My wife and I found out about Cherry Roofing and Siding from our son-in-law Mike Clyburn who is a job planner for Cherry. He set up the visit with the sales rep and ordered the materials for the job. We were visited by the sales rep Mike Schmidt. He inspected the current roof and estimated the work to be done. The roof on the house and the garage were to be replaced (20 square) along with downspout work on the garage. He spent a lot of time explaining the techniques, materials, and timing to complete the job. The crew headed by Mike Kane came the day of the job. They were efficient, their work top notch and left the jobsite as clean as they found it. All the work was completed as expected in one day. The gutter and downspout work were completed in about 1 hour the next day. I have included 2 pics of the finished job. I have nothing bad to say about Cherry Roofing and Siding and will continue to refer friends and family. Keep doing what you do, thank you. Sincerely, Robert and Leslie Heffelfinger.

I got a few quotes from the competition and found Cherry’s the best for the job. Every part of the job was covered by the final negotiated price and there were no surprises during the work. Customer service was always available to coordinate scheduling and the foreman was always on-call to answer my questions. The quality and completeness of the work was outstanding and I would highly recommend Cherry Roofing and Siding to others. In these high inflation days where money is tight, it was good to meet a company that works and negotiates as hard as they did to gain your trust and business. Thank You!

They came out quick to do the estimate & provided an extremely fair price. It took a while to get in the schedule due to a little miscommunication on their end but once we were scheduled they completed the work super fast & efficiently! Glad I hired them!

Professional, quick roof replacement. Good cleanup. The crew of 5 arrived at a little after 7:00 AM and left just before 7:00 PM, leaving a crisp new roof in their wake in one day. It was like watching a military squadron execute a perfect operation. The roof was half done by around 10:30 AM! The afternoon was spent installing the new shingles and doing the slow, painstaking trim work like caulking, sealing, flashing, & paint-matching. The owner was there frequently throughout the day to observe progress and be held accountable for the job. We waited 4 months until we found this roofing service and went with them instantly based on their price+performance proposition.

I had the roof done last year and replaced my siding recently. Could not be happier with how the projects turned out especially the siding. Josh really worked with me to help me decide on a color - sent photos of other houses he'd done in different colors and gave me his opinion on the pros and cons of light siding versus darker colors. His crew, especially John and Mike, were terrific. They came when they said they would, finished on time and did a great job. Paid a lot of attention to detail and listened when I had questions about something. I wanted new column posts for my front porch and Josh was the only contractor who would do it. Overall a great price to value ratio and would not hesitate to recommend them. Feels like I moved into a new house. Thank you! <br />

Estimate was right on. Work done as promised in one day. Cleanup was perfect...could not find one nail. He recommended a new attic fan and put one in for an additional $80. That fan was faulty and he returned the next day and installed a different one...he ended up not charging me for the fan. Very honest and great work. Very satisfied. <br />

The contractor failed to return phone calls and clearly is not willing to honor the warranty. We have had other contractors out and they confirmed that this contractor did shoddy work and "cheaped out" on the installation by placing styrofoam where there should be wood sheathing. basically all that is between us and the outside is styrofoam and vinyl siding. the owner, josh cherry, is not nice and was rude to me and my husband. he is unprofessional. <br />

"We appreciate your concern but alot of this review is just not factual and flat out false. First of all you purchased a house from someone we did work for. A) Absolutely, all material warrantees were transferable for a limited time.As is the case with any contractor B)Workmanship warrantees do not transfer to new homeowners(as is the case with all contractors) Yet you failed to mention I still came out and made good on a warrantee issue at NO charge. Second,Your whole entire house has styrofoam sheathing. Its not our problem that the builders built the house that way. Infact all of your neighbors proably have the same construction. We take pride in what we do for over 40 years!!!. Infact I have a great "thank you" card from the homeowners whom we contracted for originally and they also sent a beautiful fruit and cheese basket to my office for us to thank us for how happy they were with the house. Infact they also left us a raving Angies list review. The problem with social media today is that someone can write whatever they want,with no factual basis and slander you and your company. It would be a great idea for Angies list to sort through reviews to determine legitimate versus illegitimate reviews"

