Kenny is awfully rude. Came with a second person Dylan who didn't wire mask during pick Covid-19 time. I provided him mask. Kenny got irritated when I asked him if he was going to close the entry point and said he knows what he was doing and for me to let him do his job. The removed a large Racoon from my Attic but didn't close the entry point as discussed during our contract. I paid him $435 and he caught the animal and refused to close the entrance unless I paid him additional $600 to cover the 2ft missing Fascia board. He said to me that I promised him that I will let him do the repair work in the attic which he is quoting me $5,100 for to replace the insulation. I told him I hired you for animal removal and paying for it although he left the entry point open for any other animal to come in through. There is no way I am hiring him for insulation work as he didn't close the opening although it is part of the trap/removal work as par our conversation. Awful, Rude, Dishonest individual.
Response from VA Animal Control Inc
"Ok so let's be honest hear Mr [Member Name Removed] insisted that I commit insurance fraud for him so the removal of animals to be covered and damaged. He had a raccoon in the attic and was in direr need for us to remove and we did we went in attic spent 45 minutes and got the animal . Then he wanted us to close up all the holes for the same price of 435.oo when we had already talk about the cost then tried to tell me I told him it was one price for everything .He has over 1000 square ft of batted and blown insulation. Just another case of wanting something done without paying for it"

Kenny was very responsive when I put in the search on Angie's List. He was clear on the cost of squirrel removal/setting traps. He answered all my questions clearly. He was already working near my home so he came by the same day to check on any entry points. He was able to look outside first knowing I was concerned about people entering the home because of the pandemic. He was HONEST and told me he could not find any entry points on my roof into my home. WOW! It is such an amazing thing to find someone you can trust and won't just charge you to set traps that are not needed. I would recommend this company to use for any future animal removal.

Kenny managed to get us scheduled the same day (8/25/2020) that I called. The guys cleaned out the vent and removed the dead bird. They also sanitized. They were thorough and conscientious. They also went the extra mile and cleaned out behind the washer and dryer. The cost was $435.

We have hired VA Animal Control to trap a racoon in our attic. They have been working on trapping the racoon for a few days now. The racoon has made holes in the roof that they covered with a pizza box. Today it is raining. They came to the house today to remove the trap from the roof because they don't work weekends and left the holes covered with a pizza box. I called them to get them to at least cover the holes with a tarp to keep the rain out of the house. They said it would cost an additional $100. I recommend choosing a different company to get your work done.

Kenny and his assistant, Scott, arrived on time and were efficient ridding my attic of squirrels. And for the animal lovers out there, they took the squirrels to a wildlife area miles and miles away. I could tell they were animal lovers too. They covered my attic vents with wire to prevent this from happening again. All of this was done with care and for a reasonable price. Highly recommend!

I'm not satisfied, I felt like they were very expensive (we've already paid them at least $1100) and we still have a big problem. Twice they had appointments and didn't call or show up. Twice when I called and tried to speak with a manager, the man who answered the phone refused to transfer me and was very rude. The technicians, however, were pleasant and worked hard to try and take care of everything, even though the company has yet to find a solution for us.
Response from VA Animal Control Inc
"[Member Name Removed] - sorry you experienced this. I am a little confused as we are a small company. The technicians would have been me - and my other employee. I answer all the calls directly and do not have a manager. We take all feedback very seriously and try to use it to improve our service so thank you for sharing. If there is still an issue please call and I am sure we can work it out for you."

Squirrels had established a home in my attic. I called Kenny and left a message. Kenny promptly returned my call and took the time to explain the details of my problem. We had the detailed worked out within 30 minutes which included getting the animals out of the attic, live-trapping any squirrels outside of the house but looking to return and ensuring that the house was "squirrel proof" so it wouldn't happen again. Everything was complete within a day. He was a wealth of knowledge! Very prompt. Professional. Clear communications. No hidden fees. A pleasure to work with.
It was important to me that the squirrels be trapped and removed from my residence. I wanted a Humane Solution to the problem and since you had to be licensed by the State of Virginia to trap I called VA Animal Control.
VA Animal Control's first visit was on Thursday, 11 December 2014. A visual inspection of the property was performed and a written estimate of repairs was provided. Mr. Rand collected a check for $1570. which included $475. for the trapping and $1095. which represented 30% of the estimated costs to seal entry points into the home. No traps were set up on this visit.
His second visit to our home was on Monday, 15 December 2014 to seal the home and install a trap. At the end of the work day Mr. Rand requested the balance of his payment or $2555. My husband reminded him I was an Angie's List member but he now claimed the 10% discount only applied to the trapping fee. The ad he runs in the monthly magazine states 10% discount and there are no disclaimers or exclusions mentioned nor were any mentioned in our phone conversations. My husband wrote him a check for $2507.50 which represented $2555- $47.50 discount on the trapping fee.
The third visit was 18 December 2014 to cover the trap. Mr Rand felt the squirrels could see the trap so weren't going into it. As of this date no squirrels had been trapped.
On Monday, 29th December 2014 his workers returned to remove the trap. Unfortunately, the fourth and last visit was not scheduled. We received a call when Mr. Rand's employees were 10-15 minutes from our home. My husband explained I was showering and dressing for work. They could not wait to do a visual inspection of the attic. Attic access is in the closet off the master bath. The trap was removed and they left. We have not heard from VA Animal Control again.
I am extremely disappointed this service provider did not do as he claimed. First, he did not come business days in a row to trap the squirrel(s).The house was completely sealed on 15 December prior to any animals being trapped. Over the next 11 days the squirrel(s) were trapped inside all day without food or water until they finally died. 26 December 2014 is the last day I heard the squirrels moving around in the attic.
Now I have decaying dead animals trapped in the attic or walls of my home. Before hiring VA Animal Control I could hear the squirrels enter the attic between 3-4 p.m. daily and leave between 7-7:30 a.m. The humane solution provided by this company is a long and painful death for the animal(s) with no further attempts to locate the bodies of the dead animals and remove them from my home.

"Hi [Member Name Removed], Thank you for your feedback. I am so sorry this went south for you. It was never my intention and I feel terrible about it. I take full responsibility for the miscommunication and the way you were treated. I am always learning and trying to get better, and we have over the last few years serving our clients. As you can see it has been a while since I looked at the listing here so I apologize for the very late response to this."

They were very efficient and did a great job on getting the problem resolved and making sure that there would be no more issues with raccoons getting the house and also showed me places where other types of animals could get in and also gave me a estimate for repairs for getting those places sealed up. They were also very polite and courteous.
I called them late one night at like 10:00 p.m. They were very helpful an setup an appointment for the next morning. They showed at the exact time they said they would be at my house show all the entry points that the raccoon's were getting in at explained the best way to keep them out. Set out traps came back the next day and caught three raccoon's. They reset the traps and came back out to recheck they have 2 more days of trapping left to do and after that I'm thinking of letting them do the repairs to keep those pesky animals out of my Chicken coop. They were so professional that I want them to check my house and help with the mice next month.
