Really well. George identified the problem, found the replacement parts at a local supplier, and fixed the toilet within a couple hours of arriving.

Fantastic. This was the second time I had David Greene out to my house (the first time was to my previous house in Woodstock). He came out the same day I called; he is a very pleasant and trustworthy man, and a seasoned plumber. He had a very pleasant helper with him and they were a pleasure to have at my house. He fixed the leak promptly and without having to disturb an irrigation line nearby. I had called another A-rated plumber on Angie's List (before I found David Greene's receipt in my file from a few years ago). That plumber quoted me $880 - $1100 for the job. I am not a sucker. I called David and he did the job the same day, no service call fee, for $380. You have got to call David at Valu-Rite Plumbing! [*** Link removed ***]

David Greene and his team area absolutely amazing! Our sewer alarm went off back in July and I called them immediately. They came to the property on time and extremely professional. Because of the steep hill that my home is located on, they advised a larger sewer pump to be installed. This pump needed to be ordered. The pump arrived during the 4th of july Holiday and their team was out as promised installing the new pump (even though it was a holiday). In the meantime I was dealing with another contractor on a very large tree that was removed from our property. This contractor left huge pieces of wood under my deck and he was hired to cut the tree down and then cut the wood into small firewood pieces. I was going back and forth with this guy and getting extremely frustrated. He wouldn't come back to property to finish his job. Because of David Greene being so personable I was comfortable enough to talk to him about this contractor. David offered some of his men to help get rid of the wood for a very small fee. Because of the size of the logs he recommended doing a wood path to the lake I live on instead of trying to get the huge logs up the hill and damage my yard with a bob cat. His guys cut the logs into equal size pieces and placed them appropriately. The path looks amazing and i would have never thought we could have use the wood for that purpose. It looks great! Just last week my alarm went back off so I called David. Once again, he was extremely friendly and helpful. He rushed out to take a look and because of the size of the pump and the vibration something ended up getting disconnected. So he reattached everything and created and even better method of stabilizing the pump and didn't charge me a penny. I can't say enough about David and his team! It was such a good experience. I didn't have to chase him down, or call to get updates. He always called me and was always there when he was suppose to be! I will call them again for anything I need done on the property??(even if it doesn't have anything to do with plumbing)?..just in case his men may want to do it! <br /> <br />

The service could have been better. They initially dug up one area of my yard and then found they wouldn't be able to fix the problem from there. So after filling that in they dug up another area of my yard to be able to fix the problem. When they did this they seemed very hurried to just get the job over with and just quickly finished up. After the first couple of rains after they finished the work the ground sunk down and I now have some valleys in my yard. There were some unforseen issues that extended the project from 2 days to about 10 days. I had to spend another $1,000.00 to have a landscaper come out to fix the problems they left in my yard.

I've had contractors out since that have told me the leak could have been repaired for $400 and the main line to my water heater should have just been $1900 and it wasn't even done correctly. My contact with the owner consisted of him yelling at me and providing excuses for their lack of responsiveness. I've been patient throughout this whole process and am pursuing my options for getting my deposit back as the contract is not completed.

"This review is completely absurd, this customer has very very brittle cpvc under her slab and through-out her home. She had a leak under her slab which was coming up through the foundation which has been bypassed and repaired. She was explained the issue and given a price in advance to handle the issue with options for issue repair and then replacement. She chose the replacement and was perfectly in love with our technicians and our company until the middle of the job when her parents turned her down on the finance. She literally started then pulling on her hair, stomping her feet and abruptly ran off our technicians, then made up a lot of stories as to why she just wants her money back. Instead of intelligently explaining to us that she just cant afford to continue. I'm always willing to work with my customers on price and even will give jobs away sometime to help someone in need. We have many extremely happy customers in her own neighborhood who has had the same exact issues with their piping system, and has paid the same amount. Our company was quick to respond, on time and very professional even when she started acting like a (2) year old. This review is her latest attempt to not only break the contract so she doesn't have to pay; but get a refund on the services already rendered as well. This person should be ashamed at what shes doing here. Contractors beware!!"

Had a "blowout" of our wax ring this morning, with a lot of not so pleasant water leaking between the base and floor. Called another plumbing service on the list. They came by, and wanted almost $300 to remove the toilet and replace the ring. Thought maybe the flange was broken. Said a flange replacement would be another $680. I told them thanks, but too high. Called valu-rite. They said that they could get someone over here between 3:00 - 6:00. They called ahead, and showed up at 3:00. <br /> Shawn took of the toilet and concluded the flange was OK. Replaced ring and new brass bolts, also re-seated toilet to not wobble. All this at a much cheaper rate, and was done quickly, cleanly, and a good price. I will definitely use them again. <br />