I dealt with Josh Cherry. He was punctual in showing up for the estimate. He worked quickly and explained the whole process. I have a 4,000 sq. ft. roof and he explained that it would take two days to complete. After I decided to use their services, Josh helped me select a color for the shingles. <br /> The roofers came out on time during a terrible heat wave and worked all day. The entire job took about 1 1/2 days. After the workers left, my house was spotless. I haven't even found one single nail. The roof looks fantastic. I would say that they did a fantastic job and I would hire them again. <br />

I had used Alan Cherry's before. They did a roof on a home that we leased. I felt they were reasonably priced. I felt good about the presentation and what they were offering. I was really happy with their work. They didn't use subcontractors, and kept the work site really clean. They were very responsive, and they weren't pushy when following up. Their pricing was competitive. I would use them again.

Alan Cherry's Exteriors installed a new roof (nail-over), ridge vent, facia, soffits and gutters. Josh Cherry scheduled a time for an estimate within a day of my request. He was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He presented me with an written estimate on the spot. Work began within a week of scheduling and was completed within 3 days, as promised. The roof was actually completed on day 1, as were most of the soffits and facia. The remainder of the soffit work took an additional day, as did the gutters. All-in-all, the work was completed quickly and professionally. The workman were friendly and polite and considerate where our property was concerned. They cleaned up as they worked, so there was never an unsightly mess. Josh even stopped by after the first day's work to ask if we were happy with the work thus far.The roof is outstanding, as are the soffits and gutters. We are extremely pleased with the work and woud definitely recommend to anyone who asked, as well as contracting with Alan Cherry's for any additional work. <br /> <br /> <strong>UPDATE - I had to contact Josh Cherry several times to obtain the warranty information for the roof. I ultimately had to contact the Better Business Bureau in order to get the warranty information. Josh continues to contact me to have the complaint rescinded, but I am not entirely sure he has been truthful regarding the entire warranty situation. I am continuing research with the roofing manufacturer. If I learn the warrany was not submitted until my complaint with the BBB was entered, I will update my complaint to reflect this also. <br /> </strong> <br /> <strong> During this time, we were having the house painted and there was work to be done in Cherry's area of expertise. Again I question how does that warrant a D for responsiveness and professionalism. It takes time to get the warranty from the manufacturer. Her painter had contacted me because he broke her attic vents,and I told him that is not the type of work we do,and I don't have the man power to fix other contractors mistakes.i guess you can do a great job for someone,they write a great review yet they stilly find something to complain about.the bottom line is I did what you contracted me to do in a courteous and professnal manner."

Alan Cherry was one of the few companies that actually showed to meet with us about our job and they were smart enough to set up a follow up appointment while they were there to present us with the estimate. Their price was about what others had quoted us. The quality of the work was fabulous. The guys came (it was a small crew of 2 or 3 - sometimes just 1) and worked hard all day, many days in the rain. The attention to detail and the craftsmanship in their work is excellent. They were always professional, respectful, nice and simply put, "good people". Our house looks fabulous - we highly recommend them!

Their price was right on the money; I thought it was competitive and they were up front about the terms. They showed up when they said they would and they largely kept their promise of when they said they’d have it done. I think a lot of it was dependent on the weather. They had some good ideas about replacing panels on the bay windows which I appreciated because it complimented the design features of the house.

