Verrone Roofing

In June of 2022 Jay Silverman called me on the phone saying he received my name & phone number from Angi's List stating I was looking to replace my front porch. He came to my house & took measurements & asked what I wanted to have done. I explained I wanted the whole porch removed & new framework & decking plus new railings. I mentioned I wanted composite materials where possible. A while later he called me & gave me the estimate. We made arrangements for him to come to my house with the contract so we could begin. I have the contract signed by both of us on July 12,2022. It says he required $5200 upfront to get the materials. He & the contract says he will start 4 days after the contract is signed & it will take 3 days to complete. After completion I will pay the rest of the money of $3000. He also gave me his personal cell phone number. After over a week he didn't show because of weather or other commitments I said ok & gave him the benefit of the doubt. After a while he didn't show I called him again & he said he had to go to Philadelphia because his child was sick & in the hospital. A week later , 8/8/20222, he said he had Covid. On 8/15/2022 he said he is still sick. On 8/22/2022 I left a message & no response. On 8/23/2022 he sent me a text after I called him saying he'll get back to me. On 8/24/2022 called & no answer later he texted me & said he will be here on Friday Sept. 2 or Monday, On Sept. 13 he said he would come that week. On Sept 21, called no response, on Sept 23 after calling he texted me he would call me later. No callback. On Sept 26 called & he texted me he' can't talk right now. He left a message saying his stepfather took sick & died. On Oct.3 I called & left a message no response. On Oct4. I called & he said he is having lawyer problems with his stepfather's estate. Oct.10 he said my porch would be done this week. On Oct. 18, 19, 20, 21, 24, 25 called & left a message for him to call me & so far nothing. When he first showed up at my home he introduced himself as Jay Silverman & was partners with Verrone Ent. He had a Sweatshirt on with the name Verrone Roofing on the back. After almost 4 months I think I gave him more than enough time & now I would just like my $5200 returned.

The crew did a very professional job. It looks fantastic, better than I could have imagined. They also solved a problem of the birds making nests under the eves. Upon removing some boards it was discovered that there was more water damage than we first saw. I agreed to the additional charges for materials and labor as it was very reasonable. The overall charge for the project was much less than another estimate that I got, actually about half the cost. The clean-up was great. I highly recommend Verrone roofing.