I called because we did not have hot water on a sunday evening. since I have 3 young kids and an elderly grandmother living in the same house we couldn't really wait. the gentleman that answered the phone was great and did not mind taking my call on a Sunday evening. They scheduled me first thing in the morning. They gave a courtesy call when they were on the way and 2 guys showed up at 8:30 like they said. They looked at the17 year old water heater that was covered in rust and was actually leaking a little, sorry to say it was time for it to go. they explained everything thoroughly and gave me an upfront price and they stuck to it. I also had them look at some other things while they were there. So after evaluating the other things, David gave the price upfront and stuck to it. It felt good not having to haggle with them on price like I thought I would have to with a repair man. They were fair and did a great job. They left the house very clean. Nana was very happy with that. David even went out of his way when my two year old son started to talk to him. My son kept saying what are you doing? David would respond and make him laugh and joke with him. It really impressed nana how he was. That's why he is going to be my plumber for now on. Nana said. lol <br />

A few months ago we had Valu-Rite install a new water heater and were happy with the service and pricing (the installation and the cost of the water heater were quoted over the phone and agreed upon) so when we needed a new garbage disposal I called requesting a quote, I also asked that while the plumber was here for him to take a <strong>look</strong> at our bathroom drains. I was told they couldn't give a quote but would have someone come and then give us the quote for the disposal. An appointment was set for Thurs. between 12 & 3 pm. <br /> At 2:30 we rec. a call saying he was running behind that he would be 30 min. more on the job he was on and would take an additional 45 min. to get to our house. At 3:30 Justin called asking the size of the disposal. Then at 4 pm he again called saying his wife had injured her knee. We offered to delay the apt. until the next day but he declined saying the disposal would not take long to install. When Justin arrived shortly at 5 pm (more than 2 hours late) as we were talking we reminded him he had come to give us a quote. He then told us there is a $40 trip charge which was the 1st time this had been mentioned. Then he gave us the quote for installing the disposal of $225. plus the cost of the unit. As we had already gone to Lowes we had a price from them for installation of $100. He said he would come down to $165 but that was the lowest they ever charged and then the $40 charge would be waved. We had Justin install the unit only because we didn't want to be out an additional $40. It would have been less costly had we simply purchased the one at Lowes and had them install it. <br /> As to the drains in our bathrooms he did take a quick look at them and suggested caulking in one and the other a quote of $250. for opening up the wall to check on the pipes. <br /> <br /> <br />

"Hi [member name removed], :o) I am very sorry for your dissatisfaction with our service this time around. I would be PlumbHappy to visit you myself, and give you a second opinion on your drain pipe issues at no charge. I do not know how other companies arrive at the price they have, however our pricing is based on overhead, time and demand as with most businesses. We do not attempt to compete with such businesses as Lowe's or Home Depot as they are not themselves a plumbing company. However, many of my customers have contested that such companies have left leaking pipes on simple disposal or toilet installations causing damage to their home down the road; or the price was much more than quoted to fix issues found while performing said installation. Perhaps it's best that you didn't use such a company. Our price as quoted, covers any possible issue which may arise on the job without coming to you for more money and without leaving problems for you to deal with later. An additional problem found under your sink such as a leaking or bad pipe would have been replaced for no additional fee if it could compromise the installation of your disposal. The previous "price over the phone" was our (basic) install price for a water heater. That price is not and was not a solid price until the technician arrived to have a look at your situation. We will sometimes quote a basic price over the phone, however you were asking many questions about the power of disposals and noise jackets and the like. The person answering the phone is a customer service rep, not a plumber; and can answer only very basic questions in most cases. I do apologize for the delays you experienced this day and hope that you would give me a chance in the future to again provide a more pleasant experience with our company. :o) Sincerely, David"

Three days after Valu-Rite fixed our sewer-line, we came home to a partially flooded basement due to water heater leak. Given the excellent service and response time that we had gotten a few days earlier, we called them again. They came out first thing the next day and replaced the damaged water heater at an excellent price. As before the technician was friendly, courteous and took the time to explain what needed to be done and how long it would take.

We called Saturday morning, they came out by 2PM and were finished by 6PM. David took the time to explain to us what they found, causes & did not leave until they felt it was fixed which included video inspection of the line. They were extremely friendly and courteous. For the work that was performed, I thought that the price was great.

The scheduling wasn't a problem, but as time went by it actually doesn't appear that he really fixed the toilet because we're still having the same issue with the toilet being hard to flush. I liked that he was prompt and came out fast. He did the work in one day, but what I don't like is that he didn't complete the work and even with the coupon we still had an additional out of pocket expense of $135. He fixed two out of the three things and the amount was hire.

They were late in arriving but the work was done efficiently and both men were very nice and cleaned up after they finished. With the coupon we saved bet. $300-400 from price quotes we rec. from other plumbing companies with the same brand of water heaters. We have already recommended them to friends. <br />

The work went ok but the circumstances around the job did not go well. He was not prepared to work and my husband had to help. I felt like he was in a real big hurry to complete job. I will not use him again in the future.

I've used this company yet again and got great service after another company came out to unclog my sewer line and told me they had to dig it up. Bob came out from Valu Rite and was able to clean my drain in no time! I'm very impressed with these guys and their knowledge. <br />

The plumber met my wife and at exactly the time promised - completed the work in a reasonable time at a very good price. <br /> There was an issue with the the drain on one of the faucets - they came right back out and fixed it no problem. <br /> Could not ask for a better experience. Will definitely use again. <br />