The work was done and appears to be OK. I guess the price was alright. <br /> <br /> There were some "down" sides. First, they sent someone out to survey the original damage to the roof and he didn't bring a ladder. He had to go get one so we waited around. I don't know why someone assessing damage to a roof wouldn't bring a good ladder. <br /> <br /> I asked them to take photos of the damage to the roof for the insurance. The photos they took were from the ground and were poor. I took better ones myself from the street by zooming in. <br /> <br /> It was extremely difficult to reach anyone from the company. I tried emails and phone calls. They finally showed up on a day when I was at work and didn't tell me. I realize that sometimes plans change due to weather but they could have kept me updated. <br /> <br /> The cost was higher than the original quote because the roof was steeper than they thought and they had to bring in another person. I would think an experienced roofer would be able to figure that out right off the bat. But they got the roofing job done. <br /> <br /> I had also discussed with them replacing some shutters and a topper to a window. I think they forgot about me. I had to contact them many many times over. I guess it was just too small a job to deal with. I finally emailed them and asked them to please let me know what their plans were because if they already ordered the shutters, I didn't want them to be stuck with them. But - - I told them, I was going to have to find someone else to replace the shutters soon, because, after all, I actually wanted the job done. I also mentioned the window topper. Many emails later.... Finally, they replaced the shutters but never the window topper. I guess the work was OK and the price was OK...but now I'm going to have to shop around for another company because I still want the window topper replaced. <br /> <br /> I had also mentioned to them that if they had done a good job, I wanted to have some windows replaced. I guess they aren't interested in the job of replacing the windows because I never heard anything from them. They did respond at one point and said that yes, they do install windows and were interested...but that is where it ended. I asked several times. I guess they lost interest. <br /> <br /> I'm really disappointed because I was hoping to find someone I could rely on who could handle more work. I really want to make some improvements to our place. They seemed like they were nice enough people. When they were actually communicating, they were OK. I think they would have been good if only they showed competence with the assessment of the # of people they needed, the equipment they needed (ladder), and if they communicated. Even if they made some mistakes in the assessment of people, etc., if they had just kept me updated, I would have been happier. I feel like I had to beg to get them to do the job and I'm left with trying to find someone to do the other work I still want done. It also took a very long time. The damage occured in February. (Insurance company dragged their feet paying which caused some of the delay). The roofers were scheduled for May. The shutters were finally replaced at the end of July after many emails. I gave up on the window topper. A person can only ask so many times. <br /> <br /> Well, I guess it is a good sign for the economy if a company is so busy they don't communicate and they are turning down work. I don't "get" it personally, but this was my 1st time using a contractor. Maybe they are all like that. <br />

"Repaired roof that was damaged by wind within 24 hours of her call,so that she would not have any more damage to the house..Her insurance company gave her a "Low Ball" figure to repair the roof..And also did not pay me for my emergency repair..I felt bad that she had not been given enough money to do her roof,and did it for the price that the insurance company gave her anyway,as a nice gesture..I explained that I do not do such small jobs as just 2 shutters,but told her I would help her out..The shutters took awhile to get in from the manufacturer,so in return for her long wait for her shutters,I didn't charge her at all.Free shutters,Free emergency roof repair,and a new roof doesnt seem like such a bad deal to me"

<p>I went through Allan Cherry?s Exterior in 1989 to put siding on my house. This was Wolverine Vinyl Siding and came with a 50 year guaranteed warranty. Well when he was supposed to come out to do the work it was another man, not even Alan. This was to be a 3-5 person job and it was this one man the entire time. He put vinyl siding on asbestos shingles and he said this would provide more insulation. I didn?t know a lot about this procedure so I felt like I could or should believe him. I?ve tried to call Alan numerous times between then and now. I did reach Alan June 22, 2011 and said he would call me in a couple days, this call was in regards to the siding on my house which was to have a 50 year warranty and the fact that shingles did fall off my house. Alan said he could put those shingles back on or replace broken pieces that fell off. He did say he would have to charge me for any repairs other than the pieces that broke off. He contracts everything out. He doesn?t do anything himself. He doesn?t even check with the sub-contractors at any time while they are working on my house. I have heard nothing but negative feedback about this guy. I firmly believe that he is having Angie?s List members put good reports on him so that members see his good rating. Based off of my personal experience and the three contractors I have dealt with in the meantime they say that is very hard to believe that he has a good rating. <br /> <br /> Alan also had sub-contractors perform work on my roof and to install windows in my house. <br /> <br /> Bottom line, I am having problems with all of the prjects that went through Allan Cherry's Exteriors. <br /> <br /> 7/15/2011 <br /> Update in response to the provider?s response of 7/7/2011. Problems started in 1990. I have documentation from the BBB for the complaint I started in 1990. They choose to ignore this complaint way back then. I have called him many many times over the years about both the siding a windows. This is an ongoing complaint. There were minor problems from the very beginning. There was siding coming loose. I have had several other siding contractors look at the siding and they have said it was installed wrong. I thought I would call him one last time on June 2nd and I reported everything. I said that now ones are falling off. He said that he would come out in the next couple days. I waited a month and they never came. I reported them to Angie?s List and that next day they called me about the report. <br /> <br /> He never mentioned a service charge of $100.00. He did say he would come back, but I decided I would go in a different direction. I was told by other contractors that it would take 2 men a week, for a charge of $1000.00 to fix the issues and no guarantees. The original job was done by one man in one week. Other contractors tell me it would take 4 men 2 weeks to complete the job well. I can tell that they want to do everything fast cheap and sloppy if they are willing to do it for only $100.00.</p> <p> </p> <p>7/20/2011</p> <p>Update: They have contacted me with threats to sue me for slander in the amount of $400,000.00. The owner, Allan Cherry personally threatened me with this lawsuit, and the intimidation is unacceptable.</p>

