pictures were being taken the customer proceeded to go ballistic, used vulgar profanity towards the Owner and Office Manager and ultimately kicked them off the property."
