Veteran Construction

Something is seriously wrong here.  I contacted Veterans for a hail damage claim last October.  Work is not yet completed on my house and garage, and they will not respond to my calls now.   The rep who had been monitoring the work and at my house several times to talk with me no longer has an outgoing cell phone message with his voice on it.  Again, all I can say is that something is seriously wrong here. <br />

Perfect. Veteran construction was professional, prompt, and did a great job. They even used a magnetic "broom" to gather all the old roofing nails. I had one small issue, a bent gutter, but they came out and fixed it for me. They stand behind their work. My house looks great!! <br />

The overall experience was great. The company was very professional, worked around our schedule, and got the work done in a timely matter while handling the insurance claim. one of the things i liked about the company was that the workers were clearly marked with a shirt or tag that had the company name on it so i wasn't just opening the door to anyone. <br />

A few months ago there was a hail storm that dented my gutters pretty bad. I had veteran construction come out to look at my property. My insurance company approved me to have my roof and my gutters done. I only wanted veteran to do the gutters because I have a family friend who does roofs and they were ok with that. They had my gutters replaced for me pretty fast and all the work got done in 1 day. <br />

I had my roof inspected by Veteran Construction. When they told me I had a lot of damage I was hesitant to call in a claim to my insurance company but since my roof was already leaking I thought that I better call in the claim. Veteran Construction helped me work everything out with my insurance company and my roof was approved for a replacement and some of my siding was too. I love my new roof and the experience was easy for me. <br />

we had some storm damage to our roof. a friend recommended Veteran construction..we gave them a call,from the very first phone call they were completely professional and polite.They had someone out here in just a couple days.we were very happy with their estimate,so we decided to go with them.the crew they sent to our home was very skilled,professional,and courteous.they finished on time and under budget..saved us some money! they did a great job!i would highly recommend Veteran Construction.we will definitely use them on any future projects. <br />

My house was damaged in a hail storm in April of 2012.  Tyler from Veteran came out  and gave me a free inspection and told me there was damage to my roof.  He helped me file a claim and worked with the insurance company during the whole project.  The whole process took a month or so but the quality of work and materials was well worth the wait.  They also helped me with a giant dead tree in my back yard and also helped me remodel my garage.  These guys know there stuff and do the work right.  I would definitely refer them to a friend and use them on projects in the future. <br />

The overall process was so smooth- from my original free home inspection all the way to the finished project! <br />

Started off with many promises as to how they could work with my insurance company.  Ended up with me constantly make phone call to them to have work completed.  If you use them have a written contract with payment terms and a finish date with penalty for none completion.  Be aware it obvious they float jobs to keep a cash flow. <br />

They did a lot of work. They were good with working with the insurance companies.  The crew handled it well overall.  I had more problems with some of the siding that was a bit loose, and they came back and fixed it all for free. They didn’t start as soon as they took the order from us.  It took them a while to get it started, but it was eventually done right. We were happy with their finished product.  They were nice and responded to me afterwards.

It is not finished yet and I am hoping things to go smoother from here on out-if I had money to get an attorney then I would had by now. If it continues to go rocky-I may have to borrow some money to get an attorney. If there is ever a next time-and I need a contractor-I do not know what I will do-I know I will be scared to death-as I thought that they were a reputable company,I did my homework. I wish they would tell the truth up front on how long things would take-had I know I would not had went with them. You can't have 4 different people telling 4 different stories to get a customer off the phone.  I have never had to go to such extreme mesures to have to go to the BBB,Channel 6 news, My insurance company,the Attorney General and Angies List. I have went to the BBB OR the Attorney General before on 2 other companies-and things got resolved in a nice manner and quickly. Neither one of those companies every wrote a comment back to the BBB/Attorney General-blaming things on the customer. Why didn't they order my  supplies in August is my question? This is not a good way to run business. If I owned a business-the first thing I would had done was ordered the materials-What is going on over there? I am at my wits end and do not know what to do. Please help.I wish I could send you pictures. <br />

They completed the work on the roof, but have not been back to work on the siding. I've tried calling them and they keep giving me the run around. They have sent someone out a few times for "measurements" but no one will come out to finish the siding. I explained to them it was ok if they didn't want to finish the job, just to give me the difference for the roof and I'd find someone else to do the work. But they are not responsive.

They made me a little concerned at first because they had done a roof for my neighbor who had experienced problems. The owner of the company came to reassure me of the work they would guarantee. They never brought any paper work or warrantee information. The roof has been leaking and I have had water damage just in the past few months, since it's been installed. They've come and checked the roof and have said nothing is wrong. Both of my skylights are leaking as well as around the chimney. I just want to make sure other people do not have this same type of experience. Not only does my roof not do it's job, it looks awful because of the caulking and screws they've just put it in to make repairs.

Arrived 15 min after call to begin day out procedure - met my claim adeste, claim handing was simplified for me with the communications between veteran employees ( Brandon Rady & Jared wells) W/my claims adjust.

This is a FIRST CLASS company doing first class work.  Our crew started on time, worked hard, finished on time, and left the site as clean as they found it.  Theses guys take pride in what they do.  <br /> Would I recommend them to others?  I already have.

Positives:  Contacts really knew how to manage the insurance experience.  For a first time insurance claimant, this was an invaluable asset.  They spent a couple of hours walking me through the process and it worked exactly like Veteran described it.  Also the work requested was completed. <br /> <br /> Challenges:  Communications regarding project progress (due to heavy volume) was a real challenge.  Further, I only needed shingle replacement, but the shingle crew ruined my gutters.  To Veteran's credit, they replaced the gutters at no cost to me.  I'd say the shingle job was an A to A-.  The gutter job / edging was a B+.  Given that we eventually received them all for "free"  made this a valuable experience.

The quality of the work was excellent and was completed on schedule.  An on-site supervisor was available throughout this massive project.  He promptly and courteously answered any question from the homeowners.  The workers were very respectful of each homeowner's property including lawns, trees and shrubs.  All trash was removed at the end of each day. <br /> <br /> We found Veteran's staff very responsive and easy to work with and we would highly recommend Veteran Construction for large or small projects. <br />

It is a company that is very easy to work with.  The salesman was very professional and kept us informed before the work started and when they began.  They arrived and completed the work on the day we had planned to have them come and all workers were very friendly and professional.  Our roof looks fantastic and we have been very pleased with the results.  We would hire this company to do work for us again. 

Overall, it was an extremely easy process. The sales rep I worked with was very knowledgable on the product and services.  He was always dressed very professionally and returned my phone calls in a prompt manner.  I also liked that he provided a detailed reference list with phone numbers at the beginning of the whole process so I could talk to  his previous clients.  This was a great company to work with. 

The work turned out fine. So far we have had no problems. They weren’t great with returning phone calls.

It was absolutely outstanding. They were extremely easy to work with. They were very professional. They exceeded my expectations because they upgraded the shingles to better ones that what I had paid for. I was very happy with their service.

They did an absolutely fabulous job! Our roof looks great! They even provided contact information to prior customers so I could see their finished product first hand. Price is n/a as it was covered by insurance, but I felt it was a good rate.