"To whom it may concern, I'm writing a response to the member from july 5,2011. Dating back from july 14 1989. First thing first is that this complaint is from work that was done 22 years ago. She had called me on June 22 2011 telling me of a piece of siding that had come down. 22 years later. I told her that we were approaching a holiday week and someone would be out to take care of it for a $100 service fee, which I thought was being more than reasonable. As for the roof shingles that supposedly come off I told her my serviceman would take care of it, after the holiday week of july 4th. The roof that was installed was a 20 year roof. Once again this is 22 years later. She goes on to say that "Alan never came out to do the work himself" never was she promised that I would do the work myself. Never have I ever done the work myself. I take pride in hiring the best skilled mechanics that are available in this industry. If you buy a computer from Microsoft would you expect Bill Gates to deliver and setup your computer? She goes on to say "he doesn't even check with the subcontractors while they are working on my house".. either me or my son are on the jobsite at some point everyday.. she's complaining about this 22 years after? "She has nothing but negative feedback from this guy?" Hmm.. well if your an educated consumer you know to check with better business bureau,consumer affairs,internet reviews, and angies list.. and if you would have looked there you would have seen that my record is flawless. I take a whole lot of pride in what I do. The next comment actually questions the legitimacy of angies list and the basis of this complaint "I firmly believe that he is having angies list members put good reports on him so that members see his good rating "im not sure I know how to respond to this? Did I hold everyone hostage until they wrote a good report about me? Or did I do a fantastic job and in turn customers show there gratitude by helping other potential customers realize what kind of job they are getting. Being that I offered to help her out for a service charge of $100 bring that the warranty had expired many years ago I feel that this is not even a legitimate complaint. To slander and make false allegations after 22 years is ridiculous. We work very hard at providing excellent workmanship and service to our customers as you can see from every other review on this site."

The house looks fantastic. They helped out with selections of colors and different quality sidings, and their input was extremely helpful. I decided to be a little more bold with the choices, and it all pulled together very nicely. What a great job.

It went very well. I'd say 80% of the work was done in the first 5 days, then there were several delays, and half days (I don't know why), but the work got done in 2-3 weeks. One important point. The initial estimate was high -- $12,200. I received an unsolicited estimate in my door, and when I told Josh Cherry about it, he said he would like to look at it and see if he could match it, which he did, bringing the price down to $8,870. I went with him, and not the unsolicited contractor, because Cherry has a good reputation, and nothing is known about the other guy.

Job went very well. Good communication from the company representative in terms of when work would begin, plus he updated me as we got closer to the start date. I got a half dozen estimates on various aspects of this work, and their price was the best by far. Good friends had used this company for capping and roofing work on two different houses and were more than satisfied both times with the work and the price.
