Kitchen - Remodel

He is a CON Artist I hired Damon for multiple projects after he was referred to me. At first, he installed bathroom faucets, but one quickly started leaking and required repairs. Later, I hired him for landscaping and a fireplace project, and that is when the problems started. He increased the original landscaping quote by $5,000 nearly a year later, claiming he needed workers, yet hired day laborers with little experience. The landscaping work was rushed, incomplete, sloppy, and not done correctly. Plants were installed improperly, trash and dirt were left everywhere, and he did not clean up after sanding or construction work inside my home. Throughout the project, he constantly asked for more money despite not completing the work. Over a 4-week period, I paid him approximately $17,000, yet multiple parts of the projects remain unfinished and now need to be corrected by other contractors. He kept creating other jobs so he can bleed you for more money. Stay away from him.

It was not quite as successful. But it worked out fine in the long run. There were no additional charges beyond the big deal amount. The guy who owned the company had a really hard time staying. He came and left a lot. That was our biggest concern. He would come for an hour and then he would leave and then he would come back. So it took several days for him to complete the whole thing. In the long run it kind of got done. I have a hard time recommending them because he left a number of times and it took several days for them to complete the project. He had to leave a worker there to finish it. I had not used them before.

It didn't go well. Terrible communicators. Left toilet to flood bathroom. They fixed the baseboard but I had to pay someone to come and patch the ruined ceiling in the garage under the bathroom.

Daemon Innerarity is an unlicensed, uninsured contractor that does subpar work that I cannot recommend to anyone.
Facts are:
1) Gave us written estimate of $49,873.00 which included ?rough? materials (paint, grout, nails, lumber, etc).
2) Paid $15,000 upfront then $5,000 a week.
3) Paid out over $50,000 for the project in labor + $75,000+ in materials only to discover the job was not done correctly or safely requiring us to hire new professional contractors to fix this disaster.
4) MAJOR problems like bad electrical work and plumbing almost destroyed the house requiring professional remediation
Complaints:
1) Daemon does almost no work himself. I actually think Daemon himself probably knows what he is doing but he hires unlicensed and untrained day workers to do 99% of the work. He pays these workers $120 a day per worker (usually 2 workers on the job) and keeps the rest himself. These workers only work when someone is there to overlook them. Other times, you will find them drinking beer and leaving beer bottles underneath your floor boards and around the yard. During our job the two workers we saw the most were Juan and Dominic and sometimes a 3rd guy named Fernando. Juan is not bad but the other guys don?t care.
2) Daemon is a charming guy and knows how to work the system. He will show you parts of the job finished and only when you look closely or get the job inspected do you realize he did close to nothing right. There will be a sense of progress because there is a lot of dust and holes but the scam is that it will stay that way so he can charge you more per week forever without doing anything right.
3) Daemon?s day worker contractors often do not perform the work to code making very dangerous mistakes
Some example specific pitfalls:
1) Daemon never shows up to the job. Once we installed cameras and had a relative monitor the house we realized he showed up for 5 minutes max a day to collect checks then left for the day. After we realized this fact, we fired him from the job even though we paid out around $50,000 already. Little did we know that we would need to redo most of the project with real professionals.
2) Installed laminate flooring without pad in many parts of the house. We wondered why the flooring was uneven to discover 3) Skimped on materials despite telling us he paid out $15k for materials. When asked for receipts, said ?I don?t keep receipts, you just got to trust me?. Painter later complained that Daemon refused to buy stucco repair materials before painting. Later on we found out Daemon didn?t pay the painter and he walked off the job leaving large portions of the painting unfinished. All exterior paint had to be redone of course since Daemon refused to provide his workers with stucco repair materials. Tile guy said Daemon refused to buy reducers or the proper grout causing expensive cracks in marble tile and glass backsplash.
4) Didn?t install gas stove properly resulting in LEAKING NATURAL GAS. House could have blown up if we didn?t smell the faint gas smell and checked it with soapy water. House went for two months with this gas leak. Found out he didn?t use pipe thread on one of the threads. Later turned out Juan said the yellow tape was expensive and Daemon didn?t want to buy it. Required us to hire a professional plumber to fix it.
5) Crossed wiring in the electrical box causing SMALL ELECTRICAL FIRE. The stove used to be 220v and it was changed over to 110v. He still had crossed the 220v wires in the breaker box. Didn?t install grounds in any of the outlets they installed or replaced. Didn?t put wiring in electrical boxes and instead left them hanging in installation with wingnuts as a fire hazard. Required us to hire professional electrician to fix it.
6) Did not wire electrical wires in conduits underground. Instead just buried cable 1ft causing GFCI outlets to keep tripping every time it rained.
7) Did not use proper fittings on bathroom remodel causing leaking under new cabinets. We pray that the stuff behind the walls doesn?t leak.
8) Hooked up HOT water to ice maker and reverse osmosis machine instead of cold water. Destroyed the reverse osmosis filters within a month. Drank dirty hot water for a month until figured this out by a professional plumber.
Recommendations:
1) Do not hire Daemon Innerarity. Ask him to show you his license and insurance (doesn't have it of course)
2) If he does trick you to hire him for the job, do not pay a large upfront fee. We learned our lesson the hard way. What he will trick you into doing is start random jobs here and there. Like he will start telling you to buy a TV wall mount or HDMI cables even before he paints or installs the flooring. Then he will tell you he needs more money to keep the job going. It will be tens of thousands of dollars later before you realized you were ripped off because everything will look started but never finished.
3) Start with a small job. Never pay more than $5000 to start. Pay the rest after you have it INSPECTED by a professional inspector and passed.
4) Never never pay for his rough materials. He will skimp on everything to save a buck and you will just have to redo it later.
Summary:
I would sue Daemon Innerarity for this job except I found out he is unlicensed and uninsured. So the best I can do is warn other people not to fall for the same trap.

Went fine - they went the extra mile, when the kitchen faucet was too high to clear the plantation shutters the lead went back to the distribution center and brought back a faucet that would work better and didn't charge me for the inconvenience. They're awesome!!!

It went pretty well. Responded to us right away and started work the next week. Work only took a couple of days which was nice. The quality I think is pretty good. Everything looks great. The price was a bit high I think but I'm not familiar with how much these things go for. The only other complaint I have was that they left some dings on the door frame when putting the washer and dryer back in. Something we can fix I think. Also we had a few things stolen from our garage when they were here but probably because we had to leave it open so they could work.

Damon was very prompt for the appointment. We discussed the things I wanted to change and he presented some ideas. He sent the 3D drawings and included more than one view. When I am ready for the remodel, he will bring samples of cabinets, flooring etc.

This was a great deal!
My house was built in 1979, and is mostly still the original house. It is in need of many repairs and upgrades. My husband and I joke about our 80-year remodeling plan because so far we have been doing it ourselves and the work is going very slowly. Recently we decided that when a project stalled because we lacked the manpower, willpower or skill set, we would get some help. I talked to many of my neighbors about the handymen and general contractors they had used. Mostly they complained, so I joined Angie's list and started watching the reviews and the deals.
When Vegas Remodel offered a "contractor for a day" deal for $249, I jumped at it. What could I lose?
Damon responded within 24 hours of my buying the deal and came over to assess the mess the next day. Vegas Remodel does everything I need including flooring, electrical and plumbing. For our trial 1 day project I picked a room that needed a new floor. He told me what materials I needed, said he could work with the stuff I had already picked out, and scheduled the job for the next week.
The job involved lots of tile, so it turned out to be approximately 2 half days rather than all on one day.
Damon worked with one assistant, and they were both polite, punctual, tidy and FAST! The room is beautiful.
I have no complaints except that the rest of the house looks pretty crappy by comparison.
We had a discussion with Damon about possible next projects and I plan on calling Vegas Remodel next time we find ourselves in over our heads and in need of help.

I purchased a big deal coupon for this company. It took several days to do it. I would have to say out of a five it probably came out as a three. It wasn't totally an unprofessional job, my husband could not have done it, but it's somewhere in between unskilled and professional. Instead of refunding me, I bought the tile, refunding me money for the tile, he is going to come back and install some little work. That is good.

Damon and his helper, Juan, do very good and fast work. All the work I listed was done in 14 working days. we are very pleased with the work, and highly recommend Vegas Remodels. Damon prefers to just charge for Labor and have you get the materials. This worked out very well as we could get exactly what we wanted and can still use Damon's name to get a discount at some places. Damon will buy all the supplies he needs and will bring all the heavy stuff from the store and just have you reimburse him. We kept coming up with more projects as we went along, and Damon offered very good advice on colors and materials. The only negative I can say is that they don't clean-up very well at the end of each day. As we had the master bed and bath emptied and closed off from the rest of the house, it didn't cause us any problems there, and I figured I can pick-up and clean myself instead of paying them to do it.

Excellent work!!!!!! I am blown away by the transformation of my property, these guys did an amazing job, I searched for about a week for different estimates and contractors coming out to provide their ideas on what kind of tile I should install, when they came out and showed me what their ideas were I was like I said blown away. My entry way is now like a palace upon entry they completely restructured my entrance with a decorative design and I do want to point out how quick and professional they were, needless to say I will be getting my dining area tile installed next week with similar design and surprisingly enough they did it at an amazing price. I highly recommend Vegas Remodel for anything to do with tile, marble and flooring, absolutely beautiful work!
He is amazing with his creativity, he comes up with great designs and options to make it affordable. We spent almost 40k, we got more for our money than our other bids at more than double the price. We are very happy. I am a contractor also and would recommend him to all my friends.

Damon met with us for an estimate the day after we initially called him and 2 weeks before the tile arrived via common carrier from an out-of-town source. 2 of his crew were here to help inspect and unload the tile for 1 of the 2 shipments. Immediately upon arrival of the tile, either Damon or 1-3 of his crew worked daily for 8 days until the installation was complete, including Saturday and Sunday. They matched the intricate tile pattern perfectly at 2 doorways to the tile job he had done previously in the family room/kitchen.
Response from Vegas Remodel
"(removed member name) was a wonderfull customer and i really enjoyed working with her and her bird who flys through the house on his own and the bird survived the construction."
